FIFA 17 News & Discussion Thread

I can't stop playing this. I told myself that I would give PES a fair crack and stay away from this until release but it's just so good.

I am going to stick with PES 2017 as well but I think I definitely prefer this demo to the full game of PES. It's more fun.

That's what always annoys me about Fifa demo's, is the fact that you can't save your settings, I also play Fifa with PES buttons so X or Square is shoot, and change the defensive controls to match PES too. So annoying to have to change these settings everytime I load the demo up!
i know it's completely amazing they don't give us user settings..

I've found that as per norm with fifa professional difficulty is a smidge too easy but world class is a smidge too hard with cheese and input reading ai moments.

Switched my camera back to broadcast on pro difficulty and it evened out. Not sure why I find it harder to play like that but I had to grind out a 1-1 draw vs Real rather than the easy 3-0 I had on normal cam with like most of the possession and Real had 1 shot all match.

After a little more play time. I’m gonna say two things:

1. Why on earth does EA even have Camera sliders?!?!? Nothing moves anyway.

2. Some of you might not agree. But I think you’ll see my point over time. The button delay or slight lag adds a layer of depth this game really needs! Without this in it. This game would have no thought required.

I don't think I've ever been so confused in my life. I'm honestly in shock about what people are saying about this game, I almost want to make a video on it...

That's ok, I'll check back on here months from now and everyone will have 180 degree opinion changes and I'll be here to say i told you so and welcome to the dark side :COOPZ:

You say that hoping patches don’t change everything

Finally played the demo it was better than I thought.
Some nice touches but the player models are odd.
Had a good game as Chelsea v psg. Drew 1-1

yeah, broadcast camera doesn't zoom at all........
yes players need to be in proper position to pass/shoot i use L2 to get them in position quicker

It has to be said, the graphics are incredible.

Played this with a friend last night and it was just back-and-forth attack-to-attack for 90 minutes, but the graphics are a whole new level. Even the faces - I know PES is considered the king of faces, but FIFA in motion is another level.

Looks like tactics are finally working again this year:

Adding to that, did anybody find it great to play against Chelsea? They do play different from others, offering long balls to Costa and Hazard on the wings.

Got to admit, that looks impressive.

But my concern is... What difficulty level is that played on? (I've asked the YouTuber, I don't know if it's you!)

If that's on Professional, I'm not overly surprised, but I find it too easy - but I think on World Class and Legendary any tactics are overwritten.

Dont't agree........ Graphics in Pes 2017 looks better specially stadiums and crowd. Grass in FIFA looks better and night lighting. Day lighting looks better in Pes. Animations? I really don't see nothing special in FIFA 17. I asked my wife to see both games and her objective opinion which game looks better. She said Pes looks better and animations, movements in both games looks similar. I agree with her. Fifa 09 in motion was in another level compare to Pes 2009 but for god sake not FIFA 17 to Pes 2017.

Thank god. Repetitive tiki taka CPU was killing my inside.

The game feels slower and I love it this way. I haven't seen or felt the dreaded skating that I despise in Fifa at all. I've also tried impossible angle blind passes and many have gone the wrong way. I actually have to receive the ball first, trap it, hold it, look around and try to move the player to a direction so as to produce a good accurate pass. This is good!

Also, maybe I'm in the minority, but I really welcome The Journey story mode. Something new, fresh and different. Hopefully next year they can allow us to customize the player and choose from a selection of voices.

agree, the players movement on the ball and realistic dribbling is beautiful using inside outside of foot.
also everything in this game is uniform detail wise playing it with broadcast camera.
3d grass/pitch/night games look best, when i'm playing it's looking like a real game.
ball doesn't seem as floaty with a closer camera like broadcast.

@P34SEMM I hope not. As always though I play on slow speed so maybe that's why? But it definitely feels different and slower/more realistic compared to previous Fifas.

On World Class, tried switching Bayern's tactic from default to preset Long Ball. Indeed there was a difference, they didn't keep pinging it in every direction but they played it long whenever they had the chance. Then changed it to Possession and this was where it felt pronounced. They kept it short and passed it around the back.

Things are looking more promising than last year.

Yeah Lami, this is the best football game in terms of footplanting..

That is lovely news! Still waiting for confirmation on sliders in retail, that's a big deal!
