Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

What a load of drivel. Have you even bothered to read the update on his injury? He's likely to miss pre season only. That means 3-4weeks max. The guy had a knee op in April and returned straight back into the line up in June. That is not enough time to regain full fitness and form. When he was playing for spain he was woking up his match fitness. Anyone with half a brain could see he wasnt at 100% yet.

So this new thigh injury is different to his knee problem he suffered. If liverpool lose torres its curtains for them rather than Torres. Should every footballer who suffers a thigh injury then hang up their boots? I'm sorry but you're an utter moron.

I was Ironic YOU moron...Torres at age 25 wont retire everbody know that...torres had knee problem but the main problem of why he is injured is that he keep getting tight and groin injuries...and its been 2 years , he barely played at the world cup give me a break...and umm...I really cant remember the last time we set a date for Torres and he recovered in time...He definately lost his focus and its really affecting his performance... if you think Torres will ever get fully fit again then your an idiot...medical staff who are paid millions of dollar would have take a chance to let torres play while he is recovering from a knee injuries while there a tremendous pressure in a competition such as the world cup as he's been starting and used as a sub for the competition?? your clearly a moron...wow I just stated my opinion and you give me crap like you know what your talking about...

One minute you're being ironic, then you go and reaffirm what you just said. Make your mind up. I thought you were serious too.

You clearly have no clue when it comes to either football, gammar or punctuation. I don't know why I'm entertaining your strawman argument. Firstly your opening post was strange to say the least, without any hint of irony or sarcasm. Secondly he hasn't been fit due to hamstring problems in the past. He recovered from the knee injury in time for the WC, it was just a case working up to full fitness. He was always going to do his best to play in the world cup that only comes along every four years. And I dont know what world cup you were watching son if think he hardly played.

He only missed the opening against Switzerland and started all of Spain's games except against Germany and Holland where he came on from the bench

Re: Liverpool Thread

Looks like Insua has gone to Fiorentina for £5m.

Not long ago we had 3 LB's at the club, now we have 0.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Right this is where we have to start hoping the club has a plan that doesn't just involve Dagger playing at Left Back!

I'm happy that we've made a good profit on Insua (ESP considering how culpable he was last season) but on the other hand, he's only 21.....

You have far too much time on your hands and everyone is ignoring you. Your last marathon post was so funny. To see you had written all that and nobody is going to read it. keep going please :)

I'll just bump it up later when someone tries to pass off as if they know the situation with United's and Liverpool's debt. Its not my business who chooses to read it. It just goes to show some like to remain deluded thinking they're the best fans in the world. Yet while they're club is going to the dogs, they'll turn the other way and pretend it's not happening. When it all blows up in their faces I'll be there refresh their memories

Re: Liverpool Thread

Someone mentioned that they think we need 2-3 more, not sure how correct that is though.

Re: Liverpool Thread

isnt chris mavinga LB?.... there gonna have to use him, DAGGER picks up little injuries along the season cant see him playing 50 odd games.

I know glen johnson can play LB too. Personally I like insua, i think hes still too chubby to be a professional footballer but if he played like he did when he first started a decent run in the team before Argentina took him to the U20 Finals then he will be decent for us. He had a tough season last year and £5 Mil jus seems too cheap. Fucking Palermo bid £3mil for Lucas....there all just taking the piss!

Re: Liverpool Thread

What is your 25 man squad then looking like right know with 8 homegrown players.

This is the squad that's travelled to the training camp:

Diego Cavalieri
Alberto Aquilani
Albert Riera
Lucas Leiva
Emiliano Insua
David Ngog
Jay Spearing
Philipp Degen
Stephen Darby
Martin Kelly

Peter Gulacsi
Steven Irwin
Nathan Eccleston

Daniel Ayala
Martin Hansen
David Amoo
Lauri Dalla Valle
Thomas Ince
Jonjo Shelvey

Victor Palsson
Sotirios Kyrgiakos
Milan Jovanovic

Plus we've got the following players arriving later

Steven Gerrard
Jamie Carragher
Glen Johnson

Dirk Kuyt
Ryan Babel
Pepe Reina
Fernando Torres
Maxi Rodriguez
Javier Mascherano
Daniel Agger
Martin Skrtel

the players in bold are "homegrown".

If i had to pick a 25 man squad from that list it'd probably look like:

Pepe Reina
Diego Cavalieri
Jamie Carragher
Glen Johnson
Daniel Agger
Martin Skrtel
Emiliano Insua
Martin Kelly
Stephen Darby
Sotirios Kyrgiakos
Daniel Ayala
Steven Gerrard
Javier Mascherano
Maxi Rodriguez
Alberto Aquilani
Lucas Leiva
Jonjo Shelvey
Jay Spearing
David Amoo
Lauri Dalla Valle
Fernando Torres
Dirk Kuyt
Ryan Babel
Milan Jovanovic
David N'Gog

That would give 8 homegrown players, and maybe a couple more depending on birthdays of some of the younger lads, but i do think Mascherano's leaving and we'll sign at least one more English player.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Good to see Ince in with the squad, heard good things about him.

Eccleston has been speaking to the press saying that Roy is telling the squad that the game against Al-Hilal is one of the most important of the season and everyone is focused on trying to impress. With Roy saying that fringe players being given chances, I'm hoping the likes of Darby, Kelly and Eccleston are able to step up.

Hope Pacheco gets more chances this season as well. Dalla Valle is supposed to be a HUGE talent as well.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Seems stupid to let Insua go imo, the lad had a rough season but had too much pressure on him and he wasn't ready for it. He's only 21 and has been in the national squad for Argentina in the past year, plus he counts as one of our homegrown players.

Re: Liverpool Thread

He was definitely thrown in at the deep end because of Aurelio's injuries.

In hindsight, selling Riise was stupid, especially given the monster season he had last year with Roma.

Roy will probably bring in Konchesky for the short term.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'd rather have Insua than Riise if I had a choice. Insua did show weaknesses last season and he can be rash tactically but he's got a lot of potential. He's going to become a quality LB and it's a shame it wont be with us.

Re: Liverpool Thread

A bitter City fan on here attempted to do the same. Come up hyperbole that he read somewhere in the papers and tried passing it on here thinking all United fans arent clued up on what's the reality compared to what's trotted out by the doom and gloom propagandists..

Blinkers on again my friend as pointed out in the scum thread i posted your officail accounts, you posted the bbc hyperbole.....

Re: Liverpool Thread

The only thing that was prenteious was you're pathetic attempt at pairing our debt situation with yours. But I guess misery loves company. I shouldn't have expected much from someone with obvious intellectual inadequacies with an attention span to that of adhd child, to take in hard facts and figures showing the difference between the two clubs.

There was no need whatsoever for this. You could've easily picked better words than this. It is lines like these that wind people up and might label you as one.

Please don't re-open that again and certainly not in this thread. Anymore of this and it'll be deleted. Take it somewhere else.

Thanks.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Can some please get rid of this geeza : Beliel

Theres no point him being here....plus hellraisers a shit movie

Re: Liverpool Thread

I've just heard on the news that you guys are after Gervinho. Is this true?

Re: Liverpool Thread

L'Equipe mentioned it yesterday I think but apparantly he's turned us down anyway.

Not sure where we'd get money from to buy him in any case really.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yep. He wants to stay in France, but his club don't mind selling him.
