FIFA 17 News & Discussion Thread

LOL, I'm so stupid. I watched two videos. The Chelsea one and the ManCity one. I was talking about the Manchester City v.s Manchester United video, but must have copied the wrong link!
I hope you can find the one you mean! :D

This a great video! Lot more midfield. Not running straight towards goal. The kind of video PES players like me would love if it was PES of course.

I have no doubt about it this year. FIFA. Love every single bit of it. And I want to reward EA for always putting PC up at the top.

why are there freezes in game. Game just freezes for a second.

Everything's looking fine in Fifa 17. But man, they haven't fixed the night lights and colors for faks sake! I think they like it dark. Atleast the contrast of the mow patterns in night matches have been increased.

Btw, why day matches are too dark? I hope cloudy weather is still bright and shiny like it was in Fifa 16 (In Fifa 16 clear weather is darkknight).

Atleast the dusk weather in Fifa 17 is looking gay and cheerful :D

Question to beta testers: is the player movements is reaponsive like Fifa 16 or is it horribly laggy like Fifa 14 and Pes 14?

To answer the person who asked if Leicester played direct it was a mixture of short / long passing so far i would say the AI is a bit more varied than 16 just dont expect a quantum leap we are talking small improvements here

so far on legendary i have conceded all sorts of goals i think they were telling the truth about the AI being more direct this year they certainly use long balls more (Then did in the 16 demo which vanished full game) and if they have no option to pass they will hold up the ball waiting for support seen this happen multiple times. I believe team tactics do work playing vs man utd and man city it was your typical barca passing play in spurts tho not the whole 90min and vs aston villa and Leicester there was no major barca passing that i recall just more direct shortest way to goal routes

Have a question for those with the beta do you think scoring inside the box is a bit too easy at the moment? I need to test it more

Maybe to highlight that FIFA 17 (generally today football games) have taken the easy road? Pass forward, run, score... and put that in a loop.

:WORSHIP:Nailed it!

someone really teach me how to put gif's.

one would be very appropriate here.

It's funny how much joy people take in tearing something apart.

That particular video looks pretty poor to me too (in-fact I repeatedly said so a couple of hours ago).

But I don't get the need to gloat about it as if you've got shares in the anti-EA/FIFA bandwagon...

It's disappointing, not a victory... For anyone...

Personally I don't play on line so multi player videos don't worry me. That being said it must be difficult to give players more or less unlimited freedom of movement and the expect them to play football ..most players will just do anything to win on any multi player game not just football ones

Same old run run run forward/make impossible 100% percent correct 1 touch passes and shoot or crash into defender.
Huge gaps between defensive and midfield lines so attacker can easily waltz to opponents goal (hopefully can be fixed with sliders-line length, marking)
Laser guided 1-touch passes (hopefully can be fixed by switching to manual passing)

Animations look smoother than in 16. Ball physics also looks good.

Thanx mate, that's,well "ok" news, better than 16 is ok.
Wish for more individuality,Southend hoofing it,and Swansea/Barcelona short passing.
And teams like BVB going more direct.
And small adjustm not aren't acceptable, that's what's been done last ,what 4-5 years.
With their budget, this should be epic.period!

On the contrary, for me this year they've nailed night, day and dusk lighting. Turfs look PERFECT (finally!!!) this time around.

Some people are nets-lovers, I myself obsess over turfs/pitch and I'm so satisfied with everything I'm seeing in that regard. Maybe just a little more greenish vibrance using SweetFX (about 15%) and that'll be it for me.

But hey... it's just my opinion.

I haven't been so excited about a football game since PES 2013 I think. I'm 28 years old and I barely get excited over games anymore, but I get the feeling I'll be so pleased with FIFA this year. I enjoyed 16 so much and all these new little touches are lovely for me.

I can't understand how people can't tell the difference graphics-wise between Ignite and Frostbite. From the gameplay camera everything looks so real. However cutscenes and cinematics are a different thing, I think PES looks a lot better this year in that matter. But let's be honest, you don't play cinematics, you play with the gameplay camera so that's what matters. There's like a subtle blur effect (like the one Konami used in PES 2012 and PES 2013) which makes everything so smooth and real.

Couldn't agree more.

The reality is that A) they don't want to change it too much and lose sales as a consequence, because it's about minimum risk to one of their most financially rewarding products, and B) their most financially-rewarding audience is the mostly young FUT audience that spends real money on imaginary cards, and want to score 10 goals a game with 10 Ronaldos on the pitch.

As for the team tactics etc., there's another poster in this thread with the beta who said they experienced Bournemouth playing the same way (and finishing with the same statistics) as Barcelona. Very worrying.

Early impression (about six games in on WC, a few in Premier League and a few in Championship) I am really, really liking the gameplay. Substantial differences in matches, some great new animations (sideline dispossessions among the most notable--your players work to keep it in rather than punting it out every time), and varied opportunities for human and AI. Feel like with a few gameplay tweaks via sliders it can surpass 16. Haven't felt cheated (other than slightly elevated CPU first touch and passing %) in any way, which is nice.

As for CM, still no substantial changes that I've noticed/dug into. Other than new goals I'm not certain we'll be getting much. Going to try to get to Jan. window with one of my saves to see what transfers are like.

Loving lighting as well, and haven't created enough in-box chances to know if it's too easy! Being well tested on WC.

So glad to read some positives...

Are you finding all teams play the same way, though? Are you seeing significant differences when you get to the stats at half time or do you always have the same possession, pass accuracy etc.?

What kind of results are you getting? Does it feel too easy, too hard?

Great , I will listen to this seeing you've actually played it ..pre order time

Don't base a pre-order on me!! Just some early thoughts after playing a continued stretch. Two nights ago when I first started I really didn't like it, but settled in a bit to the change in pace, inertia, etc. Passing seems slowed down significantly so I upped power bar, which has helped.

Will be playing later for a while and will pay more attention to stats, etc. Without looking specifically I can say for sure CPU passing is still inflated, and like I said, first touch needs some fixing.

As far as variation, I just switched from PL to Championship and noticed some that way. Feel like patient buildup is rewarded, and deliberate defending forces the CPU to rethink a bit. Closing down space, pressing smartly rather than chasing, etc.

Yeah, thats very worrying mate, even though I'm the "other game" first as you know.
Still enjoy FIFA and wants it to be good, not just a 16,1
