With all due respect to people who like pes2020 (i liked it when it was the latest version of Pes back in 2019), there is no doubt that 2021 was a big improvement over 2020 (without being a totally different game). For me pes2021 season update was what pes2020 should have been with particular improvements with shooting, passing, error and ai attaching variety. Im probably one of the few here that wished pes2022 simply reworked on pes21 season update, improving the important things such as error and shooting variety, increasing player positioning (particularly in midfield and defense) - whilst continuing to improve the number of animations and variety of animations. Animations, the way players run and move, including player models are kick ass for me - something pes20-21 has done so much better than Fifa. If pes2022 simply worked on building from pes2021 + more variety of animations + improved next gen graphics, id be ecstatic. Thats the only thing that bums me out about the new engine. Great that it will make things easier long term, but as it appears, it also means a total rebuild. But to be honest, i dont really believe that Konami have totally rebuilt this game.. they'd be mad not to use some of the great work they implemented into pes19-21etc. Back to the original question - without doubt pes2021 is a huge improvement over pes2020.. and the pc mods (patches and gameplay) have allowed further improvments (shout out to Holland for kicking some major gameplay ass!!)
