eFootball PES 2020 Discussion Thread (PC)

Mates how to check if cpu is enough for pes or is it a bottleneck for gpu ? Any program ?
I have i8700 and wonder if it isn't to weak in combo with rtx 2060 super ...
You have power enough to run the game with max quality @2560x1440. Maybe @ 4K as well.

To commemorate the release of PESWORLD eFootball PES 2020 Option Files (OF), i thought i'm gonna write a simple tutorial for PC user:

For this tutorial sake, we are going to use PES World eFootball PES 2020 English league 1 OF 2048.zip as example:

PREPARATION
Please only download from PESWORLD official website

1. Get your OF here
2. Use 7-Zip/WinZip/WinRAR, unpack PES World eFootball PES 2020 English league 1 OF 2048.zip to eFootball PES 2020 save game directory (default: Documents\KONAMI\eFootball PES 2020\WEPES)
3. Still inside the WEPES folder, create a folder "PARTNER IMAGE"
4. Still inside the WEPES folder, create a folder "STADIUM IMAGE"
5. Still inside the WEPES folder, create a folder "MANAGER IMAGE"
6. Open the unpacked PES World eFootball PES 2020 English league 1 OF 2048\WEPES folder in [step 2.]
7. Filter keyword "PARTNER" (use Windows Search), select all, cut and paste .png to folder in [step 3.]
8. Filter keyword "STADIUM" (use Windows Search), select all, cut and paste .png to folder in [step 4.]
9. Filter keyword "MANAGER" (use Windows Search), select all, cut and paste .png to folder in [step 5.]
10. Leave kits and team files (.ted & .png) intact in PES World eFootball PES 2020 English league 1 OF 2048 folder

IN-GAME IMPORTS
Basically we are going to import the PARTNER logo, STADIUM name, MANAGER photo and lastly the TEAM files

11. Launch the game, navigate to SETTINGS -> EDIT
12. Select IMPORT/EXPORT -> IMPORT IMAGES -> SPONSOR LOGO IMAGE -> IMPORT SELECTED IMAGE
13. On the right panel -> select ONLY PARTNER image as in [step 7.] -> select OK, wait until finished importing
14. Select IMPORT/EXPORT -> IMPORT IMAGES -> STADIUM IMAGE -> IMPORT SELECTED IMAGE
15. On the right panel -> select ONLY STADIUM image as in [step 8.] -> select OK, wait until finished importing
16. Select IMPORT/EXPORT -> IMPORT IMAGES -> MANAGER PHOTO -> IMPORT SELECTED IMAGE
17. On the right panel -> select ONLY MANAGER image as in [step 9.] -> select OK, wait until finished importing

IMPORTING TEAM FILES
This step will import team details including its respective PARTNER, STADIUM and MANAGER image to your game

18. Still inside EDIT mode, select IMPORT/EXPORT -> IMPORT TEAM (if this is your first time, complete the import tutorial first)
19. In SELECT FILE menu -> choose SELECT ALL FILES -> select GO TO DETAILED SETTINGS.
20. Ensure APPLY PLAYER AND SQUAD DATA. and OVERWRITING IMAGE FILES OF THE SAME NAME checkbox are UNCHECKED
21. Select OK, wait until all team finished importing

FINAL THOUGHTS

  • This tutorial is strictly written using PESWORLD OF
By using method above, you should be able to enjoy the complete package of PESWORLD OF including all of its partner, stadium and manager image
This method prevent importing team files from failing
To avoid from getting overwhelmed, it is recommended to import maximum of 1 - 3 leagues at one time
Consider backing up Documents\KONAMI\eFootball PES 2020 folder after completed importing all OF

Very powerful CPU, you may possibly need a better GPU for high frame rates in cutscenes (100+ 1440p)

Are there any very kind people out there willing to do a video on how to use Sider and how to get scoreboards, tv logos etc.
A few of us are new to PC and have no idea.
Greatly appreciated
Thanks

Was about to request the same myself. It's been a long time sine I messed around with this game.

Dribbling, skills, and tricks in this game are useful as hemorrhoids.

Now you do not need players like Neymar, they are useless. Because for using skills need step forward-thinking with fast reaction, and Konami hates that, they want the skill gap to be none so let's screw it, let's make X-holding enough to stop anyone who dares to do something interesting or improvise with feint and dribble.

You need just fast sprinting, quick acceleration and...... strong ass players.
Yep, the BEST tool to screw up defense is just to turn your back and defenders will crash there, or he'll stick to your back hiding out of the ball and NOTHING he can do. BUT if you left stick dribbling, turning, or tricks, the defenders will smash you like a sheet of paper.

It's only me or passing the ball is so unstoppable most of the time? defenders appear to be scared of the ball when it is from the pass, yeah most of the time is rolling stupidly fast or a way to slowly, but defenders have a hard time with it anyway. Are they do that because they want from all to play say way, and to compensate the pre-scripted " randomness" with bad passes that happen with same situation.

Pretty easy my friend.
Think of Sider as the "bridge" between PES and the Mods that come in form of Modules.

Sider reads the config from Sider.ini which is where all the modules are listed and then get directions about what to do from each Module.

So, for example:
You can have the Sider.exe in PES2020 folder.
Then, in Sider.ini, you need to list the modules you have inside the Modules folder.

Furthermore you can have extra content, that you'd usually use through DPFileList (.CPK files) as LiveCPK (which basically are the files extracted from the CPKs and put inside any folder you want for easier access).

You should read the files inside the "Doc" folder of the pack you downloaded with Sider.

Can sb explain attack1 , attack2, defence1, defence2 are activated automatically in preset tactic ? I noticed that during match when I change tactic I see that in the bottom of screen blinks Attacking Full Backs, Wing Rotation, Swarm the box ... does it mean that in that chosen tactic all these 3 options works ?

You can choose 2 attack tactics and 2 defense tactics (or none). Match will start with all selected tactics already on, or you can turn them off and on on the fly during the match. Nothing difficult. Same layout for the past 4 to 5 years.

Ive downloaded Sider from first page and when I open it I get message saying it cant run? Great start haha.

Isn't real football always like this? Those fancy, chained skills are only useful when you're in a 5-sides match or street football. In most duel, given ample space, defenders will always comes out of top.

Hi guys. I went to start a match today after the game ran perfectly at 60fps high settings last night and in today's game I was getting a very stuttery 45fps. I honestly don't know what's wrong because my pc can run it and I've got the latest graphics drivers so any help would be appreciated!

Edit: just restarted my pc and now I'm getting 60fps again, what is going on?

Specs:
FX 6300
Rx 570
8gb ram
1920x1080

"An unexpected problem has occurred while communicating with the pes 2020 server"
CODE:C_GKCC_0002_10054

Had that since day i installed, must be one of the very few still not to have the live update lol

Have no idea how to fix...

But this is a game, not real life. Besides I hate that excuse "doesn't that happen in real life?" Well, yea it does but their mistakes are their own whereas in PES my mistakes are not - in fact according to the controls and laws of inertia I've done everything right but somehow still lose the ball and some of the madness I see in PES isn't adding to the reality. How about when you press change cursor and nothing happens, this happen in real life too?

PES is a game first of all, the controls should be sharp, accurate and concise and most of all CONSISTENT! What you get in this game is the AI randomizing the outcomes when it suits and this can take the shape of passes, tricks, runs, player support, cursor change, passes, shots all going awry at any point. It seems your actions are put through a mini-randomizer and the outcomes dictated by the AI depending on the situation (though with each PES they've been trying to disguise it and make it more subtle or harder to detect but basically they're all just designed to make you lose the ball or negate what you had intended.

It's been growing with every PES.

Which I suppose begs the question...

Q. Why would Konami do such a thing?

A. Two reasons:

1). To create a false sense of competition

..but more importantly

2). To stop the chance of people learning the game to a fault - In other words to prevent people from mastering the game, so you can't get to a point where you know how to score from any angle/range or to solo take it around the entire team (in terms of tricks etc), at a competitive level.

We learn games too much and we end up breaking them as we do. So this is Konami's way of preventing this.

If you don't believe me look for yourself, go have a game offline on easy (AI will stand off you) though everything will more or less work as it should. Then go online or play at the hardest difficulty and you will suddenly see very clearly the inconsistencies appear. Passes will much more often not won't work as they did, tricks are implemented a lot slower than before and/or you're just intercepted (computer says no - even though you outsmarted it!), movement in general feels much more sluggish, shooting is a floating travesty, AI become terminators in the last third, you don't win balls in the air and there is generally no way to get the ball UNTIL the AI decides.

It's clearly a game of split personality.

Now the thing is, why don't Konami just give us the tools to decide, make things consistent, let skill rein, make buttons work 100%, passes be consistent to power used, same with shots and movement to be consistent with player ability and remove the underlying script altogether. How can this be counter you might think if Konami did this? Well, to create consistency in defending as well by making tackles consistent across the board, no slippery unrealistic changing of speed (the moment you guess right) but consistency, making press actually work when engaged. When you win a tackle you should get the ball not some silly bobble/deflection straight back to AI, change players should be 100% consistent and even the change off player (to allow you to target another player while using someone else), in its current form that's just rubbish but if it actually worked, but no Konami want to jus keep implementing scripts instead of making everything consistent and fair and letting our own skill decide who is best.

Who wouldn't want this?

Of course not... in real football defender cant mirror physically and " binary" , almost perfectly, in real time all your buttons and direction pushing, to know what animation and move to expect... are they !?? And please don't nitpicking from "real word and football " card, because in such a dispute I can do it too. You should know that there are many things in games and PES that are not comparable to real football.

Otherwise, your position in the last sentence is, to put it mildly, absurd. There are no situations and spaces that defend or attack, always and anytime come out of the top! In football, things always happen based on personal motivation, skills, physical condition, tactics, chance and above all self-esteem.

Sorry, while I respect your personal opinion I can't agree with most of that. For me personally, the more I play it, the more I'm enjoying it and getting to grips with it. I'm switching between Top Player and Superstar on -2 game speed and it's a joy to play.

I have zero problems winning headers, I can win a higher percentage of headers v AI than they do against me.

I also use manual shooting. I don't think the assisted passing is particularly bad at all, but for the last few years I have always felt that there is something slightly off with assisted shooting (mainly I was normally hitting the ball with too much power), so I switched to manual shooting years ago and while it's a bit of a learning curve, I find it much more rewarding in the long run and I have better control over my shot placement, speed etc.

As for defending I'm also finding that really fair, 50% of the time I use the player I'm controlling to track back the players that ARE NOT on the ball and use the pressure button to send my AI teammate to harrass the guy with the ball to either make a mistake or I have covered the passing lanes if he attempts the pass. (The AI can still misplace plenty of passes, even on Superstar difficulty).

I also have zero problems beating defenders (I almost always play every football game as Spurs, so warranted with Son, Moura, Alli and Lamela I'm hardly bereft of fast players) but I also try and break down the opposition defence slowly and only try to sprint 1v1 when it's actually beneficial to attempt it. I literally never ever attempt skill moves to beat a man, if you want that to be a thing, playing Fifa may be a better bet.

While I can't deny player switching occasionally messes up, this has happened in every football game ever in the history of the universe, but I don't think it happens as much as you appear to make out.

So, each to their own, but this year, for me at least, I think it's a classic.

You're playing the PC version right?

I agree with all of this. Although I'm manual passing and normal shooting. It's entirely possibly to dribble around and/or skip past defenders in your path. It's just not the best option most of the time. I've been playing Master League with the default players (mostly crap) and no transfers in the first window; it really teaches you how to appreciate specific attributes. I wish players didn't fall over quite so much in general, but the tackling and physicality is mostly adjustable to.

Okay, just tried first ML match, good lord. What a nightmare. Can anyone advise how to force your idiot CBs to get in the same vague zip code as the strikers?

Conceded 3 goals, all identical - ball into the feet of the striker (with my CBs awol), striker takes a touch in the opposite of my frantic player switching, scores.

The second goal I managed to get in position, blocked the first shot, my CB stumbled, stood blindly as the striker calmly took a second attempt and scored.

Have played 10 odd matches in exhibition and it was a problem, but nowhere near this bad.

Sure. That must be why Messi, Ronaldo and Salah are indistinguishable on the pitch from players like Busquets and Casemiro. Their tricks and skills are only good for "5-side matches or street football". In real football Messi can't beat his man any better than Pique can. Right!?...

I love how fans of "real football" always hate dribbling but have no problem with nonsense like rebounds ALWAYS landing toward ONE team or a small AI forward out-muscling multiple large defenders as if he's an adult professional playing against a local U-12!

According to these experts dribbling by world famous dribblers is "unrealistic", but the same players just turning their backs and holding off much bigger defenders as long as they want is perfectly normal!

Some people simply hate anything that makes the game exciting, creative and unpredictable, and they call this insanity "realism". As long as there are so many clueless fans out there I'm not optimistic about Konami getting its act together.
