eFootball PES 2020 Discussion Thread (PC)

Just a simple question every year I ask myself. How much time do play every match when you play master league? I used to set it to 12 minutes in PES 2019 and other ones but I always think about 14 or 15 to enjoy the match and not to stress myself. What do you think guys?
 
Love it , hate it , well hate is a bit strong .. 1. L1 player switching bad enough in 19 still annoying in 20 why is it so hard to fix. P1 ok weakest of the passing assists but I think its worse than last years P1, Walking pace 15 yards inside Oppo half , Cpu player 15 yards from my player waiting for him to get close before closing in. Before he does I turn my player inside to stand facing 1 of my MDs 12+ yards away I press pass about 20%+ of the power bar, remember I am directly facing the 3 Oclock position and my other player is at the end of that position 12+ yards away, Press pass, my player turns and hit a pass to my CF about 25 yards outside the oppo's pbox. WTFFF I am fecking raging, Pass assist 1 should not be overiding my choice of pass, I lose possession because of this and it happens to many times. Facing up the park , my player on the ball see an unmarked team mate on halfway line facing my FB on the ball, 20 yards up the park no cpu player near. I give it a 25%+ pass on the power bar, ball goes flying (on the deck) 20+ more yards beyond the player I am aiming at, this happens on the wing or middle of park because one his team mates well beyond that half way line as I hit pass the Control icon goes on above their heads. Annoying as feck.

Q do refs had red cards for the cpu players ?.

Headers out from box or clearance ( hitting pass) from 25 + yrds outside of box, clearance header never goes to a team mate just into a space well beyond a team mate, fine I am fine with that, but why the FECK every time a CPU player does the same kind of header it goes straight to one of their team mates.

On L1 , Cpu passes to 1 of the team mates , I have a player within 6 yards of him and my player has the empty control icon above his head. As the cpu player takes ball under control I am hitting L1 ,1,2,3,4 x and more at times, to no effect at all, player will not highlight. When I am hitting L1 to close in on this cpu 6 yards away, I can see the result of hitting L1 to get him under control, the contol icon is jumping between either 2 mds or 2 cbs 30+ yards away.

L1 needs fixed, that said they never fixed it last year either.

Through BALL ! it says the longer you hold this down the further it will travel , utter BS. I press 100% power bar as I see my CF going to break back line of CPU defence. As I let go of this through ball , a team mate has either come up on my left or right a couple of yards to my side getting leve as I let go of the 100% powered through ball , the ball TRUNDLES off my players boot and goes about a yard in front of the team mate who has came up from behind as I said, either side of my player letting of a 100% power through ball. So when I call BS on this the LONGER you hold down the pass through ball button the further it will go. BBBBBSSSSSSS.

Fix L1. So I don't have to hit L1 3-4 times to get my player who is closest to the ball or the cpu player about to get it, getting them to come under my control and not seeing the control icon jumping between 2 players 20-30 yards away from said ball or cpu player.

Fix over powered P1 to stop ai overiding the pass I am trying to play.

Fix those 2 main things which can break the moves I am wanting to play or the cpu player / ball I am trying to get to and can't because the contol icon is jumping between player nowhere near the ball or cpu player.

PS why is Konami taking no notice of PC players with lag issues?

Regarding stutter and v-sync, having had issues for the past couple of years, I found the best setting with the demo was to have v-sync off in game settings and on in nvidia settings with Ultra low latency. This was the smoothest.

I think Konami enable it by default so if it’s on in nvidia you have it twice which causes issues. You could turn off the nvidia v-sync but I think you need it because Konami’s is crap. It was great that you could turn their’s off in the demo so when the option returns I’ll be doing that.
 
In the final game, you don't notice the tiredness issue so much.
In the demo if you squeeze a lot the players got tired and injuries appeared.
In the final game nothing
 
Hi guys, quick question here.
Does anyone have an issue on PC where my Game plays fine but when the ball goes to the corner of the pitch or when I take a corner my FPS drops?
It is really noticeable and quite annoying.
Anyone got any solutions or can anyone help.

Any input would be appreciated
Run PES, Alt tab the game, open task manager, right click on pes 2020, click go to details, right click on pes 2020, click on chose affinity, disable the last 2 cpus.

Game now is forcing its V-sync. If you enable Nvidia (or AMD) V-sync too you'll have 2 V-syncs (not good, MASSIVE input lag).
Hopefully they will release an updated settings.exe to have Konami's crap V-sync to off.

I tried both configuration but the result is the same. FRAPS says 60fps, constant, never goes down this value but the game is unplayable.
 
Not much to do this evening so I reinstalled against my better judgement. Wanted to try out AI free kicks. Played a single match against Celta Vigo in ML 5 times and gave away a free kick near the box before exiting and restarting the game. 3 they scored directly from and 2 they scored from crossing it in. Some coincidence that.
 
at this moment i am playing ML with Inter Milan (Lukaku and Sanchez :D). The first match was against Juve for the ICC. They maded six fouls and get 3 bookings. So i don't complain about lack of fouls anymore. Was a really good match, i lost 2-0.
 
Having experimented a bit, it's surprising how much difference the camera angle can make. I liked the default camera but, as a manual player, I was struggling to get my shots to go where I wanted.

I've now changed it to have less angle and zero zoom (0-5-1) and find that it's also improved defending. I think having the camera move around and change angle, sometimes while controlling players or passes, caused them to run out of position - eg, you're holding towards your goal with a defender as the camera moves meaning he takes a step at an angle throwing him off and losing a crucial yard. I'm not sure, it's probably not fixed it, but it has improved things a lot.

Also, I'm not ashamed to say I'm not that great at the game and have put it down to regular for now. I'm winning a little too easily but it allows me to practice and try things out which I didn't get as much time to do on professional. I'd recommend going down a level or two if you're finding things annoying. Just for while, consider it training matches or something. It might be easier, but it's more fun than getting frustrated.

yes i was starting to suspect there was some setting which the game always had 'on' and caused the stutter. I guess when we can switch it off in settings like the demo, stutter should go? It isnt awful, but annoying knowing its there lol

Pretty sure this is (as it goes) impossible, any setting in driver beside "application controlled" overrides the game, unless this time, Konami made some serious mess, but I think not, this is not how vsync implementation works.

I don't get the issues too, the settings.exe cap says 60Hz always but if you have higher native rate it will still match to that rate lets say 120 Hz, my friend has it like this. So if you have a somehwat decent PC there should not be any fps drops or stuttering because if you can maintain stable FPS with vsync enabled there are no such things. I tested the driver vsync, its about the same, not much difference, no tearing no lag no drops no stutter.

I've been playing all my 'practice' matches with 10 mins. I'm now about to start a ML but am tempted to increase it to help me from rushing.

You’re lucky mate. Trust me, there’s a lot of people having stuttering or slowdown problems. Only Konami can fix this shit!

the game has definitely implemented some sort of vsync or other because it has taken away the option to turn it off from its own settings. Which I guess means they want something to be on always.... i could be wrong.

But the demo was ultra smooth for me, run like a dream... this one runs well but the occasional stutter is an annoyance which we know can be removed.... by konami.

Vsync can cause stutter i believe if it fails to render a frame quick enough (or similar). The only way to fix stutter is to turn vsync off... you just get tearing then sometimes, not always. I am like the guy a few posts up, i am sure konami have left it hardcoded to be 'on' always
 
Im on old W10 and old nvidia driver, so maybe some newer drivers etc are messed up, this happens sometimes, i usually stick to the working versions as long as possible, pc thug life. :THINK:

of course the game has vsync, because there is no tearing in the game, so some vsync must be enabled somewhere, i disabled those fullscreen optimization on the game .exe so it cannot be the windows one (i play fullscreen), and in driver it was on application control, so it only can be the game

so if issues appear try the driver vsync put it on or force on or what the name is, there should not be any "double vsync", but for me they perform about the same (which is weird too, usually the konami one is a bit choppy and slow)

Me too. Playing regular matches at 10 minutes but now thinking about 12 minutes (what I have more) or 14. Maybe 15. What are you thinking about time to set?

15 tbh, used to play 20 on fifa and loved it made tactics more necessary imo.

Thanks mate! After hundreds of different tries, your suggestion works fine for me.
I setted game to high and enabled anisotropic filter and anti alias from Nvidia control panel and the game runs smooth!!! Perfect. You rock mate. Thanks a lot!
 
For those who use "low latency mode = on" in Nvidia, what does it actually do?

similar/same to pre rendered frames 1 (the old setting)
and "ultra" is their new implementation to counter amds "anti-lag", it apparently manages somehow to deliver that one frame just in time
