The voices from beyond the shisha smoke say.... MAYBE!

Yea, this must be the truth! :D

You make a good point but I disagree with F2P not being a problem. Konami have done this so everyone migrates to myClub and is forced to play online. They want us to download the game ASAP as it won’t cost us a dime and then get hooked on that disgusting fantasy game mode where kids enjoy having a front 3 of Maradona, Neymar and Usain Bolt - all bought using dad’s credit card.

And then they ALL use Klopp’s 433 system completely bypassing the midfield. It’s turgid rubbish.

Also, PES has been awful online since I can remember. Their cheap ass server always takes an age to find a player and when you do, it’s usually laggy - and the game is already too heavy and awkward anyway, so adding lag to an already sluggish game where the players turn like tanks is frustrating to say the least.

We are being forced to play it online - unless you are happy playing exhibition games until Master League arrives in 2022.

I am convinced you won't be able to get super star players this easily any more. One thing Konami is really good at is monetization. If they hand out the best players such easily like in current MyClub - there won't be a lot of coin sales after 1 year of service because everyone already has 100+ rated players. Since there will no longer be a reset, the progress to get better players must be a lot steeper - even for coin buyers. Or they will introduce seasons and you lose all players every year - but I don't think this will go well with the player base.

Well if you want to save a load of waffle and just read the most telling bit as to why it’s dead as a lead next gen game…I’ve captured it for you

This website should be banned from posting articles: https://www.operationsports.com/konami-hints-at-what-the-lead-platform-will-be-for-efootball/amp/

They literally took a shitty automatic internet translation posted a few days ago, and then had the audacity to "quote" parts from this bot translation as actual being said like this.

The audacity to post anything to hype up this shitty site with missleading/false quotes. What a shitter!

He even used some miss-translations:

When asked about what device was/will eFootball be tailored for when playing offline, the Konami producer offers a somewhat troubling answer:

“That’s exactly the part I’m worried about, but I think I’ll definitely choose a device that will have more participants.”

Now this is the correct translation:

Mar-San: You can play online on a variety of devices, but which devices will be the main focus of the offline tournaments?
Kimura: That's exactly what we're struggling with, but I think we'll inevitably choose the device with the most participants.

Some people just have to make stuff up to rile more people up. It's just about tournaments - not offline gameplay.

I'm hoping it works well with Illusory Software just like the game Session. Or other tools the wizards here will no doubt create. That way my time spent learning Unreal Engine 4 and 5 can be used to contribute to this community too. Right now other than Blender there's not much else that I know lol.

Your forgetting "Veterans" have seen more change than most. Don't play divide and rule around here.

When You have played the F2P game, you will realise its shallow gameplay depth but great depth of spinning the wheel.

The sooner loot boxes are fucked off for good the better. Its enticement for Younger generation, nothing else.

Its spoiling a lot of gaming in general.

As a 24 year old(probably younger than a lot here), I grew up on games that didn't have loot boxes, and fake money you pay for. I think it's disgusting kids grow up playing trashy games that just are designed to get as much money as possible out of you. I hate the way gaming is going.

Who do you propose bans Operation Sports from posting articles on the internet? The internet police?

Your outrage is a little over-the-top, anyway...

You mean (shock horror!) they used Google Translate or DeepL to interpret a language they don't speak natively?! How awful! I wouldn't dream of doing that. (For the record: this is sarcasm. It is not awful. It's sensible, on the whole.)
He even used some miss-translations:
You didn't show a mistranslation, though. You showed that they introduced a quote without paraphrasing it quite right – not a translation issue.

You're right that Operation Sports seem to have misunderstood that bit though. The question and answer seems to be about the esports tournaments/competitions, and specifically the ones hosted in real locations. So in that context, the question is whether Konami will have mobile as well as console players at their official esports tournaments. And Kimura's answer is that he doesn't know yet, but maybe mobile with controller will be allowed.

I agree it's hard to take from that what OS did take from it. That's just a misunderstanding though, not some sort of malevolent journalism, as you are implying.

Again, that's really not a fair interpretation of Operation Sports and how they normally write, what they're normally interested in as a community, etc. It is a misunderstanding – and it's good to point that out – but it's not because OS are trolls looking to anger the offline community.

Nah, should be written in stone boulders, and hung over every desk in their offices, with each and every tether ready to be cut at a moments notice if ignored.
Hung in every office in every business…….the amount of changing stuff for the sake of it, by people attempting to make a new impression is often the best way to travel backwards……25 years in the finance sector has shown me that a new way of working, a new approach, a new strategy, a new mind set, is often the path to no progress at the expense of everyone else apart from the bell ends making the so called judgements to “new” everything!

So thats the "early autumn" news update i guess.

Hopefully something related to next gen is released then.

On the other hand, Guys, imagine Konami desperately negotiating with PSG to include them in the 9 or probably 10 teams available in the demo.

Geez

Well, to be fair most of the people who play online use the same 5 or 6 teams.

I played divisions a lot in pes 2020 and i played against Juve, Barca, Bayern, Liverpool & PSG +95% of the time.
There was a seldom oddball who would pick something else, usually they were the ones who played better (as in, less robotically).

Me, i played with Zenit, Roma, Serbia, Atalanta etc

My point is that people will never get bored of playing with those same teams.

specially if they can add a Lvl 99 prime birthday moment Rummenige & Maradona

People will get bored of this really quick and then buy fifa.
Guaranteed - I know I will and I’ve hated FIFA since 16.

Or people will stick with PES 2021 on PC seeing as the modding community do such a fantastic job with it.

I can’t see many here playing eFootball after a few weeks of it being released. Of course I’m only speculating here but I gather most people at Evo-Web play football games in the single player modes, i.e. Master League, Career Mode etc.

And the people who only play myClub will surely prefer FUT which is a million times better than the opposition these days? From the little of it I’ve played, myClub is trash. FUT is far deeper and better supported. If FIFA ever does go FTP, and I think it will and that we will get a separate single player package* - it’s over for eFootball.

* This is my dream. A fantasy really. But I do think we will see two FIFA packages at some point. I’m basing this on no evidence whatsoever btw

I think most of us will download it on our preferred platforms and keep it there until Master League and Edit Mode DLCs are out - Which will probably happen by the time a PES 2023 should have been released. And then if it's these are as shallow as always and the gameplay is still as basic as we expect, then delete the game until they start making some real progress, if that ever happens.

I wish I could be confident that this years game would deliver a much improved ai system at launch that would make gamers more excited for the eventual offline DLC. Unfortunately the gradual decline of the ai over the past few years for modes like ML has given me genuine cause for concern.

for Pes 2022 i would be fine when we get little improved graphics and overall gameplay improvement. Even when it only get an update of pes 2021 with all "bugs" fixed i am fine with it.
