FIFA 17 News & Discussion Thread

The animations are a bit too fast (some of the running animations are cartoonish at that speed), and I was desperate to see Sunderland do something, but, decent video.

Thats true.
But something I'm overlooking since FIFA 15.

When you watch replays in a slower speed most of the animations look very lifelike.

Hopefully they'll get this right someday.

RE: stats, no surprise that passing for CPU was regularly >85% and it's noticeable during the match. Very few errant passes other than crosses and first touches that are unerring.

See, the problem I have with adjusting the CPU pass error in FIFA 16 is that when you turn it up, it doesn't alter their passing in an "organic" fashion. Instead they just randomly boot the ball for throw ins even when they're under no pressure whatsoever, or their crosses end up rocketing off in some odd direction.

Now THAT is the first video I've thoroughly enjoyed. Brilliant.

The passes are still RIDICULOUSLY hard / fast (it looks like the guy is using the "hard pass" modifier constantly and not being punished for it by anyone's first touch), and the running animations are stupidly fast. But for the former there's pass speed sliders (plus first touch sliders), and for the latter, "slow" game speed.

But it looked difficult to get build-up play going, Leicester were as direct as they are in reality, and when the guy scored, the AI didn't start playing cheat football and get an instant equaliser.

I need part two... I want to see Leicester score...

He's using R2 pass the majority there, it's not as fast as that normally.

First touch/Ball control seems less important (ball seems to be controlled with ease regardless of pass speed) and ball physics looks very weird with the sudden sharp passes(especially when player is facing away from target).

Not liking what I'm seeing so far. Too much emphasis on aesthetics which doesn't look that great once in motion.

That's what I suspect. If you can use it without any kind of risk so easily, though, who's going to use normal passes? They need to up the first touch error for those passes.

The game looks stunning which is a bonus ..but the way the AI mix up attacking styles looks really cool ..looking forward to it but so busy with work leading up to I reckon release day is going to drag

is there no long pass button in fifa?? its all ping pong on the floor

Why play long ball for the sake of it..I'm calling troll as it's widely known there's a long ball button..that being said there weren't that many one touch passes in that video and when there was the player was facing the right direction and the passing animation was good so hardly ping pong..don't want to compare to pes but in one video the player went box to box with 7 one touch passes then goal..with players facing the opposite direction of the pass so essentially passing blind..that's ping pong

so you're a troll by mentioning "long ball?"
To me ,the only thing that made 16 a "not so good game" is the fact,no long balls.
FIFA 17 needs to address that, otherwise, don't have to agree, every team plays exactly the same, only difference between teams will be individual skills.
And that would make 17 a shit boring game,a game for the FUTers.
I don't want that,do you?

im
only asking a question, surely as a football game its fundamentally broken if you don't need to use a long pass button at any time, this goes for all football games
