FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

Finally got to play the PS4 demo. Other than the player models, which still look inexplicably poor in my opinion, it looks terrific on my TV. Besides that though, it's the same old story for me on the field -- I play about 1.5 games and this massive feeling of apathy comes across me. Irritating really as I always want to love FIFA on the field like I do off it.
 
Finally got to download the demo on 360. It looks like the time and weather is locked though. Feels decent. Noticed the ball physics have been improved and shooting isn't very accurate if your body shape is wrong. Although certain shots felt like they had no acceleration. Not sure if that was because I was playing on dynamic cam and the screen was trying to keep up?

Will probably buy an Xbox One with FIFA bundle but if not, I wouldn't be upset if I bought this on 360 from what I've seen on the demo.
 
Done with the demo now.

Waiting on full release. Hopefully they haven't changed too much. Loves the demo.

Cant wait to do a epl season. Dat presentation and atmosphere man!!!
 
I'll be playing it tomorrow as I have the EA Access now.

6 hours only, but I'll make the £20 back by selling BF4 and Need for Speed which are also available for me to download from the EA Vault.
 
Been testing the demo on PC for a couple of days too.

My first impression was a bit mixed up.
I´m actually more of a PES gamer and I think the last FIFA I really played a lot was FIFA 13 on the PS3.

The gameplay is nice though, graphics, keeper animations and physics too and all that little details add up to a very nice overall impression (Ball guys throwing a ball back in, bobbys for security @ premier league etc).
The presentation is top notch.

Had my cousin from London over the weekend and we played it till 4 am in the morning. This game on multiplayer on the same console/PC is pure joy.

A few things I don´t like though are some body models (Lambert looks like a beast) and a few animations. Sprinting looks very nice but some animations look odd like when a player is gaining speed or running (not sprinting) without a ball.
Also when I had a chance but missed it, the game shows me the replay of the last goal instead of that chance, sometimes.

Anyhow, the more I play it, the more I like it.
If PES is gonna disappoint me big time, I´ll be playing FIFA 15 for sure.

If not, I´ll probably play both.

Yeah thats too close for me. I still need to see some of the pitch for short passes.

Just 1 of my 10 FIFA mates could play on dynamic zoomed in :SMUG: Does anybody know how to use the radar? The most helpful thing in football games but still a lot of people are horribly ignoring it. I love all the details of pitch, shoes, players, ball. However, in this year (hopefully only in the demo), dynamic camera max in is not that close as it was in previous titles.

PES 6 "Close" camera with max settings in was just AWESOME.

This. I refuse to play on tele camera. Dynamic camera (zoomed in) gives you so much more detail. I love it!

I've started using Co-op camera last night on Fifa 14. Custom zoom of 2 and height of 2.

It's actually very good. I'd certainly recommend folk try it.

I've been using it for a long time.The perfect camera to defend as a team and spot your teammates runs and positioning.
 
I also switched to Co-op camera last night, probably my favourite so far although I haven't tweaked any of the settings for it. I'll make more of an effort to find the ideal camera for me once I start playing the full game.
 
Regarding the horrific player models for some players (Lambert being a prime example) just a simple edit from muscular to lean/regular for his body type should do the trick, hopefully there'll be a simple way to change all muscular body types to regular at the click of a few buttons (PC obviously).
 
Getting a bit fed up with so much commentary about the world cup, silly I know but its just annoying. Apart from that though, loving the demo ;-)
 
The World Cup commentary lines happen every single match - it's annoying enough from the few days playing this demo... Over the course of a whole season, or multiple seasons in Career mode it would drive me insane. I wish they had an option to turn off all that superfluous crap but keep the stuff just related to the game/competition in progress. Don't they usually have two English commentary teams (Andy Townsend and someone)? Perhaps they didn't record so much extra crap for the second pair.

I may even switch it to Spanish/Mexican in the full game so there is some commentary, but I can't get annoyed by what they're saying because I don't understand it. They're also likely to be more entertaining when a goal goes in ("GOL GOL GOL!!!!" :D). I might even leave it completely off and just have the crowd/match SFX.
 
I agree with you guys. But thats probably just due to limited files cause its just demo. Waiting full.
I hope that X1 will havmd Custom audio again. Love that feature. Also many teams dont have chants. First example is Napoli, who only have some "generic italian" chants which use many teams in Italy, so i would like to add original fans chants to all teams.
 
I’m a veteran pesfan (apart from PES 2014 which was bad) and haven’t bought FIFA since 09 and 10, and even played an all manual league in 09 with some members of this site (dudu, honome, klashman etc.) but eventually tired of 09, then 10 quite abruptly.

My pros and cons of the FIFA 15 demo, xbox 360 version:

+real time jostling/collision physics are amazing
+player instructions are a good idea (pes used to have them but ditched them)
+dribbling is improved
+movement physics (momentum/inertia/footplanting) improved
+gameplan made easier like pes


-too fast, slow should be the default speed
-easier to play as a ping-pong passing, kick and run game (on default speed)
-controlling players without the ball is too imprecise and fiddly
-player individuality still not on pes 2013 level
-movement physics (momentum/inertia/footplanting) still not on pes level
-dribbling system still not on pes 2013 level (better than pes 2014)
-most players can dribble too easily

Agreed... I've hated the last few 360/PS3 versions of FIFA but really enjoy the 15 demo on PC. It is miles better than last gen in every aspect.

It really is. :))

I'm a harsh critic of FIFA but I can't lie, FIFA15 has really got me. It's kind of like those classic PES games - I disliked it at first but with every passing day it's drawn me in and I'm enjoying the game more and more.

FIFA usually has a short honeymoon period with me but what I'm enjoying this year is the ball physics and the uncertainty and randomness that can occur as a result of poor touches, passes and shots. Passing is solid, shooting feels good and I'm seeing a good variety of goals. Even player individuality feels like a step up, although not akin to PES at its best. Individuality is overplayed in recent PES games anyway.

There's still plenty wrong with FIFA but I think the transition to next-gen is a genuine step forward for the series. Gameplay aside, the game looks and runs great on the PC and the presentation is top notch.

I just hope it doesn't all come crashing down at some point.
 
I'm loving the demo now too. Once you accept you can't always get the ball back in a hurry like in old gen FIFA, defending isn't so bad.

And the attacking options are immense.

My biggest worry is they'll f*ck up Career Mode again, with the terrible CPU/AI scripting where crap teams are amazing, great teams are crap, and your teammates have lobotomies before each important match.
