There are just so many issues ruining the game for me. It just doesn't feel fun at all. Few things I've noticed as being big issues...

Some of the animations are far too long. For example, after a collision, your player is stunned for about 3 seconds.

The referee is terrible. I've been clearly fouled in the area about 5 times and not received a single penalty.

AI tactics are abysmal. Worst case being the deep defensive line/swarm the box combined with conservative defence style that the AI uses. Means you can literally walk through the midfield unchallenged, but then be presented with a wall of bodies.

General unresponsiveness in tight spaces. Applies to when you are dribbling in tight spaces or when you receive a pass.

Finesse dribbling - as soon as you face a defender up and touch the right stick, they seem to just stand off you. This is fine, however, I've stood with the ball for 30 seconds (real time) without anybody trying to tackle me. This is also a problem when you keep possession in your own half against teams with low defensive lines. Nobody comes to tackle you for a minute or so (real time).

There is too much open space in the pitch...almost like it is a bit too big - not a massive issue granted.

Practically every player in Master League is ridiculously expensive. I've just sold William Carvalho for £104m. That's insane.

Anyway, the game has some great elements and I will keep going with it. Just gutted I am not feeling the same enjoyment as some others seem to be doing

Post these in the PES Development Facebook page. Hopefully Konami would listen
 
one thing which its almost pathetic its how much they are using the gk saves to just give the ball for someone to score

it happens almost one time in every 3 games
 
I said to myself don't buy the game in the first month of release, just wait and read other people opinions... Fuck it, I bought the game and first I tried my club. I was so pissed off on myself, I don't like online PES. Long waiting time to connect me with someone, after no luck I disable all filters and I got very strong opponents and lost every game. It wasn't a problem in losing those games, but I didn't like the gameplay at all. Speed, camera, feeling, everything was bad.

After a few hours of cooling, I tried Glasgow Darby on professional, 12 minutes game and - 1 speed. I lost again haha, but this game was awesome, great action, few free kicks from both side, fair stadium atmosphere, in my personal opinion, offline and online are two separate games. I love offline gameplay
 
I uninstalled it. Every goal I concede is due to the player I switch to just stop running even though I’m holding the correct direction or a free kick. Maybe I’ll come back to it in a few months.

Thats what I did in my last new game which was 2018, after the myclub etc, sticked to regular 1v1 and tried some 3* teams like st etienne, managed to climb up to almost 700 rank rather easily and then quit and enever touched the game in the new year. :D

It was funny because at first there is a script too, I remember going down to ~ 300 points and then climbed up, so even in regular 1v1 there is some sort of scripting going on, I then settled not to use the team strenght filter, because with a smaller team you can settle on a draw vs bigger teams and still get points so you can play more calm.
 
And anyone having and issue with "NEW DATA ASSET DOWNLOAD UNSUCCESSFUL", you need to move your whol download folder and verify game files, BECAUSE I think the game just doesn't work with DPFileList Generator, because I can use it fine without my mods but even when I try to add one mod it just doesn't and starts saying I' playing and older version of the game.
 
I'm bitterly disappointed that the PES devs released a demo that showed so much promise in regards to ai player id, only to seemingly pull a "Bait and switch" and release full game where the ai has regressed almost back to PES2019 levels.

I'm greatful that some gamers are attempting to recreate that PES2020 demo feeling via gamplay mods but i think the pes devs are determined keep the ai frustratingly mediocre to play against.
 
Yesterday i finally "relearned" how to play pes 2020
Its not nearly as good to play as the demo but at least i could get some joy out of it
In defense you just have to be a player switch maniac and try your best to not let the ai give the game up
On offense i have sterling and coutinho who are basically worthless. The only way i can win its pass the ball until i can make a long pass to cr7 or belloti
 
COMP players are like hungry pitbulls, with perfect timing for tackles and insane physical battles. Maybe playing on manual is making the challenge harder, but that doesn't explain the difference in COMP players behavior.

The pop-up message also contains the "some player pictures...something..."
but then it still asks to apply on club/national and after that the message that it was applied, not sure why and what that first message is.

Good spot, it doesn't happen to me often but you can see him trying to move towards the ball and bouncing off an invisible wall. Eesh. If that happened to me and I conceded to it, I don't know that I could play the game again, in all honesty.
 
The most funny thing actually its that you spend millions of dollars to get messi license
Then you go one and make him and he in the game be the most realistic representation of a player in a game ever
And now you ruin everything, the game still can be funny but it got fifed

The game is not running smoothly although my specifications are actually top. Do you have an idea what I need to change the attitude. I play in windowed mode and already use borderless gaming, but that does not really help either.

Same problem here. I have i7-8700, 16gb ram and rtx 2070.
It seems that Konami will fix with next update. The problem is related to lack of vsync in game settings. Try to enable vsync from Nvidia control panel and check if your game runs better.
Hawke suggests to set crowd details to low. It doesn’t work form me but works for someone else.
Let me know.
 
Simply put: a sad, frustrating mess of a game. I got fooled by some of the genius comments here calling this thing "the greatest football simulation" and wasted my money, only to find it has all of Konami's greatest hits:

-Superhuman AI defenders.
-Pathetic human defenders.
-Every rebound falling directly on AI's feet.
-AI forwards holding off 3 human defenders like they're children.
-Forwards running straight toward goal all the time and taking markers with them, blowing the offside trap and opening huge gaps on the pitch.
-Goalies staying glued to the six yard box no matter what.

And don't get me started on the graphics. The night lighting is an absolute joke: shiny, artificial and nothing like the real stadiums. The only setting that looks decent is "day/cloudy with rain".

I'll wait a month or so to see what the mods can do. As of now, it's back to my modded PES 17.

I have i79700k, 16gb ram and rtx 2060 and get little bits of stutter here and there, but nothing game breaking. It's definitely an issue with the game, obviously. Because i am sure i did not have it in the demo so they have changed something between then and now

That sounds like you are on PC. Yeah we are stucked here. Just make a new steam account rather until then and use sider to increase match time. Thats the real deal.

Happened me a few times. Drove me to uninstall the game. I’ll come back to it in a few months, hopefully they’ll have fixed it by then. I’m not too optimistic though.

I have same situation with the demo: it ran like a charm in 2K with max details.
 
For those who use "low latency mode = on" in Nvidia, what does it actually do?

And in general, what does each of the vsync options in the pes settings do off, 1 and 2 (when they get put back in)? cheers
