eFootball PES 2020 Discussion Thread (PC)

very first impressions after three half times; same teams than in demo exibition mode, superstar, manual passing:
- fouls different: now it doesn't whistle the minimal contact anymore; actually it doesn't whistle; it's a game changer because, before you had to think before to make a standing tackle, now you can press a button as a crazy (like always, same pes as all the years)
- difficulty is easier; the good is that cpu defenders don't seem superheroes anymore in their own area; I also already scored a couple of goals with volleys from crosses (in the demo almost impossible)
- passing seems much more assisted, who says ball movement is more rigid is probably right
- trapping seems easier
- cpu is playing less direct; more back passages; I also see less cpu dribblings (well of course it's waaay easier to disposses cpu)
- you can create more chances (before it was too tight, now a bit too loose, god players make a difference, but not with sprint; I have seen a couple of "catch ups" already
- side backs push too much and it's too easy to cross; throug passes are more efficients (that is good; before it was impossible)
- They really removed the option for vsync (off, 1,2) so now at 75hz I have tearing...great....it was smooth like butter in the demo
- they managed to worsen the palettes colours: if before they were oversaturated now they are a punch in the eye
- Game is NOT faster, but is rather simplified, players are not quicker to move; it's just seems different, you have to think less to build up a play. Globally not tragic but the demo had a different feeling; it's more like 2019; still much better that that crap. Compared to the demo I like more how you are freer to make some actions in the last part of the field

update after other 3 matches (EXHIBITION); THE GOOD:
- I can confirm that cpu defenders are less superheroes
- small teams plays like small teams (at least 1-2 stars at superstar exhibition mode
- players aren't lighter; actually they are heavier (good)
- THERE ARE cpu fouls; user's foul not much
- stamina works
- too me the game is NOT faster; is SLOWER (good)

I managed to fix the tearing problem: download nvidia profile inspector. Set :
- frame rate limiter: set it to your maximum screen refresh rate (mine 75hz)
- preferred refreshrate: highest available
- triple buffering: on
- Vsync: force off
- vsync smooth behaviour: on
- vsync tear control: adaptive

the not so good:
- what I wrote in the previous post plus:
ball is bigger and heavier (good) but it is more rigid (bad)
shooting a little easier (not free as in demo)

The game is really heavy! With a core i9 7920x , 16GB DDR4 and a GTX 1660ti i can't play it in max settings, really low FPS... something is wrong with this...

You got a monster cpu with that crappy GPU?
This game for 1440p needs 2070 or 1080 for high refresh and for stable cutscenes

Maybe the settings.exe & dll from the demo will work with full game Cesc ?

Do you still have it? Because Steam automatically deleted the Demo after installing the full game.

I have this problem since PES2018, no option in Nvidia Panel can change it. There is some kind of Setup with 1440p, 144hz and Gsync where you get stuttering when setting the cutscenes to 60fps. Only the 30fps option helps with Gsync doing some magic. The Vsync Option 2 in the Demo however fixed all of those problems and now it's gone.

Demo got fucking removed by steam after i installed the full game. I never touched it!

Same built as today's release. I think we are screwed unless we can do wonders with the cpk edits.

I backuped the files from the demo; if you only need the settings file i can upload it (if you have settings problem you can try what I posted above with nvidia profile inspector

I'd advise to change highest frames possible to application controlled. It can really mess with the game and it isn't like PES needs to be pushing for CS:GO frame rates and, to my knowledge, PES doesn't have a frame cap anyway? Even my 2080ti was stuttering at random times on 2019 and I couldn't work out why. After a google search I found many people saying that was the cause, and low and beyond, I changed it to application controlled and never so much as dropped a frame again.

I've found the new low latency mode makes a genuine positive difference, which is nice :))

What option excactly do I have to set in nvidia panel to avoid the problem you mentioned ?

You can create a new steam account and download the demo that way.

I just tested the demo settings - no vysnc in PES settings, enhanced sync or vsync off in AMD settings, and the game runs perfectly.

With the full version, the game is struggling with any settings.

Running a Radeon RX580 with an 8 year old intel i5.

Really enjoying this so far. Ai has looked really impressive. Don't think I've ever been this worried about an ai player running at my defence before

-defending is horrendous without the fouls, players bouncing off eachother nonstop
-passing as well has been tweaked feels stiff and often goes wherever it wants, essentiall i think its more assisted
-not to mention the random ball bounces are gone totally ( @Chris Davies can be happy :P )
-and i cant see the cpu dribble at me at all, pass and move just pass and move
-on top i cant even speed burst/dribble like in the demo

now this is what i call PES2019 2.0
cant fucking believe it

I am finding the frame rate on PC a little choppy despite the demo running perfectly. Also tried importing an option file and got nothing but errors. Not the best of starts this year. Been playing the PS4 version since the weekend and it is good but the lighting is atrocious, as are the fit of the kits and the turf. Hopefully I can get the PC version running properly soon!

If you're having problems with option files try removing the stadium and manager pictures. That's what got it working for me

I agree 1000%: the more I play the more it looks like pes 2019 1.1
I must also correct my sentence: small teams plays like small teams: well yeah individually you can telle they are worst; but some of them have tactics in which they continue to do tiki taka like barcelona with 90% correct passes.
Also : I played like one of these one star chinese teams: I won 5-0, then I played and won 3 more matches against other teams; I played again against the chinese team and now they were so strong that I lost...2-1.
Probably cpu memorize the result s and adjust difficulty ( i didn't lock the system settings in read only because I wanted to unlock legend; that I did: now gonna try that level) Anyway at the moment disappointed to say the least

The option file I was trying to import didn't have manager or stadium pictures, just kits and emblems. I will wait until another one surfaces. Given the jumps in frame rate I wouldn't play it just now anyway.

Disappointed for the final game so far. While demo felt more or less like real football this feels just a video game. Something was lost in the changes Konami made from the demo to final release. Maybe I start to like it if giving it time. If not then I just uninstall it and reinstall demo..

Is the Demo BETTER than the "gold" release?

I just wanted the demo plus more teams :(

Everything about the demo was as close to perfection as I have seen from PES for many a year.

I held off buying as I have major trust issues with Konami after recent years but I really thought they had nailed it.

With the missing vsynch options, I wonder if the Demo is actually updated BEYOND the gold release?

Anyone else experienced issues with lag? I have a PC that can run some heavy games on ultra, but PES? Nah, that isnt smooth at all, especially when using OBS. Any ideas?

What kind of lag? As in stuttering or responsiveness?

Go into the nvidia settings and turn on the low latency mode, and change framerate to application controlled.
