FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

I've had the last days free and have put in 20+ hours already testing. Glad to hear others are enjoying Slow and Pro and Legacy Defending. The AI plays a really great and fair game. It reminds me of Shorelooser's CL tweaks from FIFA 14.

Boost the opposition AI man marking slider to 55 or more if you want them harder to break down. You can up their run frequency to 55 to make them a bit more potent in attack too.

If you find your defenders still on walkabout, set your team's custom tactics/defensive width to ~30 and defensive aggression to ~60-70. Combined with manually blocking passing lanes, it makes it much less of a chore to contain the AI, and they have to work hard to get a balanced shot off.

Other slider changes I have if anyone likes these above. Run speed 54, pass speed 53 for player and AI (Slow, Pro).

Of course for those you who have lightening reflexes and love the challenge most of all, this advice does not apply. I just want to feel I am on the same playing field as the AI and have great games. With these settings most of my virtual football dreams are coming true.

I still think they need to tweak the defending a tad as I was able to run into the penalty box with Oscar from kick off without much pressure on world class, which is worrying. If they can sort that out and fix the keepers it will be a solid game.

Exactly. I am usually not into dribbling but I can easily run&dribble with fast player like Insigne/Cavani for 70 meters all the way to the goal.

Also set your midfielders to high defence and lower line length with slider.

Playing PS4 demo on World Class (no slider settings. semi passing, manual everything else) Battled at first, now loving it.

I'm dishing out hidings with PSG, also keeping alot of clean sheets. Enjoy that tactical changes actaully help and that the CPU play more life like (they foul, hold the ball, get dirty and desperate.) Also loving the inertia of the dribbling.

Shooting is a tad off.

Yep the more i play the more i love this.

The tactical changes work, the player instructions work. As a single player only this is huge.

This is a definite improvement on 14.

Still not on the field yet. Planning on getting an R7 250 1GD5. About time but the budget ain't stretchable. How good would it do? Fire at me.

Really would love to hear your thoughts on player physique. Do Messi and Mertesacker appear to have the same height? That's extreme but..

Hearing the midfield battles which somehow stood out in 14 has just disappeared. Fired up 14 just to see how much weight players had and how much strong players had an impact. Any of these toned down?

I made my keeper do "crazy legs" last night - think I just pressed X (but maybe with R2 as well).

Maybe it can only be done during a penalty shoot-out rather than a mid-game peno?

Did EA really remove some of the features in team management menu?
- man marking of specific player
- changing work rates and attacking/defensive direction of specific player
- viewing opponents formation and players
- checking number of available subs/subs made

Maybe 2 is in the edit formation part which we don't have access to in the demo?

1,3 and 4 would be pretty silly if correct, although obviously you wouldn't put it past EA.

Admittedly the lack of man marking wouldn't bother me as I stopped using it about 3 years ago when I realised that if you man mark with your CB they will be in attack when you have to defend a freekick/corner, nice little EA bug they never bothered to fix.

"One final slight feature was, “Man Marking”. It can be selected from the Pause screen. As it sounds, the user is able to select one of their players to mark an opponent’s player."

So that seems to imply it's there?

Maybe Scorpio can tell us or anyone who played the beta?

would like to see you play a game on legendary with tactical defending, or show a video where someone is able to get the ball in midfield from the cpu more than once per game

not hating btw, really curious, i'm trying everything, maybe i will set the first touch sliders to 0

Indeed. Is there anyone here whos playing on the highest levels (worldclass/professional) and not having a problem to defend ?

For me personaly, CPU is very artificial, the way it plays doesn't reflect players atributes, it's "bullshit"

I am downloading it again cause I want to give it another try, but this time at pro level and manual passing, it may ne more balanced and realistic.

EA hate Messi. he gets shoves off the ball pretty easily.

What is the first touch button? How do I trap a ball without it going a meter away from me?

I've got a good feeling with the game finally, in terms of globality it's very fun to play.

A french guy who makes JV videos on youtube have posted this...

YouTube - FIFA 15 | Ces putains de volées ! / Volleys are OP !

He says that he doesn't have do anything with sliders... Believe it or not, and that even if there isn't that "bug", he likes the Fifa 15 flow and gonna buy it whatever. "Volley's are OP"
You can try and test if he's right
That happens when you can have shooting set to "auto" and all of these assistances.
Every kid can pick overrated players and destroy it.
I would have it set to manual by default and only allow semi.
And then I wouldn't sell millions of copies, but I would be happy :P

I am playing world class and with legacy defending I can defend ok and steal / intercept many balls from CPU, just like in previous FIFAs.

Im playing on professional right now and I'm stating to really like the game.

I like challenging games, specially when it comes to football games, but I don't want a game that feels unbalanced with an artificial CPU AI.

On professional the improvements star to be more clear than ever. I am stating to see that players like Iniesta can indeed be a key player, he's skilfull on the ball and dribbling with just the left stick can be effective to open space with him.

World class/legendary doesn't provide a realistic challange for me.

But I want to improve and if the professional level starts to feel easy, I am going to change to world class again.

I really like this game on manual and the problem I have is with the lock-on mechanism for tackling, which seems problematic considering how easy it is to tackle a player and then instantly control the ball. The ball is never actually loose and there's a lot of situations where you basically end up running into the defender, retrieving the ball as part of the running action itself. It's too easy/simple.

Ha, good find! More Dudek than Brucie but still good.

Hawkes found a cracking tutorial the post after mine.

Looking forward to trying to put my mates off pointing in a direction whilst talking shit before they take their peno
