eFootball PES 2020 Discussion Thread (PC)

The Faces section can be merged again. PES2019 faces can be inserted in PES2020.
However loading PES2020 face files back to PES2019 is not OK, there is something like a halo in front of T. Muller's face when loaded to PES 2019, is there any trick or work around for that?

Absolutely.
Download reshade, and use either the ‘lightroom’ filter or apply a LUT to tone the colour down.

The contrast is way, way too high as well. It’s like everyone’s sat directly below a desk lamp thats beaming on their face.

I can’t find the “Lightroom” filter, what I’m I doing wrong? And I applied the “LUT” but I can’t say I see anything different. I just checked the box for using “LUT” tho. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Oh shit, sorry mate, that might have been one I downloaded separately!
https://github.com/martymcmodding/qUINT

Here you go, simply install reshade to PES, then copy these the qUINT lightoom etc shader into the newly created shader folder in the PES directory.

Can't miss it cos all the other shaders are already in there :)

PM me if you have any problems and I'll help you out.

Some mentioned it. This is part of the PES dna for me (seeing it very romantic here)!
I’m with you on those cutscenes; we need less or better integrated intelligent ones!
But not on the X vs START button!
That’s PES culture to me. :) like some might find the controller layout is.

If we had it on X everyone would be hammering it like in the other game. To me it’s a small bump, a barrier that keeps us from doing so. So we can watch more presentation stuff and relax.

And don’t get me going on people skipping the replay right before the good stuff is shown... (letting it run for a few seconds before)! ^^ ;)
This made me laugh :D
It may be difficult to see the changes if you didn't use skills a lot in 2019, but nevertheless, let me know how you get on. I'm really interested.

Might have been easier to perform but it wasn't at all realistic, mate.
Do we agree on that?.

I remember passing the ball (very powerful pass) with Veratti, to Di Maria (who is a skilfull player but not the best, and he often has poor first touch in real life) and performing step overs and all sorts of tricks the second the ball got to his feet. Looked pretty bad to be honest.

Now, I'm still not comfortable with the so called "Finesse Dribbling" I don't think it's well implemented. But I might change my opinion later, because I'm yet to master it.
Oh absolutely wasn't realistic. But it's not like they are now either? If anything it's even worse as advanced skills are easier to pull off. You can do a 90-degree spin with Chiellini by just pressing two buttons yet I'm sure he's never tried that in his life :D

To be honest, how would you implement skills 'realistically' anyway? I'm probably the wrong man to talk about realism to be fair because bar ball physics I think the idea football games ever being realistic is nothing but a myth anyway :SHHH:

Being a video game though, at some point, some things just have to be fun. And whether you used skills or not, they were great fun in 2019 because they were easy to attempt, but incredibly difficult to master, and were far, far from being overpowered. Exactly as they should be.

FYI, for finesse dribble, you can use it in two ways; holding the right stick to roll the ball around, or flicking it to do quick little movements and flicks - I'd STRONGLY recommend to only flick it at first, as this is essentially what it's for - quick little movements to help you get away from defenders. Only once you get really good at flicking the ball away from defenders should you then start holding it, and now it should make much, much more sense how to use it correctly.

It is good, I do like it, I just so wish they'd designed the controls for both the skill moves and finesse dribble to work better together.

Yesterday, i'm playing 10 minutes on full manual against superstar com. I found something that hilarious. Here is the video on full match. I don't know if someone already notice this 'bugs'. cheers.

The only thing I noticed myself id that Neuer in a couple of occasions in which he should've rushed out like no tomorrow sticked to his goal line and conceded.
I recorded a video of one of the issues, I'm editing it and I'll post it here as soon as it's ready.

Here it is! I mean, why didn't he come out of his line? I can't see a reason not to, especially as Matuidi takes yet another unnecessary touch on the ball (he should've let it drop and kick it instead of controlling it with his chest):

is there any way/ file to start the PES 2020 Demo offline?
Have no internet connection here.
When i put steam in offline mode and start the demo, it starts loading but goes back to desktop.

Damn I'm so glad they added those Scaling things, after PES 2018, my PC performance sucks when playing PES, but with those scaling features at 2020, it feels buttery smooth! even tho it compromises the graphics, i don't really care, it doesn't seems to be any differences. Thanks Konami.

I have to say, been really impressed with the demo on PC, looks fantastic, and having both played the demo on PC & PS4 I am not noticing a difference, to be honest, it doesnt feel like a hybrid of the PS3 & PS4 version anymore, anyone else in agreement?

Mate it's already like this since Pes 2018.. last game to have differences with console versions was 2017..

Someone with AMD Graphics can help me?

It seems that in the Settings.exe I can only play at 1080p, but I can set the resolution at 4k because of the virtual res. Why PES doesn’t detect that? I wanted to try 2k as I got 140 FPS when playing at 1080p.

Thanks!

Yeah, exe file is like 10 MB bigger after the update. I guess what they patched, maybe something online related?

I don't have an AMD card but it sounds like you're monitor is 1080p.

Absolutely agree, my man.
The problem is, if they really wanted to make it realistic, it just wouldn't be possible to execute MOST of the skill moves. Because in real life, nobody could execute them either. Not even Ronaldinho, Neymar or Messi.
Imagine pulling Ronaldinho's elastico move the second the ball arrives to him, without even taking the first touch to stop the ball from rolling. Problem is, you probably can do that in PES or FIFA. And some people wouldn't be happy if they tried to perform some magic move as soon as the ball got to them and found out they lost possession (or worse, maybe lost a clear goal scoring opportunity because of that). They'd blame the game, the response times, the poorly implemented skill move mechanics or whatever instead of taking responsibility and say "hey, nobody would be able to do this in real life so why the heck am I trying to do it here?".

But yeah, thinking of an actual football simulator is both naive and impossible. I'd just rather some real life factors were more important to them when implementing certain mechanics into the game.
They should always throw this question around between themselves: Could this happen in real life? What could potentially be the possible outcomes if this player tried to do this? A)Bad scenario. B)Average. C)Good.

That would fix a lot of the current issues with PES since... well, forever.

"[UPDATE] 02/08/2019 09:26(UTC)
Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.
We have released a patch addressing the problem."

The online mode was broken, they seem to have fixed the disconnection issue. Nothing gameplay-related, don't worry! :D

yeah, really happy when I saw that.

You can upscale or downscale in your native resolution to increase performance/graphical detaill.

It doesn't let me go beyond 100% though, so I don't think upscaling is possible...
Unless this only happens to me?.

I could finally play an online match after the update. Couldn't play a single one before that there would always be some connection issues the moment the match startet, literally every time but no anymore
