FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

Said it a 100 times ,it's on 2k and they please both crowds.
Best SIM game out there and a loot box bonanza ,all in one.
EA tried with NBA Live ,and fell on their arse.

Still shocking to see Dias running alongside Pulisic for their presentation video. Like he just runs alongside till Pulisic shoots and scores

Yes.

If you have a PC - even a bad one - check out this PES 5 mod called "PES 5 - The Original Season" by @Fabri55 and @Andregranata91. It's like a HD version of PES 5, fully-featured with all the teams and stadiums from the original season (2005/2006). It's honestly just wonderful.

Then, get stuck into a Master League, remember how hard it is to grind a result with that awful starter team (or you can use the real players if you prefer), and tell us your career story over in The Retro-PES Corner. You'll get over the lack of 360-movement and fancy graphics fairly quickly, when you realise the depth to the tactical system and the attributes.
you arrived late compared to other users but you seem to me to be among the most entertained by my patch.
Thanks so much :D

Sounds too good to be true. In the sense that I wonder how much of this stuff they'll ditch or dumb down to nothing in the final release and the subsequent patches..

I mean, teams moving intelligently to cover the field on their own?! I imagine all the Kurtzs and the rest of the pro circus crying so hard I'll be able to hear them from thousand miles.. nevermind EA..

Still this though...

That being said, things haven’t been completely solved. I found that once my team would be in the defensive third of the pitch, my back four would be lined up and positioned appropriately, but my midfielders that played in the middle of the pitch played in a zone and almost looked lost at times, especially when an attacker with the ball was near them. I felt that there should have been more of an effort by my defensive midfielders to make a play on the ball so that I didn’t have to move my wing or backs out of position to shut down a play. This could lend more to AI discrepancies, but with the vast improvement in movement that your squad has on the pitch, I feel like there would have been capturing of defensive movement that could have been better implemented.

The other concept at play here is probably the one that KG (and many others) talk about a lot where this might be a development decision based around the two camps of FIFA. There is one camp where people think the AI should not be able to do amazing things for you so you have to user control instead to get the ball back. And then there is the other camp who just wants the AI players to play to their ratings so you don’t have to micromanage and switch to various players on defense. It does seem like the “user control” camp continues to win out here more than the other side based on this one specific midfielders aspect that leads to many debates.

I stopped playing FIFA with commentary since they made the dumbest move ever to give up Martin Tyler.
The new commentators are so irritating I can't stand them.

I'll probably use Alex Scott in 22!
Alex Scott is very knowledgeable and good to listen to in my opinion.

It's given ME hope. Which is really annoying.

Maybe it's just because of today's news. Maybe I'm desperate.

But Operation Sports is the home of @Matt10 and other true enthusiasts, so. I trust their thoughts more than a standard review.
I remember you saying you were playing FIFA with mods on PC a while back?

What are modded FIFA games like I’ve always wondered? The footage I’ve seen they look incredible and quite life-like.

Modded FIFA 16 is a fantastic gameplay experience IMO. v1 with a "cl.ini" file, which can remove AI boosts and change the physics of the game, is probably the most realistic football experience I've played. But it's not a million miles from v1 on the PS4. And it's not perfect.

Chris that OPS review sounds promising and I hear that PC version isn't getting the Hyper motion thing.
PC/PS4/Xbox One won't get Hypermotion but they get everything else, I believe (e.g. improved goalkeepers and the like).

I'm beginning to think Hypermotion is the same sort of benefit that next-gen FIFA 21 is to current-gen FIFA 21, i.e. it's a bit smoother but that's about it.

They had an absolutely glowing hands-on preview of FIFA 21 last year, so I won't hold my breath. I realize that a lot of early impressions of the beta differed to the final retail product. I will say I'm more excited for FIFA 22 than whatever shit sandwich Konami just served up, but that's not saying much.

Players still crab core? STILL? Elbows out, head cocked sideways, body crouched/compressed (he's tracking the ball while turning). Who the hell moves like that? I attempted to replicate this stance/posture just now and it was so unnatural, I felt like I was in a medieval torture device. All of this talk of Hypermotion, but they can't even replicate basic human locomotion.

It's a bit too positive, because it all seems to be due to Hypermotion. It even says that the midfielders issue is still there but it's somehow an improvement because of Hypermotion and the new AI which doesn't make much sense to me. There's still no AI defending. It literally says "It does seem like the "user control" camp continues to win out here" so I can draw my own conclusion based on that fact, thank you very much.

There's too much hype around Hypermotion. My question is: is the pc/ps4 version gameplay just Fifa 21 with the rewritten goalkeepers? Because if that's it, it's an easy "pass". @Mathgamer ?

And as for next gen, I try to get my head around to how smoother/more animations can make it a better experience and yeah I kind of get it. But I'm not seeing it (I'm seeing the skating, I'm not blind) and I really don't think it's something worth the price of a new game + a next gen console if you don't already have one. :P

Since PES is a bare boned mobile game now I will give FIFA a try again. And I bought a ps5 for PES like a loser so I might as well get FIFA instead, lol

I tried it briefly last year but got bored with the lack of player individuality and weightless players. I don't think Neymar/Messi etc being able to do ridiculous tricks with a button combination is player individualism for reference.

Do you guys know if this is something that will be addressed in the next gen version?

Also, is there any way to enjoy online with like minded people? By that I mean people who wants to play some sort of realistic football.

Are there passing assist filters online?
