FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

If you don't mind paying through your anus.

It's hellishly expensive bru. You moving to PS4 then?

Well bro. Yes and No... I will get it on PS4 & PC just like I will PES. But I wanted to know if I pre-order it now from the US store, will it install earlier, so i don't have to download it on release day.

That irritates me.

I have decided. I'm going to get FIFA 15 from ShopTo this year. I could save some pounds buying digital version of the game but nothing makes me happier than receiving a parcel with the most awaited thing inside of it.

Hopefully, I won't have any issues to run the game on the highest graphic settings. Plus some more "space" for eventual SweetFX :P

Yes, preload is available for PS4 for a few month.

Didnt work with MLB the show... evan on release day they screwed up, game was released almost 10 hours later of announced if i recall correctly.

But it´s working perfectly now, i made a pre-load for Diablo 3 and there was a counter when the game was playable. Exactly 00:00 pacific time.

As safe as any CD Key seller, they've been around a looooooooooooooong time so that should count for something. Personally I prefer Kinguin and G2a so will wait until it's cheaper on there. Russian version is 31.32€ on G2a but no idea how easy it is to make it all English on Origin...

thanks mate

Is there any info on injuries etc? New animations, don't want to see a player walking off the pitch with a broken ankle. Also are they going to change not being able to offer a contract to a player that is considering retiring in CM?

Thanks for posting. There's some good stuff in there that I hadn't heard before, but I can't help but be concerned with all the talk of improved responsiveness and increased fluidity. Not that those things are inherently bad, quite the contrary, but FIfA has a history of being too fast and open...

A couple interesting bits that I hadn't seen before:

“We’ve completely re-written dribbling so you’ve got more control, more fidelity of movement. There are a lot of contextual tricks, but we want everyone to feel capable, that they’re doing cool things just using the left stick.

Left-stick dribbling is already greatly improved from a couple years ago, it'll be interesting to see what it's like now.

Defenders will now stick with the attacking player more naturally whereas before you’d have to press A to contain - we don’t particularly want that all the time.

I hadn't heard this before. IMO the defensive system needs to be gutted, and I hate how contain works, so I'm very curious to see how much a change this is.

Fifas 13 and 14 were experimenting with the jostle between players, now Fifa 15 lets you hold down B to use your body instead of tackling. At first, you’ll bump against your rival, but if that’s unsuccessful, it will gradually evolve to shirt tugging.

Hadn't seen this before either. Another interesting defensive change.

Fifa 15 is pretty delightful to play: zippy passing, tight handling without the regimented “close control” feature-set of Fifa 14, and a much greater sense that you can freely disperse the ball around the pitch at any angle. The action feels faster, looser, more expressive.

It's this kind of stuff that worries me. Will it be more realistic, or just make the game even faster and open?

Decent left stick dribbling would go a long way to making FIFA a more enjoyable experience. That feeling of quick, close control has always been missing.

I actually think it's pretty good in NG FIFA 14. I wreck defenders with skilled players and just the left stick.

Not that it couldn't be better, and it looks like it will be, but compared with how left stick dribbling used to be useless for beating defenders, it was a lot better with NG 14.

2 weeks before release so 9th or 12th of September.

As for PC version of FIFA 14, you need to play it on FAST in game setting and use Fidel's gameplay or paulv24 one. Both make immense changes to gameplay (especially Fidel's do wonders!).

Thanks but I've written off FIFA14 now. Not long until I can try the next iteration so I will wait a couple of weeks for my first taste of 'next-gen' FIFA.

I've only played a couple of games of next gen FIFA 14 at a gaming shop so I can't comment on what the dribbling is like now but I've always felt the touches are too big unless you hold the close control modifiers. It's particularly frustrating when the AI just moves from side to side and it looks like the ball goes a metre with each touch but they magically drag it back without losing balance or the ball. But myself and a couple of mates are buying Xbox Ones with FIFA 15 so I'm hoping the dribbling is indeed improved :)

Nooooo why not PS4s?! Better machine better games

1) I prefer the controller on the Xbox's.
2) A couple of good friends that only play FIFA have Xbox's and we will play against each other and can borrow controllers and games.
3) I already am paying Xbox Live fees and would be able to pay one fee for both the 360 and One. The PS4 would require me to sign up and pay more money to play online.

What patch are you using Jamez? I use ModdingWay 3.7.0 and it's brilliant. Check it out it's giving me another month or so to play it. I have NG Xbox1 version but got bored shitless with it.

...and I'm not sure how the PS4 is actually a better machine anyway. I have both. The PS4 is being sold. Great bit of kit but so is the Xbox. You won't be disappointed with either console.
I've had more crashes on PS4 than Xbox. The Xbox has a lot more features (for me anyway). I don't see any differences (or any worth worrying about) in the graphics. I have FIFA, BF4, COD and Trials Fusion on both consoles and I don't play them side by side so I don't nitpick over graphics. They look great on both consoles as far as I'm concerned. I can play with and Skype my boys at the same time while they are at their mums house and we can also share the digital downloads. Games can be shared on PS4 too but I can't Skype on that and I enjoy seeing my boys faces when they aren't with me and in all fairness the Skype is HD.
Anyway, get whichever console caters for your needs, which is clearly what you are doing. Don't ever listen to anybody saying one console is better than the other as personally, I just haven't seen that in practice and I've spent plenty of time in both consoles.
Somebody will say about power, frames per second and all that stuff now but I've just not noticed anything worth worrying about.

If you mainly play FIFA, it won't matter one bit which console you play it on.

It's slightly off topic continuing this, but to be sure for Fifa exclusively (or any other multi-platform game) you should be choosing the console based on which controller suits you best and then if you want to play online with friends, what console they have. There can be differences in the graphics, but that really is secondary these days.

If however you plan to play many other games, chose the console based on the exclusive/first party games, not the multi-platform ones.
