FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

Custom Tournament Mode used to include all the leagues, so you could play a Premier League season.

Hopefully that's the case then.

I'm not a massive FIFA fan but I'm cautiously optimistic about what I've seen this year. Playing a full Premier League season with all the real stadia would be pretty special.

That's a shame.

I was hoping it would be possible to play a one-off Premier League season, or La Liga or whatever. Manager mode doesn't interest me in the slightest.

To be honest when I get a new FIFA game I always start a career mode and completely ignore the managerial side of things and just run through a season, by skipping ahead on the calendar - so you can just do that without being penalised.

This way I get to play with a Premier League team I like and take part in the Cups etc.

I then go back through and do a proper manager career with Forest with signings etc

That's fair enough but it's still a kind of convoluted way of replicating what should be a staple mode in all football games.

The bad control was when receiving a hard pass or when under pressure or when running at full speed. Looked very realistic.

Don't be worried about the refs, played against Barca with Dortmund and Messi tore me a new one. Couldn't get him off the ball. The refereeing was just more like in real life, which I hate and love at the same time. It will get me out of my seat more when playing that's for sure, just like when I watch a real game of footy. Like it or not but refs have a high impact on games.

My striker was given a yellow card when slide tackling the goalkeeper after he just saved the ball. It was indeed a dangerous tackle but a close one.

My hands are itching to play another game.

Thanks for the response :)

you used to be able to 2 foot the goalkeeper in FIFA 99, straight red, I think it even had a dirty tackle button, R2 or something

Played 14 again yesterday (last time was about 6 months ago) but I quickly realised why it hasn't grabbed me and seems more of a chore. Maybe it's just me, but playing with Liverpool the lack of control and responsiveness from the players makes it feel like I'm playing Ship Simulator 2014.

All the players seem so heavy and lacking in responsiveness that I find myself focussing on just trying to get a simple ball under control and trying to pass it and keep possesion. There is hardly any feeling of playing football (i.e. looking for passes and movement and a bit of dribbling/quickfeet when needed). And goals feel like luck because of it.

And I'm not one of the arcade kids either, I like some composed possesion football, but for me the challenge should be being smart with the ball and creating openings with good passing transitions, movement and creating space in the oppositions defense, the challenge shouldn't be to just be able to keep possesion with G.Johnson in my own half (which might actually be realistic these days....).

@ Scorp,

Did you find the responsiveness to have increased from 14?

Yes I remenber it too. It was 'Q' on PC if I recall correctly.
And the players sometimes complaining and kinda threatening the ref after being sent off (when they just pointed to him, looked like they were saying something in anger, turn away, then turn back to the referee, get close again pointing the finger to him then going away again) were a good touch.

Edit: this!!!

@scorpio, have they fixed the running animations, cause from the videos iv seen the running is horrendous and iv noticed stuttering and abit of sliding. Did you notice any of that?

PC players from UK - Where are you planning PRE-ORDER FIFA 15 from ? What is the most recommended website where it's possible to get the game on 26th of September?

I do not mean about digital version of the game. It would be awesome to get a parcel with the game on the same day when it's officially released.

Haven't been this hyped since fifa 08. Videos looks really good. A big issue I have had with FIFA is the scripted feeling of keeper saves and judging by the videos they have finally fixed this. Seems much more random where the ball will end up now. New highlights are so sexy too.

Oh I really hope they have added back the possibility to play two fixed players in BAP career mode. Please God make it happen.

Same question regarding digital download of the PC version....where should I be looking for the best prices?

Last year FIFA 14 PC could be had for $US30 on day 1 from Nuuvem (required Brazilian IP address and some reading of Portuguese). Otherwise the last couple of years Amazon USA has had FIFA/PC for US$40 on Day 1.

Nb. These were not pre-order prices, but available from release day.

I paid £20 from cdkeys.com.

But it might get cheaper as I bought it last few years for £11 from Origin India.

shopto is place to get the game. You will get it on 24th or 25th with them

Doesn't make that much difference where you pre-order from as most companies ship early.

No matter which online retailer you should receive it early.
I have always received early with the only exception being Amazon and Tesco.

The best company I ever used is Simply Games, was shipped out on the Tuesday 1st class recorded and received the next day.. Think it was actually Fifa a couple of years ago.

Didn't see any strange running animation. All seemed well on that part. The big players Christiano Ronaldo, Bale, Messi, etc... have their own specific running animations now, just like in PES.

Didn't have an issue with it on FIFA14 as I play on slow, with speed and acceleration turned down a notch in the slider settings. So for me FIFA14 was a little too fast on normal speed. And didn't notice any specific change in FIFA15.

@Scorpio

What about off the ball runs? I found fifa14 frustrating when you wait for a player to make runs. Did you try the off the ball moves?

Can all be fixed with the team management options in FIFA 15. And in FIFA 14 I use the L1 button (when in control of the ball, L1 makes the teammate you're looking at make a run. Or set my team on attacking mentality.
