So to be clear (as day): are you saying that high framerate footage would show that these players aren't skating all over the pitch, that they actually plant their feet, that they tactically organise like real football teams, and engage their opponents physically all over the pitch?

If you showed me 4 clips - Fifa19,20,21 and this "next gen" - I would honestly have trouble in telling you which is the new one. Never buying this shit again until their vision changes completely.

Does the "new" tactical defending thing result in a perfect flat back 4 at all times? In that clip, City are in possession but both of their fullbacks are sitting deep to maintain the neat back line. That's not how most attack minded teams play. Perhaps tactical options enable you to push the FBs forward when in possession?

I'll be interested to here from those who buy it whether there's any significant difference between how different AI teams play.

Yeah, looks like I really need a high framerate TV, high framerate glasses and high framerate console, coz they look exactly the same as in last 2 Fifas I played.

..if I only knew its the framerates.. would had saved me hours on trying to batter some weight into them with sliders..

Looks a good game to me, if you really want to see something offensive, have a watch of today's eFootball "reveal".

Hopefully the offline pes fans now join the fifa offline fans crusade in asking EA for a realistic simulation and not just the goal fest FUT based gameplay
 
I think they will sell a lot more copies this year. If only next gen consoles were more sold...

Hopefully the gameplay is tolerable
 
Have been playing FIFA since FIFA 19, but this is the first year that I will go full FIFA I guess, since my old homies have just died a few hours ago :(
 
The trouble with PES going to the wall is now gamers are left with only 1 choice - Fifa.
Thats not good as they have no competition now. Would be the same if vice versa.
Remember when EA and Konami were really going for it to make the best game years ago? Well now EA dont have to make a great game as its the only one out there.
 
They had me at "Explosive Sprint".... jesus christ... the game is too attacking focussed as well as too fast as it is.

Does that mean again for another year I have NO football game to play? PES 2021 Season Update was dull as dishwater, still clunky, felt like an old Bargain Bin game from the 90's with meh shooting and ridiculous AI on Legend Difficulty.. FIFA 21 was just... crap. Football on Speed with wonky physics.

If you have a PC - even a bad one - check out this PES 5 mod called "PES 5 - The Original Season" by @Fabri55 and @Andregranata91. It's like a HD version of PES 5, fully-featured with all the teams and stadiums from the original season (2005/2006). It's honestly just wonderful.

Then, get stuck into a Master League, remember how hard it is to grind a result with that awful starter team (or you can use the real players if you prefer), and tell us your career story over in The Retro-PES Corner. Thanks Chris I will have a look at that. I have been playing a vanilla PES 5 on Original Xbox recently.

I have said this a few times in chats with others. Have a separate set of game settings for those who love 200mph Neymar, Mbappe fests in FUT and a completely different set of game settings for Career Mode and Online Seasons / Co-Op Seasons where the game is at a realistic pace, Tricks are fewer and further between and a game that actually rewards you for using your brain and playing football....

I am a dreamer....

Agreed. I feel like EA have all the tech in place to make a great game, but their focus on FUT just ruins the gameplay.
