FIFA 17 News & Discussion Thread

Not on kick off mode(cant say about career mode).. i tried 2 EPL teams, u get EPL adboards but no presentation and scoreboard like in Fifa16..

Also to mention, very few new starheads this year, i was hoping for the relegated teams to get some (Aston villa for exemple had lots of missing players) but no... id say its the worst year in terms of new stadiums, starheads and such.

On the other side, Graphics look incredible and gameplay is very enjoyable atm.

Hey Bruno, long time no talk, glad to see you still around and enjoying the game!

What do you mean by 'starheads' ?

Hey man! yeh, long time, anyway u know, the scanned faces (custom faces)...

Was it updated since the last update a few days ago that was talked about on here you mean? Or you're just a bit behind the times?
I might be behind. Just interested to see if EA did what they did with the beta and gave us an update worse than the first.

Yeah so it seems Wolly from Matt's stream. It seems odd they have the replay logo licensed and not the actual Premier League scoreboard though. Hopefully someone will tweet the devs to ask about that.

They always add the promoted team starheads around November so maybe there will be other ones added then?

Here you go...

Downloaded update on XOne. It seems like responsiveness is better now. Players reacting faster when you press buttons. Nothing else. Pace and AI seem to be unchanged. Tactic and personal instructions still working. I will play few more games today to be 110%.

*Update*

Played around 15 games after patch on Professional. I can confirm responsiveness has been changed. It's better now. Nothing else changed. I hope EA won't spoil this game in the final release or further patches.

Referees wearing spray but they are not using it during free-kick. I don't remember if they used it before or not.

Had a few games with the EA Access version this morning.

Only had chance to play a few, but with the lower-league teams, and gameplay on slow, it's great! Definite improvements, players feel weightier, it seemed like a fair game on World Class. Less cheesing from the AI from what I could see, but it feels quite unique in that teams seem to have spells of possession, it's not just constant back-and-forth. I scored a goal in the first match, and from then on the AI was a lot more protective of the ball, without being overly aggressive in attack.

But as soon as I pick top-tier teams, they're a bit too light again and it's too fast. I find it difficult to enjoy playing as the PL teams because, to me, it feels like controlling 11 shopping bags in the wind. (I know we've got sliders - it just seems like a shame, especially for those of us who like to play online occasionally.)

The presentation is stunning - they knew what they were doing with the "game half installed, play this demo match for a bit" didn't they? Fly-by around Wembley, fully FA Cup branded intro, the flamethrowers behind the goal, the party atmosphere.

Graphically it's absolutely amazing, no doubt.

I've loved the last few FIFA's and really am enjoying PES 17.

I still should buy this shouldn't I? I can probably get it tomorrow

I think I will get it but will wait until the PS Pro is out so its something to look forward to.

I'm still enjoying PES and not started a ML, so will do that I think.

I was watching this live stream last night of a guy playing career mode I put the video to the time he started the match what a fantastic game he had well worth a watch

Edit: Skip to 2 hrs 24 mins for the best game

Wow, that's quite the bombshell statement to end on, especially for IGN - i.e., to paraphrase, "we're back to the days of PES = gameplay and FIFA = presentation" (horribly simplified obviously).

Which is how it was back in the day. You longed for the two games to merge. The Empire Strikes Back!

Oh no, that's what I found with 16. I like the 17 demo though so fingers crossed. But I've learned from 16 to work the sliders around the top teams first! As I get em lovely for less rated teams but they fall apart as soon as I go near the top teams. Have to say though in real life Man City are pretty much playing like they do in Fifa 16!??
