Hendo and Lallana, hats off to them.
I didn't rate them too much TBH, but I'm glad they're proving us wrong.

I knew Lallana was special after i seen him first 5 minutes in his PL career... and i mean it. I was even thinking he is spanish or sth like that... because of the technique and touches he is able to produce..

Henderson is our next long-term captain as things look atm.

:LMAO: That actually happened. Never Forget.

re Carroll, we managed to sell him quite good as well...

some interesting facts about Rodgers:

Brendan Rodgers: Total Games -107 Wins - 59 Draws - 22 Losses - 26 (not including friendlies)

13 Times LFC have conceded 3 goals in a game (approx. - 1 in 10 ratio)
34 Shut Outs (between 1 in 3 and 4 games)
223 Goals Scored & 130 Goals Against (not including friendlies)

Record Against Top Clubs

Arsenal 1 win; 1 draw; 3 losses;
Chelsea 0 wins; 2 draws; 2 losses;
Man City 1 win; 2 draws; 1 loss;

Record Against Others

Everton 1 win; 4 draws; 0 losses
Man United 2 wins; 0 draws; 3 losses
Tottenham 4 wins; 0 draws; 1 loss (16 goals scored in 5 games)

9 Wins; 9 draws; 10 losses * Tottenham's inclusion heavily influences this depiction

Rest of the League
50 wins; 13 draws; 16 losses

In terms of trends for our 2014 ---->

Starting on the Front Foot - How we start games is hurting us
We have scored just one goal in the first 15 minutes of all EPL games (sample size of 7)
Last year, we scored 15 times in the first 15 minutes
we scored 22 times in the next 15 minutes
another 22 times in the last 15 minutes of the half

Responding after adversity
West Ham, Aston Villa and Man City (we conceded the first goal in our losses) - we are 0-3 this season in the EPL
Last year we conceded the first goal in 10 games -----------------> our record was 3-3-4 in those games.

Chances Created
We have more playmakers in the squad this season. It will take some time for patterns to arise - getting on the same page. Cycling of forward movements, combination play, disruptive runs through the midfield, and decision-making. Previously, we relied upon these five:

1) Luis Suarez - 87
2) Steven Gerrard - 68
3) Coutinho - 65
4) Henderson - 62
5) Sterling - 52

Rest of LFC - no one above 29

This year

The void is being filled by committee (prorated) -----> Sterling 18; Gerrard 17; Henderson 15; Moreno 9; Balo/Coutinho/Lallana 4
This means, as many already know, that we relied upon El Pistolero for a great deal beyond scoring. New playmakers need to time to emerge, grow and they also need pacey targets who can get on the end of things which creates more space in the corridors.

@JamesPearceEcho: #LFC defender Dejan Lovren has a suspected groin injury. Returning to Merseyside to be assessed by club medical staff.

We actually sold Bebe for about half his fee. I'm still shocked.

And perhaps more importantly, the clear bribe we paid for him got us De Gea, Di Maria and potentially Falcao as we're now besties with Mendes.

Fellaini on the other hand...

Liverpool attacker Raheem Sterling has reportedly agreed a new five-year deal at the club, which will see him earn a whopping £125,000 a week.

surprised he wasn't too tired to sign the new deal.

LOL...great reply that one.

This said all the fuss (or is it fuzz) about this is totally irrelevant...it's about papers and internet sites filling spaces to surround the adverts...

Give him a break (pun intended).

Yeah, madness that this is 'news'.

As to wages - pay him what he wants. If you lose him you're f*cked, and it's not like a trip down to London wouldn't be good for him personally. Chelsea would love him I'm sure.

lol, last 4 posts guys...

he is quality, easy the best 19 year old player in world.

i´m happy we might enjoy him for next few years hopefully with chance to build the team around him..

also, with him not wanting to play for NT because of being tired.. so what? now that he is top class and playes many games for LFC and national team, he is not allowed to do that? i mean..he is the most used player for his club and country for past few months at 19... i don´t want him to end up as Owen being burned out at 26-27... he is just a kid.

Even Rio Ferdinand thinks he was right to say that: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29596723

Hmmmm......

It is a bold statement particularly for his early season form.

If you are talking about young players then I'm sure that there are many, if you are talking about just 19year olds only then you might have a point.....what is his birth date? Maybe you can say he is easily the best player born on 'insert date here' at the moment.....it would probably be more accurate ;))

in his age category, nobody is playing at his level. name one player who does.

he starts for LFC in league, CL and is starting for his NT...

I like Sterling ,he runs/dribbles like a Dutch. Those dinosaur hands tingling about. I think young players get tired due to mental strength is not fully developed.

God what is Hodgson doing. First he uses Sterling to deflect attention from a crap performance and now he is questioning Liverpools training regime....as obviously the couple of days he spends with the players offers far more insight then a whole season with a dedicated team of specialists.

Glad to see him offer more and more evidence, as if it was needed, that he is a complete dinosaur. The sooner Liverpool players "do one" with regards to the NT the better.

I think thay says more about the state of Liverpool and our national team :PP

if you are talking about young players? (Definition of young?)

Im going for 21 and under? (A few of these might be just over 21? Im not checking)

Varane, Morata, Veratti, ElShaarawy, Neymar, isco, gotze, Draxler, erikson, oscar, shaqiri, pogba

Im sure the list can go on and on.

I think he is a great talent and exciting but easily the best in the world at the moment for his age group......not so sure.

although I don't see that as something so fascinating for some reason, pipa is right on his usual claim. most of those lads are at least 1,5 years older than raheem(born on dec 94).

Could well be that he perfectly knows what he's talking about...he was your manager no so long ago and should know the medical staff.

It does prove one thing; that Hodgson is a communication disaster...after what happened with him in Liverpool and as the coach of the English national team, he should never say negative things about Liverpool. He should know that Liverpool fans will always overreact to what he says, the above quote is a fine example of course...

yet, none of them is younger than him i think..don´t have time to check, but mostly it is about the pressure on his young shoulders..he is main player for us right now, i mean for the club and becomes one of the most important players for England...the players you mention, either play more in their teams or national teams.. only maybe Neymar, Gotze, Veratti, Erikson or Pogba start most matches in both clubs and national clubs.. but all of those are 21+ now.. Sterling will be 20 this december... his progress was to rapid, and i fear for his future tbh... if he continues playing as much as he is now.. he needs a rest.

all im saying is that in recent history there was not many players in sterling years being SO important for their clubs and country at such young age...

He doesn't know the medical staff Gerd, Rodgers has a whole new team with members specifically for training regimes, diets, analysis ect ect.

The point is though, did he even need to say anything about either Sterling or Rodgers? As has been mentioned on other sites, he could have said Sterling needed a rest and Lallana was in great shape. Nothing would have been said and everything is fine. Instead he opens Sterling up to critism which he knows the media will pick up and now continues by stating that he knows better than Rodgers about Liverpool players and how much rest they need!

Can't disagree that Sterling is the best teenager/under 21 in world football ...at least currently on the world stage (ie. not counting unknown 16/17 yr old future superstars)

Domestically, probably only Ross Barkley (20) might have an argument in the near future. He looks to me like he could be the next Bale of the PL
