eFootball PES 2020 Discussion Thread (PC)

So ive gone for the following in Nvidia settings

- Disable the Nvidia overlay
- Monitor tech - GSYNC compatible
- Highest frames possible
- Low latency mode - on
- Vsync - Application controlled
- triple buffer on
I'd advise to change highest frames possible to application controlled. It can really mess with the game and it isn't like PES needs to be pushing for CS:GO frame rates and, to my knowledge, PES doesn't have a frame cap anyway? Even my 2080ti was stuttering at random times on 2019 and I couldn't work out why. After a google search I found many people saying that was the cause, and low and beyond, I changed it to application controlled and never so much as dropped a frame again.

I've found the new low latency mode makes a genuine positive difference, which is nice :))

btw...is it me or the retail game is more unresponsive than the demo? perhaps its just the cpu pressing but it gives that feel

Damn!

Did it make you download the whole game again?

yeah and of course it gets the cpk files first, so i have to wait to see the exe at last probably to find out if im doing it right or not. dling again, now it works

Just found out recently that you'd be getting the code either way. No disc for years now. So thats a shocker that i got Wildlands with 5-6 discs :D

Oh, really? Damn. Did not know that! Well, too bad I spent a few hours hounding around for the game when I could've been downloading/installing it, then, haha. Still on 83% installation here, goddamn it takes a long time!

Highest frame available will output the game to whatever the highest refresh of your TV/monitor is. I played 2019 and now 2020 at 120hz on a RTX2080 and it is smooth as silk and has never dropped a frame or stuttered once.

The missing new Vsync options from the Demo are literally ruining my day. It was the first time for me that my 144hz Gsync setup worked perfectly on cutscenes and now it's missing :(

I decided to purchase the game and take advantage of the steam refund system if the game failed to impress. After the first few games I have to say this PES2020 is a keeper for me. It's got 1 or 2 minor issues, like horrible baggy kits which I thought they would have fixed before launch and some gameplay concerns but apart from that I'm satisfied it's an improvement over PES 2019.

My thoughts up to now (Only played one game)

I played on the difficulty top player as in the demo superstar was very difficult for me, I played as Manchester United vs Inter Milan at home.

I won the game 3-0 creating lots of chances, the referees seem more lenient than the demo but the AI conceded two fouls which I would like them to increase slightly, one them was a freekick which I scored under the wall by Rashford.

I like the gameplay it seems more open it's quite difficult not to smash the sprint button.

Then I went on my club where I packed Modric, van Dijk, Nakata, and Chiellini were my best players.

Up to now, I am very happy with the game. I'm going to up the difficulty to superstar though, I just wish my pes universe option files had worked but it doesn't at the minute so have to wait for them to release a new one.

very first impressions after three half times; same teams than in demo exibition mode, superstar, manual passing:
- fouls different: now it doesn't whistle the minimal contact anymore; actually it doesn't whistle; it's a game changer because, before you had to think before to make a standing tackle, now you can press a button as a crazy (like always, same pes as all the years)
- difficulty is easier; the good is that cpu defenders don't seem superheroes anymore in their own area; I also already scored a couple of goals with volleys from crosses (in the demo almost impossible)
- passing seems much more assisted, who says ball movement is more rigid is probably right
- trapping seems easier
- cpu is playing less direct; more back passages; I also see less cpu dribblings (well of course it's waaay easier to disposses cpu)
- you can create more chances (before it was too tight, now a bit too loose, god players make a difference, but not with sprint; I have seen a couple of "catch ups" already
- side backs push too much and it's too easy to cross; throug passes are more efficients (that is good; before it was impossible)
- They really removed the option for vsync (off, 1,2) so now at 75hz I have tearing...great....it was smooth like butter in the demo
- they managed to worsen the palettes colours: if before they were oversaturated now they are a punch in the eye
- Game is NOT faster, but is rather simplified, players are not quicker to move; it's just seems different, you have to think less to build up a play. Globally not tragic but the demo had a different feeling; it's more like 2019; still much better that that crap. Compared to the demo I like more how you are freer to make some actions in the last part of the field

This is crazy - not a single frame drop on 240hz, and we get this abomination with the release. I'm going back to the demo for now.

That's nice to hear.

Hey Guys, chiming in on the discussion. I have the 5700 xt card and had some framerate issues with the demo when launching it the first time. This time however, I didn't have to change the options and the game is running fine.
The game however, sheesh where do I begin.
-Less fouls, this goes both ways. I had a really dirty tackle where the opponent even clipped my player's legs. No foul however. Looked really weird.
-passing seems to be changed. I feel like I underhit every pass, playing on PA1. Also on the cpu teams the balls sometimes moves really slow. Like too slow for the rest of the animations.
-dribbling or rather passing an opponent is harder than the demo. Catchup bug and machine-like reactions of the cpu.
-...
Overall liked the demo better I think.

What infuriates me more however is that every fkn year we get the same crap. Having to wait till 18:00 to play the game... Having to wait for an update to fix the rosters… It's really amateurish.

You are right, I checked it again. It is as you suggested it.

Game runs at 144fps, it's responsive and most importantly plays great.

I'm running at 144fps @ 1440p and no issues at all. My settings are in my previous post

Demo was great
Final game is inferior no doubt. Less free, slightly rigid ball, more accurate passes, inferior colors...

I wish I never played the demo

PS: You think demo has also got changed to the new code? I uninstalled it days ago and can't say for the moment.

Really ?!?!?, OMG, a decided to purchase after they implemented NO vsync option in the demo, I had been find the perfect formula for my PC - Driver combo. :CURSE::CURSE::CURSE::CURSE::CURSE::CURSE::CURSE::CURSE::CURSE::CURSE:

Maybe the settings.exe & dll from the demo will work with full game Cesc ?

Do you still have it? Because Steam automatically deleted the Demo after installing the full game.

I have this problem since PES2018, no option in Nvidia Panel can change it. There is some kind of Setup with 1440p, 144hz and Gsync where you get stuttering when setting the cutscenes to 60fps. Only the 30fps option helps with Gsync doing some magic. The Vsync Option 2 in the Demo however fixed all of those problems and now it's gone.

Demo got fucking removed by steam after i installed the full game. I never touched it!

Damn!

Same built as today's release. I think we are screwed unless we can do wonders with the cpk edits.

The game is really heavy! With a core i9 7920x , 16GB DDR4 and a GTX 1660ti i can't play it in max settings, really low FPS... something is wrong with this...
