Source required. I think all evidence points in the other direction. Konami – years ago – spoke about moving to mobile games for revenue generation in the future, and they killed off all their valuable console IP. They renamed the game two editions ago, in anticipation likely of a full branding change (i.e. to tally with a new kind of product/service). They know that they can make a lot of money from MTX sales on mobile, and they know that they can deliver that sort of game without half as much development cost by axing the console series entirely. This game was not two years in development. You saw the teaser they made last year, they were going to make a next gen game. Somewhere in that progress, they decided there was an easier way to make money, and here we are.
Thought you were the other Daniel for a second!I kind of like it to be honest. Animations, dribbling and ball phisics looks better than any football game I ever see. I would definitely play this if it had an offline mode.
They will be; they were in the NFGOPT.I think these circles will have an option to be turned off (better be) , it is similar to FIFA training controls that you can turn off as well.
Precisely! Spot on.You don't get it ! Cross platform is the only reason that we STILL have game on console !
Exactly this. It amazes me people think that teaser ever meant something. They only created the Messi model and the grass specifically for that short teaser. Sort of a placeholder to appease the crowd just when they were about to let us down with the Season Update (or shortly after that). They needed something for people to look forward to.
It's not like they extracted all of that from an ongoing game under development for the teaser. It was the other way around. They created all of that just for that teaser.
That's what I think at least. It's what common sense tells me.

I agree that the original teaser was just that, and nothing more. However, I think Konami did plan to make a next gen at the time, it probably would not have look like that but they wouldn't have been the first developers to downgrade something from an initial teaser. However, at some point the project just became too big in their eyes, and someone says (and yes I am reaaaally guessing now) "Damn, if only we could make this as easily as the mobile game, that thing is making us the real yen here" and in that moment, a lightbulb goes up over everyone's head. Ditch the real next gen project, base the whole thing on the mobile version, make some half-decent intro sequences and cut-scenes so they can act like it was next gen all along, have Adam and co drum up some spiel about waiting to play before judging, and if people are unhappy, so what, we are getting our money.
The reason why I think this is that this game LOOKS LIKE ASS. And not playboy model ass, but plumber ass. I played the "New Football Game" beta and it was absolutely HIDEOUS. Then there is the myriad of other sub-par things we have all seen in gameplay videos, things cut, simplified controls, skating all over the place, if it took them two years to port their (already existing) mobile game to consoles, they must have some seriously short work days. I just can't buy it.
I would like to add that I am not trying to defend Konami here. I don't think this is any less shitty than if they never intended to do anything but a mobile port to begin with.
At this point, would you trust Konami to target the correct family? They'll probably punch a random McDonald's employee and tell him to get the word out. This will get 3/10 rating on IGN PS5 review ... unless KONAMI threatens family of guy reviewing it. I dont think they can even bribe reviewer.
what this is showing you is that there is 3d grass, it's just not turned on here. The modern day football game where ball and feet hover View attachment 119435
It's because they didn't worked on Ambient Occlusion I guess. If it's there or even an option, we can enable it (not sure about that in consoles) and this problem could be solved. The modern day football game where ball and feet hover View attachment 119435
I noticed in most of celebrations, the player's got their good weight. Also on replay.View attachment 119503
They still haven't fixed the issue where all player's heights are the same in cutscenes.
How long has this problem been in the game for?. We all thought this was caused by the FOX Engine. I guess not...

Just off the first two gameplay videos I've seen of eFootball and FIFA 22, eFootball looks more current/next gen than FIFA. Was pleasantly surprised by how eFootball looks.
I can't comment on gameplay because I need to actually play it. Everyone has different styles of playing so would be foolish to judge gameplay based on a video.
I see the majority on here want to see eFootball fail and gleefully picking out negatives rather than looking for any positives. I get people are pissed off because of the name change, but it's free to play now, updates will come and we need to give the game a chance. The nitpicking over footage of a game that has been explicitly been described as a demo at launch is embarrassing. Why would anyone who genuinely loves this football series want it to fail because it's actually evolving like its previous name said it would.
There's going to be a transitional period, so let's help with the development of eFootball rather than kill it off before it's even had a chance to breathe.

Seen footage.
Not quite as bad as I expected. I love the movement and animations which make it look like a new engine. There so much potential here, this was the big flaw of the fox engine they have really come out good for this new unreal platform engine which enhances what was from the Fox Engine code.
