PES Universe are there and playing the game. They've posted something about a "misplaced pass".
Now I had my suspicions... On PA1, which you play on by default (and I suspect they're playing on too, I've spoken to Barry and he's not the PA3 type), on PES 2019, it is
literally impossible to misplace a pass other than to hit one out of play.
"Can be over-powered or under-powered" - but not off-target.
"Happens with lesser-skilled players or first-time passes" - but every normal pass... Perfect.
That answers my biggest question...
I'm really hoping he's just misunderstood the question or rushed and gave non fleshed out answer.
You pick which team in a derby match that you "support", and then every time you win online, you earn that team points. Yep.
Isn't this a mode FIFA had for a long time?
its good
but why not just give the option to crate a-b-c leagues as much we want
anyway the community can crate all the leagues they want to .
the community can crate new leagues for new country , the potential of this is huge.
when people that play fifa always says that we have alot of leagues fifa why should i play pes?
Exactly, I'm not an expert on the "database issue" But surely if it's possible to add leagues on the PC version by fans, Why can't Konami just give us blank or fake leagues and let the community take care of it?
Really? Did they say it on the stream tonight? I have to ask, at what expense, have they lost Ligue 1 & 2 as a result? lol
Sadly, Konami dont tend to just add stuff, they tend to add and take away.
Hey Simcut, Haven't seen you around here for a long time, didn't you work on the PESEdit patches?
My thinking on all this:
The PES team should have skipped E3 altogether this year. Release a trailer ahead of E3, leak tidbits of new features. Then do a full launch at Gamescom with professional presenters. Be both genuine and excited about what is in the game. Have presenters talking over people playing the game who are trying to make the game look good. Have Adam on hand to talk about specific things if there needs to be clarification on what might or might not be in a given build.
Currently, what they do with E3 is barely build any hype at all. It wasn't bad last year, because the build was close to finished given the early release date they set. But it looks like this year, the game is still in development, and so Adam keeps hedging his claims, and almost apologising for the quality of the current build. It's depressing, and it's terrible from a marketing perspective. If the build isn't good enough yet: don't show it. Really, it's that simple.
I don't think anyone is hyped hearing about the new branding, or the new buzzwords that some twats in suits have been bandying around a boardroom. They want a near-finished product and some solid details on the game. And they don't want to sit through a tortuous, repetitive shit show just to find that out.
It makes my eyes bleed. Own goals, all the time.
EDIT: oh, and other thing... this teasing of "ooh, we have some great news to announce which you guys will absolutely love..." – it's really shit. Just hype it the days before, not a month away. Not with vague hyperbole. Imagine tuning into that broadcast being curious about PES but not a fan? You'd be mystified about the game, and you'd find all this "hush hush we can't do a reveal yet teehee!" stuff really offputting.
I completely agree, The marketing of their games isn't their strongest point admittedly. They really need a trained, experienced public speaker to present these things and be the mouthpiece for their marketing. You can call them evil sales people all you want but this is an industry built upon selling a product at the end of the day and silver tongue spokespeople are large part of that. Dis-ingenious, yeah maybe but their pitching a product at the end of the day.
When these front men take the stage at E3 or in these booths, It's not just to give gamers a boner over an announcement, it's almost like a dragons den style pitch being that this is predominantly a trade event, to introduce and advertise upcoming games and game-related merchandise to retailers, investors and members of the press.
The part that i found a bit frustrating was the live stream, Have 2 people play the game by all means but you needed that 3rd person who's not distracted by playing the game, actually discussing it and explaining the features and what we're seeing. Not bantering and "argh-ing" mid sentence and losing his train of thought, not returning to a point he brought up. This isn't slating Adam either but i felt he couldn't concentrate on playing the game and presenting it at the same time.
It's a bit of a false dichotomy you're suggesting though there, right?
Like, a lot of people want some assistance, because they feel it better reflects the importance of unique stats. But they don't want it as totally on-rails as PA1 is. They want something like PA0.5, or semi-assist.
Exactly, Manual is great and all for freedom, unpredictability and challenge but with PA1, You want it to have some accurate range but with that margin for error so you can't just vapidly pass without even thinking about the decision you've made like we have now.
Hopefully there are more mishit passes in the final build, and less like this:
The problem with that last pass in the clip is that the pass makes absolutely no sense in the context of his body shape or the direction he's facing in. I can't tell who that is but i'm assuming it's Rakitic, Who is right footed. So he's doing this first time pass to a player who is directly behind him, can't see, with his weak foot and it still has enough power to find it's target. That's what breaks the immersion for me in regards to passing. It just seems like no matter what situation the player is in, they'll always release a successful pass.
Could well be a teenager/early twenties guy. Most of us grew up in a time where player faces did not matter because they were all bloody awful and very often hilarious. Cosmetic stuff is probably more naturally a focus point for people growing up with the kind of graphics you get in AAA titles these days.
I'm not saying that Konami should be obsessed with faces, or that fans should be... But I think it's perhaps less a facepalm moment in general when you consider how gaming/graphics/expectations have changed.
Caring about faces is silly. Because we should really be caring about...
...
BOOTS!
Haha there was a time when gamers were obsessed with boots and their respective DLC's.
I get why faces are important as it's part of the immersion, there's nothing wrong with authenticity in a realistic game and Konami have been outstanding in this department for accommodating players from around the world for clubs of all levels where as FIFA only really have faces for the most powerful teams in that game. God help you if you want to find an Dutch, Portuguese or South American club with any player faces.
Apart from the obvious "more faces are better", My theories with Konami's enthusiasm for faces over the last couple of years is 2 reasons:
- They want to future proof their face database with player faces of a consistent quality, style and modelling system similar to FIFA, When the day comes when Konami move to a new engine, they've figured out a way of preserving these models and porting them over like EA did with Ignite to Frostbite. We all know we lost a ton of player faces from PS2 to PS3/360 and then from PES 2013 to PES 2014. In the past they've redone them from scratch and sometimes they looked worse.
- In order to keep myClub, their biggest revenue generator as appealing and addictive as possible, they understand part of the incentive of opening balls is getting a shiny new player with a real face and a pair of boots. It's almost like a dopamine response from the purchaser that makes it feel like you got a legitimately unique player and is part of the satisfaction when you feel like you got a "somebody" compared to someone with a generic face, Just makes them seem less important i guess. It's shallow but that's my other theory
