Formula1

Congrats to Vettel, was a great season overall..

Petrov is my idol! :D

Glückwünsche Sebastian!

@ S-NipE: I think you were very harsh with Mark. Since the begin we knew Seb was the favourite inside RBR. Moreover, Mark had so many problems in the team because of those favours. Look, I'm saying this although Sebastian is one of my favourite drivers alongside Lewis and Schummi.

I feel sorry for Mark. It was his last chance to snap the title. I hope to be wrong because he is such a nice guy and a gentleman, he deserves to win sooner or later.

I don't think I am too harsh with him. He showed to be quite a bad looser with claiming he was behind Vettel all the time and forcing him before the race at Interlagos to drive for him(what a luck he did not). I think RBR had a very good organisation with both drivers on the same level and there was no one the favourite inside. Webber had the big chance to win everything in Korea were he himself threw it away. Vettel was the one with all the technical problems, Webber himself had not a single mechanical issue forcing him to end a race early. And so I think it is just fair that Vettel won the title, because he never gave up and fought his way up to today.

@Petrov: I really like, how this guy is driving and it is a shame that he'll probably miss a cockpit next season. His early races this season were already great and impressive(even if he made some avoidable mistakes), I remember his good performance in Monaco and I think Renault is quite powerful with him and Kubica(another great driver), these two guys do definitely have the talent to be successful in the next years.

Sorry, Alonso what was this after the race?
I don't believe it...
Now, Petrov is a hero in Germany^^
Aand standing ovation for Seb, the youngest Worl Champion!!!
But we should also think of Webber.
I think it wasn't really easy for him..

Congrats Vettel, he was great and went for victory. Ferrari did a completely stupid strategy today. I couldn't believe it when they entered the ipt stop, it was so obvious that it was wrong that I don't understand who decided this. Alonso showed to be the best driver with Hamilton. Vettel has the best car and is a great driver, too. So, all in all, next season can even get better!!!!

Good times for F1.

Honestly, Alonso isn't a bad driver, BUT: After a race like today to say he is the best, sounds ridiculous. He lost a title he had already saved and even if the Renault is the faster car on long straights, a good driver could have overtaken Petrov in over 30 laps behind him. Alonso lost his nerves and was two or three times off the circuit, so I think the best drivers out there are Vettel, Hamilton and Button(having maybe the smoothest driving style out of all drivers there).

But one thing is correct: Really good times for F1. But it could be a bit better, there where five drivers competing for the title, but all from the three big teams. Teams like HRT and Virgin are a disgrace and should be eliminated from the season. Honestly, what was their best work this year? Being not overtaken in a race once? I agree that they need some time to get bigger and more competitive, but even Minardi was faster and had less technical damages than these cars!

It seems HRT is buying Toyota's technical. It will be an huge improvement for them.

@drekkard, I believe next season will be even better. Watching this race, I bet Mercedes and Renault will have a competitive for the next season. Watch out Kubica, Rosberg and the old good Schumi.

@S-NipE, I'm with you on this: Button is a fantastic driver, I like him very much. His driving style is so smooth that I think he's driving some kind of tourist car. I'm an huge fan of this McLaren team. Two different kind of drivers but the same quality.
I just disagree with you on Alonso. He is the best driver nowadays and shouldn't be the only one to blame today, Ferrari staff were awful, Domenicalli and co. are the ones to blaming on. Just compare Alonso and Massa to see how good the Spanish is. Oh and I hate him!

@ HRT: So, no brakes next season?
ugly.gif

@ Alonso: Yes, he wasn't the only on to blame today, BUT I don't think he is the best. He has a good driver and he has something of everything, the smooth style of Button, the technique of Vettel and the will of Hill some years ago. But I think he is too aggressive in some situations(like Hamilton, but I think Lewis is way more entertaining^^) and he hasn't the "overall skill" these younger drivers has. That's why I did not include him in my personal list of "best drivers nowadays of F1".

Well, Hamilton couldn't cope with Kubica and Webber, with the best car, couldn't even get near Alonso... I hate him personally, but as a driver I think he is probably the best in the whole F1. Different tastes everyone.

Yeah, it looks like Alonso is really a mad, drivers must congratulate each other, and not to show his fists, even if one of the drivers robbed of another world title. Now, as I understand Renault extended with Petrov contract for another year, I hope this gorgeous racer next season will show more excellent performance for a long time take the place of Formula 1.:P

Also, congratulations to Sebastian Vettel, who fought until the very last race and tore the title from Alonso, he deserved it, well done!:WORSHIP:;)

They didn't up to now. I'd be happy, if they had, because this team with Kubica and Petrow is really a good one. If the car will get a bit faster next season, we'll have another top team.

Yes you are right, Kubica and Petrov's actually pretty strong team. If Petrov and Kubica next season will show the same results as in the last race of the season, Renault will truly be a top team, and it will make next season even more interesting, I hope it will.:BYE:

Petrov has had a tough first season! He's got arguably the most talented driver sitting next to him (Along with Hamilton, Button, that prick and Vettel etc... It's was his first season and when you have Kubica driving the wheels of the car and him struggling to get into the top 10 you see the pressure on his shoulders.

but even if he did leave Renault i hoped he would join another team since i do believe the guy has talent. i just think it's going to take a few years for him to get his feet comfortable, then we'll see what he's made of.

The one to watch out for is the dude in my advatar. Kobayashi.

He had a bit of a erratic start, some good races, some bad. But since especially after that immense drive from him in Valencia he's been great and very consistent.

His driving style made me a instant fan. he's actually similar to Button, he has a very smooth driving style. Doesn't fight e car. As a button fan for 10 years i grown to like this style but it's the no holds barred overtaking which everyone loves.

F1 needs this guy in a good car. would be fascinating to see him mixing it with the big boys.

Koba is a great driver, too, with a crap car he's been showing his nose around all the time and making spectacular advancements.

I don't rate Petrov particularly high. H'e's been very unconsistent at the begining though he really upped himself in the last races. But Kubica is much better than him and a potential champion, while Petrov will hardly have the chance to drive a better car or will but being the 2nd choice driver.

I don't know, if Petrow would win the title with a very good car, but he sure had some fantastic races during the season(sadly with few or no points most of the time) and I am sure he will develop a lot in the next years. Definitive one of the tops of the season for me.

About Kobayashi: Yes, he is definitely much more concentrated behind the wheel and had some good races, too. But: I think he combines the not so hard style of driving quite well with fighting(remember his five overtakes at Suzuka?-one of the three best drivers that day). I doubt he will ever get any chance at a competitive team, but I'd like to see a crossing of a Japanese the Scuderia, would guarantee for interesting races. So I think, he has a big talent, but will probably get no chance to drive for a title win. ;)

Another sad thing is Williams dropped Hülkenberg. I think this guy can do great racing(very impressive, how he brought this car onto the pole in Interlagos), but with no team right now, it will be very hard to find a car next season. Maybe two of these three(only Kobayashi has a confirmed cockpit right now) young guns I've talked about will be out of F1 next season, THIS is what makes me kinda sad.

well I'd say Kobayashi is better than Hulkenburg, even so they both more than deserve to stay in F1

whats harsh is that Hulkenburg who's had imo a good solid, productive season, he's not been spectacular but he's clearly learned a lot and gained confidence race by race.

He's only been dropped becasue Maldanado the guy replacing him brings sponsors to Williams which Hulkenburg dosen't so it's pretty much bullshit, they said he done enough in terms of his season performance. he will join another team though I'm sure, possibly force india? or maybe one of the new teams?

or maybe one of the new teams?

Oh Noez. Any more new teams? Watching HRT, Lotus and Virgin was, sorry to say, a pain in the ass. Most entertaining was Di Grassi in Suzuka were he crashed in the lap before the lap behind the safety car...these cars were simply not competitive and I cannot believe why relatively good drivers(especially as Trulli and Kovalainen did this season) driver such cars. It is a least one wasted year in their career.

The red looks out of place, other than that nice car.

Are Renault only supplying engines now?

The team news fitting to the news from today: Petrow will stay at Renault-Lotus for at least 2011 and 2012. Great choice by both driver and team because he is a great driver and Renault a good team for these younger drivers, I am already ready for the start of the new season. ;)

The whole Lotus / Lotus Renault stuff is really confusing me now, I heard Team Lotus were going to adopt Black & Gold but in light of Renault doing it now they are going to stick with Green and Yellow. I think Tony Fernandes said as well the Black & Gold livery was heavily linked to advertising JPS fags as well which wouldn't be ideal in this non-tobacco advertising age.

So, for all fans of Formula 1, and specially to all fans of Petrov, and specially to long-time fan of me the_special_one...

I've been with Petrov some time this midday. And will be sharing the same gym with him for some time now!

I go to a very strange gym at Barcelona where I can play indoor foot-volley, a very old-style gym (like in the Rocky movies). The owner is also a know n physio/trainer in the world of sports. He is the personal trainer of Victor Valdes and some MotoGP pilots. Seems that Renault has hired him to train his pilots and while they are in the pre-season, they will be getting fit at this gym... That's the reason why they also bought a set of F1 car simulator running rFactor and put it in the middle of the gym.

Today Petrov spent some time in the rFactor simulator, doing some Bahrain laps. Then he started to run just in the machine next to me. Of course I was faster and had more style.

Then he played racquet-ball for some minutes beofre doing some floor exercises.

It's great to watch a F1 pilot next to you, training just as you are. He drives very well in the simulator. It shows that he's used to it. He seems to know rFactor a lot, as he stopped and started some times and used a nearby keyboard to put some shortcuts and change configurations.

He's a bit taller than I thought and very slim. Other than that, he's not to keen to smile and seemed he was lacking motivation. He didn't seem to be a "winner" at all. His english is quite limited but to be fair, the trainer speaks a very primitive spanglish that made me laugh now and then. I don't know if Petrov got that I was laghing because of that, he was too serious all the time.

It's fun to see famous people at your side. They're just people. A pitty Kubica destroyed himself a week ago. He would be here too as well. Rumours are Heidfeld is signing for Renault?

Any petition?

Thanks for the special mention my long time friend drekkard. You know I like you. :)

Woah! What a peculiar gym! You have described an old fashion American gym (just like Rocky as you said). I must say that type of gym is much more interesting than those modern ones like Holmes Place and so on. Sounds good to me. :D Shame I don't know a similar one next to me.

Petrov have impressed me a lot last season. He had some decent/good results during the season (remember: it was his rookie season, you can't expect too much from a rookie) The performance at Abu Dhabi showed how tough and competitive this guy can be (yes, I'm talking to you Massa! Wake up!)

Well, about his behaviour, hum, you should take in consideration a fact: he is Russian. You know how Russians are! Jokes apart he has to gain confidence. As you correctly said, without confidence you can't win. Trust in you and show what are you capable of. But ok, maybe it is the fact of being Russian...

Certainly you will have Heidfeld right next to you in a couple of weeks. Surely Lotus-Renault would have preferred a more, let's say, "commercial" name. A week or two ago I read somewhere the scuderia were after Kimi Raikkonen. It would be great for the fans (and for Bernie) the returning of a big name. A brand new team formed by two big manufacturers with a World Champion at the helm. I think you're getting my thoughts. Somehow this option went down and then here is Nick Heidfeld, a talented but unlucky driver. In my opinion he deserves a shoot at the big stage. Good choice I believe.

Sorry I couldn't resist:

Then he started to run just in the machine next to me. Of course I was faster and had more style.

:LMAO:

Vettel is once again the man to stop.

Also I hate the 4:3 safe graphics this year, it ruins the HD picture.

What a demonstration in Melbourne. Vettel on pole with 0.8 seconds in front, will be very hard for the other drivers to beat him, if he continues to drive with so a pace(and if the RB will be more stable, too).

Btw: Is anyone else from Middle Europe sad, because the race is now starting that late? I was always happy, when I could get up at 4 in the morning to watch the first race, but now with the new starting time (and Bahrain as first race in most of the next seasons), some "magic points" are gone for me. But never mind, tomorrow will be the start of a new season and I will watch the race with joy. ;)

Auf gehts Sebastian!
