FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

Finally got to play the PS4 demo. Other than the player models, which still look inexplicably poor in my opinion, it looks terrific on my TV. Besides that though, it's the same old story for me on the field -- I play about 1.5 games and this massive feeling of apathy comes across me. Irritating really as I always want to love FIFA on the field like I do off it.

Its like you read my mind. I feel exactly the same.
It looks fantastic.
Everything is there in FIFA for me to love but halfway through the 2nd game Im bored and turn it off.

I'm loving the demo now too. Once you accept you can't always get the ball back in a hurry like in old gen FIFA, defending isn't so bad.
Exactly this.

I played yesterday with Barcelona against City, and I rushed for the ball like a stupid 12 year old FUT player : I got raped 5-1 (and I enjoyed it :D )

Defending is hard so you have to be patient, as in real life football.

One of the best things for me is the manual long balls... They have really felt nerfed in the last few versions with low trajectories and too much pace, but the physics and animations are excellent this time around. It looks great when you ping the ball 50-60 yards diagonally to switch and advance the play, or occasionally even get in behind.

It's by no means perfect, there's a lot of room for improvement, but it feels like a very solid game and I'm confident that it will satisfy my football game craving until the next iteration, which I haven't been able to say for years about FIFA.

So how will you guys be spending your 6 hours?

I think i'm starting a career mode with either Aalborg BK, Liverpool, Swansea or Spurs.

Can't decide on who to start with :) Even though I am leaning toward a PL team, as the presentation is superb.

Im going to be checking out some of the Premier League teams/stadiums. Well pumped for Fifa this year!

There's your problem, try it on next gen/PC, night and day, next gen is worlds apart from current gen now IMO.

I haven't had a gaming pc since 2005-2009, and don't intend to build another rig for now, maybe later but not right now. I'm also holding off on buying a new console till they have enough games I'm interested in to make it worthwhile; so for now I'll (belatedly) play last gen versions. Same goes for PES, even though I'm a fan.

I'm primarily an online gamer now as well, so custom sliders, lowering the game speed, legacy defending etc. might make the game better offline, but will be of limited/no use online. The default/vanilla game is what I have to use.

I'll eventually play the 'next gen' versions. But I'm cautious over FIFA's default game, even on 'next gen', because of the way EA have approached/designed the default game since 09.

Any tips on shooting from just outside the box?

Seems if I use finesse and 75% power its almost always on target and the keeper almost always parries the ball over or wide.
But If I use a typical laces shot (just shoot and the direction) and I use less power, it almost always goes into row Z.

Seems broken.

What shooting method are you using? Semi/manual shooting i haven't had a problem. the big thing i noticed and what most people don't realise is that the ball to foot ratio, and ball roll movment makes a big impact on shooting physics. It's ver realistic

When people get the full version, please post full vs demo comparisons (speed and anims and flow mainly), very interested to see if EA have ridden the ghost of the previous 2 years or not.

There'll be plenty more bugs found I'm sure, which will hopefully be rectified by a day one patch.

Think the trial version is available at 6pm GMT.

Only 6 hours EA getting right stingy all of sudden what happened to early access play as much as you like?

The EA Access is giving users the opportunity to download many games for free, including BF4, Fifa 14, NHL 14, Madded 25 etc. etc.

As well as play several games 5 days before their release date to get a taster of what to expect.

As you say, 6 hours, however, isn't enough IMO.

Lots of folk already planning to bulk their Be A Pro or try to get a headstart on their Ultimate Team. Those hours will literally fly by.

I had an issue with this game where players were stuttering and game was playing bit too fast which I didn't like, I then dropped my resolution to 720p on my ps4 and wow it plays so much better and I cannot get enough of this game, looking forward to release day.

Are you being ironic? These injuries have been in the game for at least 3-4 years by now
