FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

A decent demo that should have been as close to final code as possible.
As a long time pes player EA should have at least put out a demo that will make me want to buy it, the same goes for Konami

I deleted the demo.

I scored some nice goals but I found abolutetly zero enjoyment, nothing remarkable.

I know sliders could tweak the game so it could be more balanced, but Im not gonna waste my time on that. CPU is a joke and thats it.

I recorded a very short video showing how atributes mean nothing to CPU in terms of ball controll. Every players move gliding amd turning at super high speed and pass so quickly, and any player can find a man with freedom like they all have a super team vision.

And on top of that the game feels very unbalanced towards attack when cpu has the ball. I feel that the game simply doesnt offer a good way to contain and time my tackles, I can hardly make a physical contact with cpu players, they are almost untouchabel, always turn in a split of a second giving me no chamce to actually fight for the ball possesion.

I had no fun so I decided to delete, no point tryjng it again and again.

also another issue that might occur, there new dribbling system once mastered, you will be able to get around players with almost anyone providing you get the timing right.

I've got a good feeling with the game finally, in terms of globality it's very fun to play.

A french guy who makes JV videos on youtube have posted this...

YouTube - FIFA 15 | Ces putains de volées ! / Volleys are OP !

He says that he doesn't have do anything with sliders... Believe it or not, and that even if there isn't that "bug", he likes the Fifa 15 flow and gonna buy it whatever. "Volley's are OP"
You can try and test if he's right

If you having hard time to get the ball from the CPU, that's simply because you're not good enough on defending. Like most of people here have mentioned, it is difficult especially on Tactical Defending. If you dont' have the patience to master the skill, why not try the legacy defending, where you can press the button for your love to see your player relentlessly chasing the opponent without the need for you to do anything else.

Else, deleting the demo could help your effort in mastering the game. Maybe.

its these kind of videos that give fifa a bad name

I think that's useful to try to find bugs, and report them to EA... Now that we can communicate with them and have corrective patches.
Guys like him makes good job and tries to find bugs, but it will be better to not share that with everyone, and send the video directly to the EA community... The question is "do they really care about things like that?"

hopefully it gets sorted come release.

I grew up on 'Match Day'
Match pace is just perfect on that :P

Jokes apart, hats off to the French guy creating a video to document the 'volleys exploit' but... He should have sent it to Rob directly instead of showing it around. Now we'll have 'crazy volleyers' everywhere until it's sorted (EA, you better fix it directly upon release, please let us download an already fixed version from Origin).
I don't really care about it as I plan to play manual and play against manual people, but FUT (Y U NO make 'controls' filter in FUT? ) would be a mess if they don't patch that.

The guy wants view on his channel at first... I think that idea to report to Rob not even goes through his mind

Played a few games last night. Its still my typical love/hate relationship with the game but id say about 70% hate. PES has to be the master of fucks up again for me to go with Fifa this year.

The worse each PES is the more Adam dials up the hyperbole so signs are PES will be awful this year judging by the PES v Fifa war he's trying to stir up slagging off Fifa to anyone who'll listen.

I am loving the demo. I find the AI dribbling and reaction stat boosts at World Class and Legendary terribly unrealistic and frustrating, as well as their perfect tackles on those levels. On Slow Pro, with sliders adjusted to give the AI a marking edge and buildup edge, it's simply just magic.

The customization possible with the tactics are simply fantastic this year. I ADORE the PES style hexagon and the Y button to suggest subs too.

Played a few games last night and went from "this is awesome" to frustration and boredom. Worrying.

Went to bed vowing to delete the demo and wait for the retail release least it spoiled the game for me.

Got up today and couldnt resist another go! Set up Chelsea v Man City and it started the same as the previous night - frustrating.

I then made a conscious decision to 'throw away' all I knew about FIFA 14 and try to relearn FIFA 15. Pretty much instantly it improved. I realised I couldnt play the FIFA 14 way. Players are heavier, yet better with the ball at their feet. You have a bit more time in midfield and can hold off players better.

Everything is just enough different (especially the physics of the ball and players) that if you just play the FIFA 14 'way' from muscle memory it doesnt sit right.

So I'm now hopeful that once I get used to the differences of how this version plays, it will be absolutely awesome!

would like to see you play a game on legendary with tactical defending, or show a video where someone is able to get the ball in midfield from the cpu more than once per game

not hating btw, really curious, i'm trying everything, maybe i will set the first touch sliders to 0

Like I said, it is difficult with TD, but not like I never get to touch them. I've concede lotsa penalty just because I misjudge the standing tackle. The point is, if you willing to learn the game, you won't simply hate/delete/remove the game. Its frustrating, but in my mind, I get that I'm not good enough and I must learn this new AI.

What is with the frequent change of the camera perspective? With every goal kick I have to go through different angles!

I like this game though.

Well this is a surprise. I disliked this demo after the first day's play but with every day it's growing on me more, to the point where I'm actually looking forward to getting in a few more games.

Slow + pro + legacy defending + PES controls really works for me and I've had some fun games with the AI.

PES is going to have to do something special on the PC this year as this is a strong contender.

Slow/Pro really is the sweet spot. Oddly enough, I'm not sure it slows the actual players down, but just the speed of the ball? Thats what it seems to me - maybe the Placebo effect (no offence Paul LOL).

One (of the many) things I like this year is how poweful you can make the standard X 'short' pass. In 14 I used to do really powerful low passes cross field etc using the through ball button (on manual) and if you did it hard enough, you got some nice animations of the player opening his body to play the pass.

But now you can do those sort of passes just using the X button. The through ball seems a bit less accurate now anyways, which isnt a bad thing.

So how do you dribble like the CPU?

They dont even use skills but ghost past me, even between to players closing in on them with some great touches.

And Placebo was you being serious about the crazy legs keepers on penos?

Was getting really frustrated playing against cpu so switched to legacy defending, much better teammates actually help press and not as much godlike dribbling. Good to see the cpu being more aggressive when tackling as well. Managed to round the keeper(shot feint) and score with Costa which I could never do on 14.

I still think they need to tweak the defending a tad as I was able to run into the penalty box with Oscar from kick off without much pressure on world class, which is worrying. If they can sort that out and fix the keepers it will be a solid game.
