No, not the worst case, as PES 2021 looks far better than the BETA, with better physics etc.
To me it should be the "acceptable" case.
For sure it will play differently. But not better especially, look at the Beta, worste than PES 2015 and very close to the gameplay from PES 2021 Mobile enhanced. Even if it's "only a Beta" it's clearly a reproduced Mobile based, with PS4 graphics. My hope was "it's just a test to see how cross-plateform work, we will play on Mobile against PS4 players", but next-gen version would be different in all aspect
-Worst case (and the most probable) is Mobile version with all the restrictions we knows (impossible to put 2021 PS4 on Mobile) on PS5, with better graphics than PES from any PS4 version. Only some animations transitions in more, that's all, like a "trick" to make the games looking better.
And it seems that it's pretty probable, from what you've said about Konami's having hard with animations, then it's what i expect to be presented now.
-Better case : a better version on next-gen with more animations and physics related to it, not already offering a full next-gen experience (first PS4 games didn't, first PS3 neither etc. it's always transitionnal), but at least with some stuffs who were not doable on PS4, which includes more ball physics algorithms, contacts, motions physics and animations, but overally it should be the same way to play for cross-plateform (shit) stuff. That's all, nothing more or less, i was waiting about.
Now about editing, i'm sure of one thing i didn't know before buying it : PS5 got LESS storage than PS4 Pro. Unbelievable. So we will be fighting for slots again, don't know if Fox limitated those stuffs etc. but it's an issue for editor. We all want HQ kits. Also, i would like them to get rid of managers : it's a loss of time, and driving crazy to check every week changes, tooking images, and the thing is except Myclub : it's changing nothing even on ML. Fifa gots tons of features, but only added some managers superficially. And it's not FM.
If they decided for their new MyClub to leave people doing their own tactical system, they will remove managers for sure. As it serves only for that. I hope, if the game is playable, that it will be the case.
Now, When/If the games becames good with all updates, or changes only on some console not impossible on the long terms : it's practically an obligation to think about what it will be in 3 years so they will got to improve areas only for NG version. Otherwhise they're completely dead, it's not the case already as not a lot of people own a PS5 but in the future... Games will improve and it will looks super old in comparison.
So at a moment if they want to survive : they got to make a separation / 2 games in one. If they don't, the solution very Konim-esque is to completely unfocus on NG version and leave the application dying in the abyss of the store/marketplace.
Edit: i think too that Fox was, only in graphical and technical terms, a better engine. But i think that it's not only for cross, but for the sake of having easy to add, remove, changes stuffs. FOX O.S. is the worst in the market, you can't change anything without calling Kojima or perhaps Elon Musk. Well it's under 4.2 i think, a bit better than 4.0.
