eFootball PES 2020 Discussion Thread (PC)

Sure. That must be why Messi, Ronaldo and Salah are indistinguishable on the pitch from players like Busquets and Casemiro. Their tricks and skills are only good for "5-side matches or street football". In real football Messi can't beat his man any better than Pique can. Right!?...

I love how fans of "real football" always hate dribbling but have no problem with nonsense like rebounds ALWAYS landing toward ONE team or a small AI forward out-muscling multiple large defenders as if he's an adult professional playing against a local U-12!

According to these experts dribbling by world famous dribblers is "unrealistic", but the same players just turning their backs and holding off much bigger defenders as long as they want is perfectly normal!

Some people simply hate anything that makes the game exciting, creative and unpredictable, and they call this insanity "realism". As long as there are so many clueless fans out there I'm not optimistic about Konami getting its act together.
I think you've misinterpreted what the losslesscompression was saying, he was saying the chained skills are only really good for street football, dribbling is completely different than putting together 'chain skills'. Dribbling in PES 20 is more difficult than it was in PES 19, but once you get used to is it's fairly simple To use your example, Messi can dribble past most players in PES 20 if you know what you are doing, as can Salah, Ronaldo etc etc, you just need to practice at it until you can do it.

There is obviously a massive difference between every player in PES 20, from how they move in general to how they dribble.

No-one here is clueless, people just enjoy different things. I'm enjoying PES 20 more than any other football game I've ever played, it probably ranks higher than PES 6 and FIFA 12 after only a few days. I'm not clueless, I just like the game. If you don't, fine, find a different game to play, or just get better at this one. But there's no need to get personal at people who are enjoying something you're struggling with.

Also, warning to any DS4 PC users, make sure you haven't adjusted the deadzones on your active profile when playing PES, it makes a massive different to how players turn and react. It changes their movement from smooth turns, to sudden turns which message with everything from first touches, to controlling and dribbling the ball. Found this out accidentally last night after having a nightmare couple of matches. Not sure how I switched DS4 profile while playing, but I did.

Now the thing is, why don't Konami just give us the tools to decide, make things consistent, let skill rein, make buttons work 100%, passes be consistent to power used, same with shots and movement to be consistent with player ability and remove the underlying script altogether. How can this be counter you might think if Konami did this? Well, to create consistency in defending as well by making tackles consistent across the board, no slippery unrealistic changing of speed (the moment you guess right) but consistency, making press actually work when engaged. When you win a tackle you should get the ball not some silly bobble/deflection straight back to AI, change players should be 100% consistent and even the change off player (to allow you to target another player while using someone else), in its current form that's just rubbish but if it actually worked, but no Konami want to jus keep implementing scripts instead of making everything consistent and fair and letting our own skill decide who is best.

Who wouldn't want this?
KONAMI wants to maximize their profit with microtransactions, so they aren't interested in creating a game where bad players lose all of their matches. That's psychology 101.

The thing is, I've played this a lot already (played a few MyClub games the first day or so, but once I had a decent option file it's been pure Master League since and I'm 18 months in). I have seen some of your complaints manifest. But I learnt quite quickly that apart from the occasional (once every 4 games or so) player walk away from the ball, the rest is all down to poor players and/or poor play.

The rebounds thing is nearly always letting players get too close to goal from out wide and/or having a defender/multiple defenders far to deep playing the rebound scorer onside.

For the dribbling, I don't think you watch 90 minute games with Messi, Ronaldo or Salah. More often than not, they dribble into trouble and lose the ball or they get muscled out. Why they are amazing is because the times when they pull something off and it works is higher than other players, so they generate more goals/chances.

In this game you can absolutely hold off defenders, either through strength, or through a really weak player with good balance and tight control (whatever the new stat for that is called). You just need to use R2 to keep the ball in the right place when receiving and absolutely not try and sprint too close to strong defenders (sprinting vastly reduces your balance making it more likely for you to stumble/be knocked over). In the right situation you can easily sprint pass players (mainly when they over commit like Salah vs David Luiz recently). I've even acquired a couple of decent players that can dribble WELL. and have managed the odd step-over burst and such to weave past 2 defenders at once. It's a rare magical thing, but it's certainly possible.

This is the pay full truth, that anyone wants to ignore.
Thx god, somebody else to say it too...

Okay, just tried first ML match, good lord. What a nightmare. Can anyone advise how to force your ***** CBs to get in the same vague zip code as the strikers?

Conceded 3 goals, all identical - ball into the feet of the striker (with my CBs awol), striker takes a touch in the opposite of my frantic player switching, scores.

The second goal I managed to get in position, blocked the first shot, my CB stumbled, stood blindly as the striker calmly took a second attempt and scored.

Have played 10 odd matches in exhibition and it was a problem, but nowhere near this bad.

What camera angle are you using? While I do think there is a problem with defending, I found reducing the angle setting on the default camera helped a lot. Having the angle swing round (which it does mainly in the final third when you're defending) means that if you're holding a direction with a running defender, that direction changes as the camera moves and can cause the defender to change direction or take a step off the path you want which can be enough to take him out of the game.

There are fundamental issues with defending, but stopping the camera swinging about helps with some of them in my experience.

You can choose 2 attack tactics and 2 defense tactics (or none). Match will start with all selected tactics already on, or you can turn them off and on on the fly during the match. Nothing difficult. Same layout for the past 4 to 5 years.

Yes but if I set attack 1 and attack 2 which of them will be realized during match ? How do I know which attack is working in the moment ?

Did anyone knew how to solve this problem?
" NEW DATA ASSET DOWNLOAD UNSUCCESSFUL"

Try to delete the option file you're using. Start from 0.
Let the LiveUpdate download everything, and then start importing the teams (kits/logos) again.

It's like the game can't download and install the update when you already modified teams, kits, logos, etc.

That solved it for me, last week.

I did that but it doesn't work, I started from 0 and nothing, maybe deleting the new data file?

Interesting, will give that a try. Was infuriating yesterday, just couldn't stop strikers in the box at all.

Both, see the circle (that has 4 quarters) next to the player name plate. The lit quarters mean they are active (red for the attack).
You need to read the game manual. Or see the game help section.

There won’t be. They don’t even know how to remove a mistakenly-added third kit from their own game so just put the first one in twice.

The entire structure the game is built around is creaking like a Jenga tower and none of them want to risk doing anything. That’s why all the modes have been the same for years.

Yes I am mate.
Then could you do me a small favour?

Could you go online and play a 1v1 game (vs player) or play a MyClub game but if you play the MyClub game can you change your team around so the spirit is poor - this will put you at a disadvantage and will allow you to see the scripting a little better.

Play a game on either of those and then let get back to me, if you would be so kind.

Thanks.

Sorry mate but I have exactly 0 interest in MyClub. Never played MyClub or Ultimate Team and have no intention of starting to play that Lootbox bollocks. Whilst I have made a backup of the original game data, my game is supermodded, so I can't play online even if I wanted to. Maybe I should have clarified in my post that I'm a strictly offline player. Cheers.

Hey guys, I hope this is the right thread as I'm posting here for the first time. I'm usually just a silent reader here, but I would like to say thank you for all your efforts to improve the game, and in particular for not bombing everything with all kinds of ad links and referrals. Most larger patches have become undownloadable if you value your PC's safety over browsing dozens of malicious ad and tracking sites just to reach a Pastbin site leading to even more of those, and EvoWeb has become my main source of updating and modifying PES for that reason + the quality provided here for no direct or indirect charge at all. Thank you all, you are appreciated.

Nobody here are playing myClub. Like it is a plague (which it is, btw).

But I do, and everything is just same like before.

You have to find a way to score one goal more then opponent. No matter disadvantages you are handicapped with.

For top players, there is no script/handicap.

It is reserved for players below first 100 places on the table.

Yes, there is an advantage when playing with 75 TS, over full 99 TS. It still does not mean you`ll win.
And sometimes there is not.

Works..very nice simple idea mate...better than my hex edit the shit out of the exe :)
I did put another "0" in front of 0.0.0. pes20-x64-gate.cs.konami.net...so

127.0.0.1 pes20-x64-gate.cs.konami.net
0.0.0.0. pes20-x64-gate.cs.konami.net
127.0.0.1 gate.cs.konami.net
0.0.0.0 gate.cs.konami.net
127.0.0.1 34.210.179.237
0.0.0.0 34.210.179.237
I wish I had seen this before... I just created a firewall rule to block PES 2020 from touching the net altogether but this is indeed easier and extremely effective aswell. :TU:

Hi Everyone, Can anyone tell me how the BAL training works? I have no idea how to improve my player, I've just switched from Fifa to PES this year. Thanks

Any ideas with bottleneck, very rarely, mainly when many players gather in the same time on the field.
I checked that i8700 with rtx2070 causes maximum 3% bottleneck and many users confirmed that 8700 is good eneugh for rtx 2070 so why I see the game is chocking from time to time ?

Task Manager:
CPU usage 65% , temp. 70 degree
GPU usage 98% temp. 70 degree

You have a good system(good cpu cpd good gpu), no bottlenecks. What's your ram speed? You have all drivers installed (chipset, nvidia, direct x, etc.)?
1440p? What is your monitor refresh rate?
