Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

You and Chelsea cancelled each other out with negative football.

Arsenal are a whole different kettle of fish. :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has today revealed that Daniel Agger is unlikely to play again this season.
The Danish defender will undergo surgery on his troublesome metatarsal injury early next week.

"It's a blow for Daniel but we want to get his problem sorted," said Benitez.

"We have defensive cover and Martin Skrtel is playing very well. Daniel will be back for next season."

Re: Liverpool Thread

Eh? Who said we're very confident? In fact, who's confident? We can win, sure. But I don't think any Liverpool or Arsenal fan is taking anything for granted mate ;)

Check out the thread, some of you were talking about the semi finals already and meeting Chelsea again.

I think this is so close you could flip a coin....:DD

Re: Liverpool Thread

We were only saying that by saying "if" we get through. And it is an "if" too, like you say it could be a coin-toss.

I expect the 1st leg to be great, the league game to be good and the 2nd leg we'll be sick of the sight of each other

Alan Hansen reckons Liverpool will go through because to quote:

"with Arsenal still fighting on two fronts and Liverpool being able to concentrate on the Champions League, I'd tip Liverpool to join them in the semi-finals."

So Liverpool don't have anything to worry about in the league then??:SHAKE:

Re: Liverpool Thread

That is quite a naive comment, not sure why he'd give that as a reason really.

Re: Liverpool Thread

What's gonna piss me off is when you guys hand the prem match to l'arse in the middle, after taking points of United a few weeks earlier. Buggers. ;)

I'd always pick Pool o'er the Arse in Europe. I think Mash can wrap up Fab and put him in his pocket, plus the fact that Rafa seems to have the run of the green in the CL.

Pool Chelsea semi is a bit dire, but there you go. I'd definitely put money on you lot getting to the final. Once there though, I'd absolutely love to see United finally answer the screaming 5 times crowd.

Long way to go. Roma are tough, Barca are tougher.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Shows you don't know much about us then, Senderos has been VERY good since deputising for Toure. He played 180 mins against Milan, did we concede?

Fuck why am I justifying it? We will do our talking on the pitch! ;))

Re: Liverpool Thread

Adebayor v Hyypia = Goals ;))

Hyypia is a much, much better defender than Senderos, even at 34. We'll have Skrtel power as well

And WTF is up with Agger?!! How bad is this injury? I was hoping to see him in the squad against Reading :((

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hyypia has been one of our best players this season
let alone defender. He has the experience to keep
Adebayor quiet.

Agger, fucking hell too...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Fucking hell, Hyypia is 34!! Adebayor will be shitting himself!! :TU:

I'd say Ibrahimovic is a better player and yet he couldn't do shit against us same goes for Eto'o, Drogba etc. Your right Hyypia will be petrified...

Re: Liverpool Thread

@ Dags,

that betting thread is very suspicious, especially with the bookies not taking any bets. Very, very strange. Even moreso when the guy predicted all the draws correctly after speaking to those guys 2 hours before the actual draw!

But really, why would UEFA want to have another possible chelsea-liv semi!? I'm not sure if I want liverpool to beat Arsenal, just so we don't have to play those blue bastards again!

However, they have kept up their side of the bargin by beating us in the carling cup, suppose we'll just have to return the favour again :D

After all, it's only Arsenal in the QF. :(

I think Liverpool can beat Arsenal, earlier in the season Liverpool were close to winning the match and they were in their worst form of the season and Arsenal in their best. And but for the Milan game, Arsenal have been wobbling a bit in the league. Hopefully that was their performance of the season.

As for Hansen's comment, I think he might be thinking that the 4th place fight will be nearly over if Liverpool beat Everton. And that small gap will allow more focus to be placed on the CL. Or, if we win it it wont matter anyway. Even better, Everton 4th and UEFA next season, Liverpool 5th and CL winners ;)

3 times still doesn't have the same ring to it in a boasting match, so we'll still sing it!

Re: Liverpool Thread

I have no problem if people feel Arsenal are favorites. That's when we are at our strongest.

Re: Liverpool Thread

So, Reading tonight. Should be a good game, as I feel Reading will have a go. Has anybody noticed, whenever we lost, the return fixture score is x4

Besiktas 2-1 x4 8-0
West Ham 1-0 x4 4-0
Marseille 1-0 x4 4-0

So, you ready for a 12-0 drubbing :D
