That Kondogobia from Monaco is just what we need. I knew he was great on FM, but had never seen him in real life. He's a beast. Coutinho-Kondogobia-Can. That would be an incredible midfield.

And we should pay that. The guy just turned 22 years old and is already a beast. Unless Rodgers thinks Emre Can is our future defensive midfielder and considering Lucas is probably leaving, we should spend a great portion of our transfer budget in one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.

of all the players Lovren had to go... otherwise great penalty shoots.

rodgers or whoever assigned the pk takers is the one to blame, kolo should've taken that one he just took part in the a pk shootout at the afcon.
anyway over the 2 legs besiktas wanted it more and they deserved to go through.
city game is going to be really interesting.

Where was Sterling on the pens? Lovren was always gonna balloon it.

Well, not that I wanted you to lose but heads down after 2hours of football, 60 odd hours before we play you... we could hardly ask for better conditions

So you would buy him based on one game that you've seen. Might end up being a great player but come on man, talk about going overboard.

I beleive in the judgment of specialists. Call me crazy but I think there is great value in the Football Manager stats (maybe you shouldn't call me crazy since Football Manager is used by real clubs in the real world too) and this is a player who is outstanding there and often talked about in stats sites too.

About today, is someday Brendan going to learn the importance of substitutes in football ? John Henry is certainly trying to implement a moneyball analytical culture in our club, can't someone show the numbers to Rodgers ? He never does a substitute on time. The only match in which we were being outplayed by our rival and a substitute introduced on time changed the situation was Joe Allen against Swansea last year.
He and Wenger are the most substitute-averge managers. The most pro substitute manager is Mourinho and it pays off.

The game is on so early too bunch time, should played this fixture on Monday. I'm speaking as a neutral wanting to see a good attacking match not a defensive game where both looking for a draw. I think it's to be expected:(

I love watching Liverpool at the moment. Rodgers has a talented young squad of players and is getting the best out of them.

You made City look like the boys today, Liverpool were the men.

I think losing to Besiktas may have been a blessing in disguise. Just compared our fixture with United's. I can't see us not getting to the top 4 now honestly.

Thank God for that.....the europa league is tough to win and now that we're out....we should hopefully have a better chance of top-4 and also possibly an FA-cup run.

If Liverpool is consistent with their performance and they buy a decent defender, they can be title contenders next year along with Chelsea and Man City.

NLiverpool still need more than that IMO. I think people get too carried away after a few wins - Liverpool are in very good form but still need a better GK, a right back OR right wing back if Rodgers sticks with the 3-4-3 system, a centre back, a striker for when Sturridge is injured (Sterling isn't the answer up-front), and a defensive minded midfielder.

Although saying that, Liverpool aren't a million miles away. Right now, they are the 2nd best team in the league after Chelsea.

A hungry squad of young players, a hungry young manager and huge fanbase - Liverpool can acomplish whatever they want long term.
