English Premier League thread

Yeah, you're right about those forums but just remember most of em are still kids, teenagers. They still haven't acquired a proper social knowledge or the necessary communication tools to able to express their thoughts properly.

About the next season I agree with you for the most part, except for two things:

1. City already has one hell of a left winger, in fact he was the best in la liga before he came, I'm sure you already know who I'm talking about.

2. United shouldn't wait for Januzaj to progress, they should allow him to grow yes but not at the expanse of the team. You should also consider buying a great CM such as Thiago just in case.

Also it'd be nice to see how Zaha is going to adapt to United's game, the kid is awesome!

On the other hand I'm pretty excited about Palace's return, or like I like to call them Andy Johnson's club :)

I'm assuming you mean Silva? He was my first thought except I see him as being the perfect play maker to sit in front of Toure and Fernandinho. I guess if they sign Isco he can play as the winger, or AM while Silva moves to the wing.

Its a testament to Januzajs abilities that Fergie believed him good enough it get into the squad. I reckon a year's loan would do him the world of good, maybe Peterborough will keep their connection with the club and take him on.

Given Uniteds current Winger situation Zaha clearly can force his way in, but I would to think we would give Nani the chance to return to form first and foremost. Zaha should remain at Palace imo, and keep developing while he gains premier league experience, which he will probably be limited for at United.

I'm more excited to see the return of Ollie, his interviews make MOTD 5x Better! In seriousness I can't see any of the promoted clubs staying up next year. I don't think Cardiff have the squad to compete all year round, Hull City lack any form of attacking nature and Palace are weak across the pitch with the exception of Zaha and Murray (when he's fit).

We will get to see the best of Jonathan Williams next year, and I will tip him to be a contender for YPOTY. A truly unsung hero in the palace team that was all about Zaha last season.

Yes, I meant Silva. I know he's been tremendous as playmaker but if they're going to play in a typical 4-3-3, I'd put him there and make Nasri the playmaker or give the chance to Suarez if the Isco deal doesn't come through.

TBH i'm really not stoked about having Hull in the prem again, they're just a poor man's version of Di Matteo's Chelsea. They push to score and then park the bus once they're ahead, in addition to that they seemed to be familiar with Stoke's dirty games...

Didn't see much of Williams but I heard good things about him though. I'd prefer to wait till' I see more of him to give my opinion.

Ouch, United's fixture list is rather brutal. I know obviously everyone plays the same teams etc, but to have Chelsea, LFC, City all in the first few matches (along with Swansea and Stoke away) seems a harsh introduction for David Moyes!

If United can get to October not too far off the pace, then they'll have a chance, but I could see City and Chelsea accelerating away with relatively gentle starts, and not looking back.

My bold prediction: This year's top 4 will finish exactly in order of wages spent. Which is what it should do, now that SAF is gone - he was the only one who really broke that 'rule'.

Just spent 10 minutes reading posts on other gaming sites including personal favourites Sofifa and FUThead, about players from the premier league and the genuine lack of footballing knowledge the people who play fifa/pes/claim to be football fans possess is so astounding its unreal. All they seem to care about is if that play has 5* skills in game, as if this will magically turn them into a world beater irl.

People where criticising Thorgan Hazard for not having 5* skills and saying he's shit in comparison to his brother, and any fan who attempted to be rational and say yes younger and is apparently progressing better than Eden was immediately shot down by someone calling that person a "fucking retard, Chelsea hater" etc.. it just makes me glad that these forums exist where we have the best posters of rational and thoughtful posting.

My original intention was to post about my POV on next year, I can see United being dethroned by a vengeful City, and then pushed down into 3rd by a Mourinho rejuvenation in Chelsea. If Rooney leaves it will be interesting to see Kagawa and his position on the pitch for United, whether he will get the number 10 role or if RvP will be pulled back and Hernandez moved forward.

Read some news reports that suggest Ba and Torres may both be sold to accomadate the return of Lukaku and signing on Schurlle and so it will be a fascinating experience to see how Mourinho handles getting all his attacking options into the team.

At City, they will face a new season with a new formation (4-3-3) as that's the wish of the Tixi bloke. I'm wondering how the system will be implemented because I can't see City having a player capable on left wing, Nasri is the closest I can think of however having players with so much quality means its a guarantee the system will work out some how. Fernandinho is a player who will be playing against his price tag for most of the season imo, while Navas will add the dimension of width that city's current squad lacks so obviously.

Also my eyes will be firmly set on the progression of Januzaj at United, seeing how Villas young squad continue to grow.

And seeing Benteke succumb to second season syndrome.

Lots of question marks about how we'll setup.

We've been following Cavani so it would suggest that we're preparing to play 2 up front because neither Aguero or Cavani are going to be on the bench more than a couple of times ( aka resting).

On the other hand we have been interested in Matuidi and Thiago, which would suggest 1 up top.

We've also signed Navas but it's yet to be seen whether he will start the season as a 1st team regular or as an option off the bench, a la Adam Johnson. If the latter tho I would expect Pellegrini to use Navas alot more than Mancini used Johnson.

I think a lot rests on where Cavani goes. It looks as tho he is going to go to Madrid which may well push Txiki and Pellegrini towards keeping Dzeko or Tevez and strengthening CM instead.

We may switch our sights to Lewandowski or Ibra tho. I have no idea. I do not expect us to sign a striker and another quality CM tho. Looks to me like Thiago will either stay at Barca or go to Utd, where he would be guaranteed a slot next to Carrick whicher system they played.

I'd be more than happy with Radu, Fernandinho, Navas and Isco ...if we can pull them off.

Fulham can attract players due to the location of the club but I doubt this owner is going to splash out yet he might try to push further along.

So apparently Cissé is being forced to train alone by Newcastle because he won't wear the shirt with Wonga on it. Seeing that he won't back down due to his religious believes, I wonder where he'll be off to, Tottenham maybe? They desperately need quality upfront.

so i guess fulham will continue to be mid-table average not really doing anything useful, using money that owners poured in but not enough to be successful, whats the point, hope they go down. 4 times to where they were before they were taken over by al fayed.

also i agree with Cissé, i wouldnt want to wear a shirt with wonga on it, but he been on shit form so i doubt anyone in top half would want to sign him. 8 goals in 36 league games is quite poor.

He had a terrible form this season...he spent most of the time injured, yet he was always there when the toons needed him.

R.I.P Christian Benitez. You will be missed.

It's absurd to link his death with heat, the guy was from Ecuador it gets up to a 100 degrees and he couldn't take heat? Ridiculous...
It just plain defamation, like Qatar is the only country in the world that have weather issues, utter bullocks.

Anyway R.I.P. Chucho Benítez, he was too damn young which makes even more sorry for him and his family.

Now it seems that there are questions over if the hospital in Qatar provided adequate medical care:

http://www.elcomercio.es/agencias/2...s-benitez-dicen-muerte-pudo_201307302123.html

Both of these sites say once he arrived at the hospital there was a delay of several hours, and then it seems to have been misdiagnosed (they gave him sedatives when they should have operated immediately). It's a damning indictment of the medical care and hopsital standards - if a patient arrives at a hospital with appendicitis (or even peritonitis) it's such a common and standard condition it really shouldnt result in death.

People are making the anti-Qatar thing their agenda, that's the issue.

Its very American to push your political views on a abnormal outcome . We see it all the time a gun shot victim will be the poster boy for gun-control. Its how , I can use this circumstances for my gain.

I lost weight and gain muscle and a friend asked me to buy my before n after photos. Its what most Americans are use too. I would think the Qatar situation will lead to, how can FIFA approve a WC when a footballer(s) can`t get adequate service? What will happen, when tourist comes into the hospital ? How many more will die the same faint? Don`t allow more deaths FIFA! :)

Dude was in his prime and a real handful for any defender! He was amazing last year in Mexican league and a big part of Club America winning the Clausura.

I had the pleasure of watching a few Club America games last year and he was fantastic! It's such a shame.

RIP Chucho :(

Your hate for Welbeck is strange, do you not remember him being our stand out performer in the Bernabau less than 6 months ago.
