That's strange...
What about the player cards? I can't remember if there's something for that.
I've made some screens here to compare. Am i missing something? I cant spot any reason why Coutinho is more lively.

Perhaps that Messi doesnt have any actual skills on the last screen (scotch move, double touch etc)? But in reality he doesnt do stuff like that, he still should close control and "dribble" and the playing styles justify that.

Due to the holiday season i started late playing the demo. After a couple of games i can't see where the euphorism is coming from.

Basicly it is PES2019 with a turf mod and dumbed down AI aggression to me.

I really hope legendary level can iron this out, as it is much too easy to get in front of the goal and keep a clean sheet at the moment.

Must have something to do with PlayerID.
I remember when Adam and someone else (maybe Robbye) were playing the game, he pointed out how Messi looked disinterested when the ball was far from him, or when the other team had the ball and he said something like "like in real life" (which threw me off, given he's their main man this year) and then the ball went to him and he took 2 or 3 rivals and he said "see? like in real life" or something very much like that.

Hang in there, mate.
If it doesn't click within the next 3 days, then there's something very wrong with you and you should get yourself checked by a specialist.

I noticed there is a "team class" option when searching for opponents online (it's grey now though). Would be great if there was a option to filter out people only using the top teams this time around.

guys ofc it's worth a try but I think it's too late to be making tweets. we don't even know if this demo was intentional, the things we think are improvements could be considered "bugs" by konami and already "fixed" for release. all you can really do is pray to the gaming gods at this point

Absolutely. I don’t understand Konsmi. Especially with all the new licenses and leagues it would be great to have the option to play against similar teams in divisions. This is an online experience killer for me. Friendlies are too boring because I want some competition.

MyClub could be phenomenal (even better than MLO if done correctly)....I remember when it was a new concept in 2015. It was ace back then because I was naïve to cheaters on the leaderboards and we were learning the game and the players.

So that was year 1. Surely you should be refining things in year 2? In year 2 they introduced player levels. Okay...so allow them that. Surely in Year 3 you will refine the game further - tackle the cheats, push for PA0 / PA1 arenas etc

year after year nothing but rehashed uninnovative tripe that puts online players off unless they are ridiculously addicted.

"we changed the controls for 2020 and we've released a phenomenal demo".

is that so I never have a chance to enjoy past pes like I used to and you can rinse me for another 5 years?

[ If online actually meant something and I'd be all over this demo practicing to be the best and I'd preorder so that I could join the online arena ASAP. ]

Eeh you might be right, but they were the ones asking for feedback in first place. I think it was well worth a try to let them hear our voices, just so we could say we tried everything.

Anyway, it seems to me "our" post is one of the most liked ones, if not the most at all..:GSCARF:

I won't go into in too much detail again as I've no doubt bored enough people to tears already, but I don't think it's just muscle memory; trying to use finesse dribble and skills is awkward as hell because they both use R2 & right stick in different situations rather than being dedicated to one of the other like 2019.

You know how you hold R2 to do a finesse touch? Imagine if you didn't have to, and instead, if you held the right stick in a direction before you received the ball you'd do it automatically, then to make things better, you could just keep hold of it and you'll seamlessly go into finesse dribble.

You could then dedicate R2 purely to skills. Simple (you could also switch them around so it's essentially 2019, but either way, I wish they'd done one or another as the controls is the only thing that's annoying me about the demo).

I mentioned it in my feedback tweet but I can't see it being changed. I feel like they've been rebranding the R2 controls for years and this seems the most pointless. I asked this earlier but think it was missed - is there actually anything new about this feature other than it being on the right stick? They seem to have made quite the fuss but it seems no different to me.

hopefully it won't be long until someone makes a decent OF for PS4 right?
im guessing a month max wait from release until i can start a ML save with proper uniforms and such.

Geez, im excited and doing background checks on Serie B ( both italy / brasil), ligue 2 and the championship as to find out which will be my ML starting team this coming season.

any suggestions?

Red Star kits for next season are looking really sick, although im not sure about starting in L2..

Great to see you guys liking this, i didnt mind 19 and 18, but this man this gave me the feels. Not had such fun since Winning Eleven 10 . I dont feel as old playing this.

Man Konami need to keep to this vision, they know football better than EA would ever be able (or want to sadly). Here is hoping the full game maintains the quality or improves upon it.

If so happy days incoming for this great community. Love u all keep the positivity

Can only go by own experiences, but I’d say a bit of new and a bit old mashed together.

When you flick it you can do very sharp movements you cannot do with the left stick, but if you hold it, after a while your player will face the goal and it works the same as R2 did last year.

I personally get much more use out of the finesse touch. Using someone like Pogba it’s great when you use it to get him immediately into a good position, and he then has the power to just drive straight through the midfield. Nice to use it in the box too and immediately shoot afterwards.

I assumed finesse dribbling was to be used in tight spaces, but funnily enough thats where I just can’t seem to get any use out of it. It’s great to move around but making sure your player is always facing the right direction when he passes, basically using it the same as R2 last year, but helping to get round players in the box? I just can’t work out how to use it effectively in that situation.

Out on the wing is where I think finesse dribbling really fails. I just get annoyed. Im so used to holding R2, making my player go sideways, while using the right stick to do little dummies and wait till the right opportunity to do a little skill. I can’t do that now without having to constantly let go of finesse dribble, flick right stick to step over, then holding it again for the skilled dribble.

I know!

For the first time since the PS2 days, I feel like PES is finally standing on its own two feet. Standing tall.

Thanks OBH, I perhaps need to give it a bit more practice to see what it's capable of. I find a bit confusing though because sometimes it will do one of the 'step on skills' and other times it will enter into the ol' R2 'jinking run' animation. The control choice for it feels a bit messy and ill-conceived but anyway, I'll stop moaning about it now. (At least until I've given it a really good go!)

Played a few games last night and enjoyed it again :) I checked the camera I was on and it's a modified pitch side, to Zoom 8, Height 4 and Angle 10. Looks similar to how I setup the dynamic camera angle on FIFA.

I rely on the radar to spot free players and switch the ball across field. Speaking of which, using the manual modifier to hit long diagonals is great.

Another brilliant thing is how well the player shields the ball if you let go of the stick when you're in a 1 v 1.

I also noticed that if you're in replay mode and press the correct button (shoot button I think?) the replay plays through at the normal speed. In the past, it was always at a slower speed? Maybe they fixed it last year as PES 2018 was my last full game.

Man... us, PES fans, can never be all the way happy, can we?.
I'm loving this game SO much. The only other football game that made me feel this way in my adulthood was FIFA 16 (and I still play AND MOD that one to this day, so you can imagine what that game means to me).
And yet... as I'm playing PES 2020, I can't help but feel frightened about what they might do to it in Japan (I know there are others like me. You feel my pain). Perhaps, to please the MyClub fanbase. Or maybe even because they feel they need to iron this or that out, or simple tweaks that might wreck the whole experience. The whole experience or a portion of it. I don't want them to change anything at this point.

I don't know who was asking for a video with long shots by the AI, think it was Chris.
Here are two, from the same match. And there was another one I didn't record.

In the second one, Coman totally toys with me, dribbles 2 of my men and then shoots.

I just have this feeling...it’s been the same way for 5 years the demo or early code being better than the final game...I just know deep within the sperm located in my loins that they will fuck it up

Is it me or the pitch looks radioactive?! it’s honestly so bright, my eyes hurt, sometimes I can’t bring myself to play because of it. It’s so annoying, I don’t think I’m gonna buy it, if it’s just like that in the final game. I tried to change the settings, the game just looks worst going with lower brightness, the textures of the pitch just gets worse, I see horrible dots and the lighting is all over the place, and i can’t find a middle ground for it. I tied my tv settings, I still can’t find the right one for it, they need to fix it, I have seen some people feedback it on twitter, but it’s not as requested, the guys playing it on PC it looks much different graphically in a good way. I feel like they are gonna neglect this, and I will just not buy it, if they don’t fix it. I just can’t sit through it no matter how good the gameplay is. I can’t believe a game on the biggest gaming console has the worst graphics of all, I have seen better with the older versions. So it’s no excuse.

Really enjoying online in the demo, you can have some glorious games. Alas it looks like pa3 is still too assisted and allowing for ping ponging annoyingly. They need to tone that down or else everyone will be using it again with barely any consequence like 2019. If people can one touch up the field and spam it then what the hell is the point of having error in all the other areas of the game.
yes i played yesterday vs people with pa3, it was one touch passing all along, not realistic and not fun at all..

he needs to have a physicality higher number in his stats, he s very fragile in the game
