How has everything changed?

dags everyone in here was like it`s over (yes, man) even I ask wouldn`t you wait until the 1st 10 games before saying such things. Even albi came back with such joy and rightly so. I just have a different sense from negative to very promising in 1 day . Please, I have a great respect to pool as a club and I rather pool be back on top and put spuds back down.
In football manager he ends being a brilliant cb.Yep, he's a CB and supposed to be VERY promising.
Danny Wilson has signed for us, £2m initial but rising to £5m.
I agree that we should look for a substitute for Torres, but it 's a tought decision. I dont think that Loic Remy is going to want to come here and accept that he is just going to be Torres replacement for when he is injured. He is going to want to be a starter And for that we would need to play with 2 upfront and change our tactic, but we have all the players to play a 4-2-3-1. Torres has shown that playing isolated he is a beast, but when he played with another striker he wasnt even near to how he played when he was isolated. Plus, Aquilani is brilliant playing behind a striker. If he was amazing playing behind a striker like Kuyt, can you imagine how he would be behind Torres ? And then we got Joe Cole and Maxi Rodriguez for the wings and Gerrad and Lucas as CM.We still are short of the following positions
- Striker : Assuming Torres will stay, we will need one more genuine
forward who can score goals since Torres is injury-prone.
Maybe Loic Remy ? Or will it be someone cheaper ?
I would prefer that Kuyt/Babel be the other striker
- Right-wing : We don't have any wingers on the right.
Kuyt is a striker and he needs to play with Torres or as backup
and not put on the right wing. He works hard for sure, but we
need someone who has pace and guile who can create assists.
Babel is not the solution either...since he is more of a RWF.
- Left-back (Admittedly Hodgson is trying to get someone soon)
(Ziegler, Figueroa ?)
- Right-back : still not convinced with Johnson.
We either need him to improve defensively or get a new player.
- Defensive midfield : With Masch looking like he will leave,
we dont have a tough tackling defensive midfielder...
I dont want us to use attacking players like Lucas or Aquilani
there...
It seems to me that the best formation for LFC would be 4-3-3
due to the lack of genuine width
-------------Reina-------------
--Johnson---Carra-Agger-----LB--
-----------DM-------------------
-------Gerrard------Aquilani----
---Cole----------------Jova------
------------Torres---------------
Possible outgoings:
- Mascherano, Riera, Soto
Subs:
- Wilson, Skrtel, Lucas, Babel, Kuyt
Maxi, Babel, Kuyt and Cole can all play on the right wing, plenty of options there.

If we want to play a 4-4-2, then Masche has to stay and pair Aquilani in the midfield. As I said before, I cant see Aquilani and Gerrard playing together. They are both too similar players to play together.
Yes that's the dealwe'll receive €4m and an extra €1m if they win the league + 50% of the resale fee from what I'm reading.
I guess that the contract Riera will earn is included in those 17M, so that 's the total amount Riera is going to cost Olympiakos. If Im wrong, it really is a lot of money paying that transfer fee for a player like Riera. It's true, it's 17M € but with the bonuses included in the price.
Yes that's the deal
Yes, 17M is the total expenses for Olympiacos, Liverpool are going to receive what Dags said (4M upfront +1M if we win the league (that is very likely to happenI guess that the contract Riera will earn is included in those 17M, so that 's the total amount Riera is going to cost Olympiakos.

i dont agree, i think Hodgson will play 442 as i think he prefeurs playng with two strikers up front...
where did you leave Kuyt - on bench? dont be silly, he will be a big part of our next season squad...imo a starter...or you think he can not convince Hodgson to play him?
Jovanovic i think can be used as left wing but also as striker...
i still think we play sth like this:
------------- Reina ----------------
Johnson -- Carra -- Agger --- NEW LB
Cole --- Gerrard - Aquilani -- Jova
--------- Kuyt ----- Torres --------
Subs: Lucas, Babel, Maxi, Skrtel, Wilson etc.
nobody said we need a true world class DM if we will play 442...
also we dont know if Hodgson will like to play Aquilani or prefeur him on AM over Gerrard and move Gerrard a bit deeper..
this things we can not predict..
The problem is we don't have wingers which are required for a 4-4-2.
Which is why I left out Kuyt...I was'nt being silly....
if we do play 2 up front then sure Kuyt
should get a chance with Torres.
But can't see Cole on the wings....I've been reading that he wants
a central role....
Like you say, we will find out on August 14th at home to Arsenal.
Gerrard and Aquilani can't work in a 2 man midfield and im not even sure they'd work in a 3 man midfield unless Aquilani can improve his defensive game.

Totally agree. But I think that it doesnt have to do with his defensive game, cause it's decent. But, it has more to do with him and Gerrard being two ofensive minded players. They both like to go deep so they clearly cant play together in a 2 man midfield.Gerrard and Aquilani can't work in a 2 man midfield and im not even sure they'd work in a 3 man midfield unless Aquilani can improve his defensive game.
No way Jovanovic or Kuyt are playing ahead of Aquilani mate. Joe Cole is clearly going to be a winger.hmm central role for Cole even in 433 lets say.. would mean either Gerrard or Aquilani on bench...becouse all 3 are suposed to by something like AM... Gerrard can also play CM but Aquilani as CM is not so great idea...for me he is more AM..i would rather see Lucas on CM becouse he can also defend better..
anyway i think Cole will be used more on wings.. and if not, that means Gerrard moves a bit back, with a DM in lineup...but Aquilani on bench...
or we play (in 433) like that:
------------- Reina ----------------
Johnson -- Carra -- Agger --- NEW LB
-------------- NEW DM --------------
-------------- Gerrard -------------
Kuyt ---------- Cole ----- Jovanovic
--------------- Torres -------------
obviously no Aquilani...the only way to play Aquilani with Gerrard and Cole imo...is to move Cole on wings and move Stevie in CM role.. giving Aquilani space to create things.. but with Kuyt and Jova in same team, we have to play without true Mascherano type DM...
United did this over best seasons.. Scholes is not DM, Carrick either..but they used to play great over the time on tihs postions also..
i just write this![]()
