Adam is overrated...he reminds me of both Sidwell and Bullard, but i rate those two higher...often low profile players of those small clubs do much better in the long term. Look at Leighton Baines and Jagielka: among the best Premier League players (and no coïncidence they both play for Everton).

Crazy post. Bullard?! :LOL: Sidwell has had chances at "big" clubs and didn't cut it. Just because someone does okay for a smaller team, it doesn't mean they're cut out for the bigger teams. See Roy Hodgson as a good example.

And I wouldn't say Baines or Jagielka are low profile, far from it.

I have the feeling you don't understand me.
I think Adam will also fail at big clubs like Sidwell.

As for Baines and Jagielka they were low profile players when they came up with Wigan and Sheffield Utd.

I have enjoyed Adam this season, but he is IMO not good enough for Liverpool just like Sidwell (a decent player for Reading) was not good enough for Chelsea and Villa.

I see what you're saying, fair points.

In fairness, Moyes has always done a good job of bringing up players from the lower divisions and they've improved (Cahill being another).

Time will tell with Adam. He is only 24 (how he looks like he's aged 20 years I'll never know). So plenty of time for him to fine tune the other side of his game (fitness and tracking back??)

ditto adam.gerd is right.there was the usual english media hyping the likes of bullard,sidwell,mancienne,ireland etc after a season or even a couple of good performances only for them(over hyped players=adam)to dissapear into oblivion.chelsea were made to look like complete mugs after they thought it was a coup landing sidwell on a free.

Aquaman played last night in G. Nev's testimonial - didn't do anything particularly special. Was just a friendly of course, but didn't show his class. Unlike Krasic and Del Piero, who oozed it, alongside Giggs, Becks and Scholes. The way those 5 played with no pressure was obscene, just gorgeous reading of the game.

well don´t know why you argue if Adam is good or not good enough to start..Before he even played for us...sounds ridicilous..

We have now the need to play our youngsters becouse we didn´t had enough deep squad and with injury to Gerrard and others, we were without any good replacement..

Look at United for example...where are our Giggs, Anderson, Gibson, Park, Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher? becouse this are all players one team uses for midfield..

i would not be worried that we won´t give a one player certain first 11 spot... becouse the season is to loong to have one player always fit and ready...

we have couple of very good young midfielders in Shelvey and Spearing, but we definetly need to invest in more, not to rely only on Lucas and Meireles.. Gerrard is more an utility attacking midfielder, so i don´t count him as CM.. we need a new CM or two, if we wan´t to compete and have good squad..

especialy if we don´t call Aquilani back...

since then, no final has surpased this and i don´t see a point to not remember it..

it was one of best days of every LFC supporters life, your´s not?

I kinda see Tik's point. 5 years later, maybe remember then? But 6? It just seems a bit ... small-time to celebrate it every year really? I dunno.

It was a great final, best night of my life. Hopefully we'll have more nights like it, but we shouldn't bring it up every year IMO.

Would have been nice if Krasic showed his class this second part of the season in official matches and not just in friendlies.

I really dont believe after 1st half and i have my father (united fan) that was doing me nervous like "what team is this ? its one joke , change ur team" and many other provokes so I went out of room coz i had shame and i dont want to see one 6-0 for AC Milan but when i back in room i saw alonso ready to shot penalty and listen comentaoty saying "its a good chance for 3-3" I say with my self (its this comentatory stupid or what) when alonso score i really cant believe its 3-3 coz i just leave 3-0 was incredible night , i watch again yesterday THE ROAD TO ISTANBULL and i love commentaotry when they score 3-0 say "ITS GOING FROM BAD TO WORSE" no one belive in that moments !!!!

im young and maybe i dont saw much but for what i saw untill now this is best final ever for me !

It really saddens me how the media has made England so much more 'radicalised' in support. 10 years ago I'd support whichever team was playing in Europe, be it Liverpool, Arsenal - even Leeds! But now there's so much animosity built up between the big clubs that you feel compelled to support some random team from a country you've barely heard of over a team playing in your own town.

Tribalism at its worst.

Rivalry is part and parcel with any competitive sport gerd, it's pretty normal. You're in the minority when it comes to football fans i'd say, as the vast majority love that part of the game.

It's only a bad thing when it's taken the wrong way, most people don't take it too seriously and it's a bit of fun or banter, some people think it's more serious than that, you seem to take it really serious and see any insults as genuine nastiness when most of the time they're a bit tongue-in-cheek.

Completely agree with this, football wouldn't be the same for me without the banter and rivalries. It's a shame when a minority take it too far, but it is generally good natured.

Well it's not always tongue in cheek i think i have enough knowledge of English to notice when it's tongue in cheek (and then i really like it).
About evo-web, it used to be a lot more tongue in cheek a couple of years ago. There are people who act as if they have merits when their team win silverware and who like to gloat in other club threads...most of the time they are not tongue in cheek.
Sometimes it borders on disrespect (the way certain people laugh about Scottish football is quite offensive sometimes).
