FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

The game needs a difficulty slider or more difficulty levels at least. I've always thought something between pro and world class would work for me in FIFA.

Agreed, or more sliders to adjust the AI. There are many hidden stat boosts to their ninja reactions and tackling ability they get on WC/Legendary which we cannot easily adjust. Here's hoping the modders get their teeth stuck in again.

had a cracking game on manual pro level against PSG. 3 - 3 in the last minute and the defender pulls costa's shirt giving me a penalty to win the game..looked very good.

I've not had a single handball decision yet!

i have had one but ive noticed that players keep their arms by their side which is good so stop any cheap pens..just had another match on WC level and was 2 down..i missed some sitters though as manual feels tougher on shooing this year..The AI got a corner with 2 mins to go and played it short and kept shielding the ball next tot he flag and winning corners off me..was frustrating but very lifelike to waste time

Best lighting for me is Overcast - Day, pretty impressive actually. Also the filter used in the highlights would be a really good effect for night games under floodlights

Runs pretty smoothly at 1080p/High on my system apart from the occasional rare hitch.

Coming from having played a bunch of FIFA 11 recently... this year they appear to have replaced these professional athletes with rubbery geriatrics, for whom the very idea of a change of direction is received as an unpleasant suggestion that might be completed some time in the distant future (treacle permitting).

Perhaps this is why tactical defending is a contentious topic. The beauty of tactical defending in the past was that you could jockey dribblers and jockey into passing lanes to deny progress, for which you require responsiveness and a bit of a sharper first step.

At first glance of FIFA 15 you may as well attempt to tactically defend with ten shopping trolleys.

I also had a very quick fiddle with the player instructions. As Man City, I told Fernandinho to stay back when attacking.

Two minutes later, when Aguero dropped back to receive a pass in midfield... who was that Brazilian guy making a forward run beyond him?

Don't mix up Fernandinho with Fernando :CONFUSE: :SMUG:

The fouls etc from the AI too are superb at least it should make offline a bit more interesting.

I'm finding them a tad too aggressive for my taste. They like to dive in at any opportunity, either taking the man or allowing me to skip by them.

Yeah this was a pet hate of FIFA 14 for me. Shame that the instructions don't prevent it either. Counter-attacking would be much less effective if you had one or two men sitting deeping. What happens now is everyone bombs forward, so you're fucked if hit on the break.

One of my biggest pet peeves too, and it doesn't seem fixed. Plus, even if the individual instructions do the trick, it still means that CPU teams will have those gaps in the middle.

Which leads to another question I haven't heard anything about - will CPU teams have individual player instructions? I assume the answer is no, since it looks like based on the demo all instructions are set to default.

On one hand I can understand why that makes sense, starting off with default and letting people tweak from there, but on the other hand it'd be a massive missed opportunity for introducing new levels of team variability when playing against the CPU.

Why is the AI constantly holding the ball in front of the corner flag, like they do in real life, in the final minutes of the game? the only way for me is to tackle and get a yellow or red card. really annoying.

Hmm. Try to press RB/R2 to get your team to press him. Dunno.

i think this is a good feature , it would make no sense the AI being one nil up in the last few minutes and taking unnecessary risks

Have EA acknowledged the issue with the ai choosing to pass to a defender on goal kick rather than hoofing it? I'm hoping that's fixed as its really irritating.

Loving all the little new animations still. I had a great one where id took a shot that came back off the keeper right on the line and dzeko I think panicked and was flinging his legs scrambling to get it in... It just looked wonderful as he scuffed his shots and stretched for the ball and then stood head in hands.
I also love that players aren't being artificially boosted to get passes and they'll now slip or stumble attempting to get the ball. It looks lovely when a player makes a run, stops, but you passed and now instead or sliding/warping to get the ball they'll panic and stick out a leg, or try to re run and slip.
Not to mention all the new trip/fall animations. They look awesome when you've got two players barging each other for the ball.

The AI on legendary just attack, they just bludgeon forward the whole game, no backward passing almost ever. And slider settings don't seem to make a huge difference anymore. Or just maye cos it's the demo.

World Class seems to be a nicer pace and the AI are much mor human.
