eFootball (All Platforms)

I just come here every few weeks to check if there has been any progress and every time it just seems even shittier somehow.

100% sure Konami are just taking the piss and laughing at everyone at this point.

The "celebration" video and getting even more player cards are the highlights of these last weeks' update for me.

Thought about this last week. For Coinami to truly feel our dissatisfaction with efootball, and possibly get their shit in order, huge swaths of the player base would have to boycott this game. From the Americas to the farthest regions in Asia and Africa. Content creators on youtube and twitch would have to discipline themselves and not put out Efootball content. I wish it would happen, but it won't. Some like the clout and influence that comes from being Coinami's lapdog, and some just have an extremely high tolerance for shit games, which there isn't much you can do about that. Next Friday will mark one year since this shit stain was release to the public. It's the same fucking game minus online league and boring events.

No modes.
No content.
No weather effects.
No anti-cheat.
No next-gen.
No day games.
No advanced tactical options.
No advanced AI.
No resolution options.

It's funny when someone like Spoony Pizzas releases a 2 minute video just days ago, echoing some of the sentiments that many of us have expressed on this forum, but no one brands him negative. Weirdly enough, dude is still playing efootball, despite expressing his own dissatisfaction with the game. I guess that's the luxury that comes with being part of the PES/Efootball content creator bubble.

While in Asia people spend more on slots than their children.
Now spend it in the world of video games and you will see the same
That's why konami no longer cares about quality as long as those from Asia (which is their preferred area) continue to spend on packs and coins.
See what the medium has become in Asia
In pure casinos

I think that's quite a reductive take. You don't have to look to Asia to see the large spend on MTX and lootboxes – North America and Europe are already huge markets for that. It doesn't matter where you are in the world really, gambling is always a temptation and it's disgusting that it's so effectively infiltrated the gaming industry, normally to the detriment of overall product quality.

The issue with Konami has always been communication, im old and played pes since PES 1, ever since we have an online presence there comms have been shocking with the community and they still are,

Never mind the game i think it plays ok to be fair now, but the a year on and still 0 content and literally no comms at all to state even a window for ML or any other offline/online modes is absolutely unbelievable,

I mean you can almost forgive them releasing last year new engine the promise of development but were a year on and its the same game,

what is the time going into i suspect there's one dev team responsible for all platforms including mobile and they have 0 time to make content,

i remember a few years back we got the likes of Adam Bhatti and then working in Konami to be a community voice where is all this now why is there nothing at all from Konami but vauge patch notes nobody cares about.

At this point when ML is released likely as paid DLC do you have any faith it will even be any good, all i antipate is a re skinned pes 21 ML or brand new one that so bare bones it will leave every going you spent 2.5 years making this?

Is Pes/efootball dead as a single player game? i think its 90% of its way there

Holy ShEt ... 2.2.0? is unplayable garbage for so many reasons! They screw up the ball control, first touches and dribbling, the players feel way heavier and unresponsive, AI defenders are cheating as hell, they have zero recovery time, always react faster that attackers The animations are worst too, there a lot glitching, parasite movements or skipping frames that make players look choppy and robotic. They make one step forward and two back... Now the game reminds me to the worst version of PES 2021.

This is the game I fell in love with...

Same here this was the best version without all the automated crap, you can’t even attack on the counter due to being caught up too easily and spilt the defence open with a good through ball because all the other player has to do is hold down L2 and it’s intercepted straight away, no skill required, it needs removing.

I understand where you're coming from. Its not easy to dribble and counter attack (but they are still possible to execute). The defending can be automated in 2.0.0. But i'm afraid that if they remove all the support the A.I will become more brain dead which can lead to 1v1 mess. There has to be a happy medium between attack and defend.

Also you might want to try quick counter playstyle. It might help i think

0.9 favors heavily towards attacking side. You can find tons of crazy dribbling compilations on youtube.
While 2.0 favors more towards defensive side and i have yet to find any dribbling compilations.
1.0 is in the middle imo
I don't like the game but i prefers 2.0 philosophy.
Attacking is too easy on football game, and Def help is needed. Now how it's conceived with 1 vs 1 (a bit less know), i don't like it.
Aswell as i found PES 11 to 21 system, pressing and tackling adequate and /more important/ natural to play.

To me all is about the feeling and you lost it if the controls and features becames too complicated, i said "too". I don't like the shoulder push : it should have been automatic regarding the context while you press and tackling like before. Square button to 2nd press (R1 is wtf, they could use it for something else)

The basic pressing on PS3 version since 2011 and standing tackle was perfect, also the teamate pressure too much used resulted as fault, depending multiple factor (defense stats, reaction etc.) and they should've keept that system, but the fucking boss wanted 1vs1 system... But it goes on the trash now that you you can call a teamate help. That one reason 0.9.1 was so easy to attack.

Now if it became impossible to dribble someone, that's another deal and it's not better neither. Well just a "back to normal" and some offline mode and i could like the game... But first, needs to correct some invisible bug/overpowered stuffs.
I saw some ameliorations at each version personnaly, but it's far from be enough, the rythm is always the same. Again, i repeat myself, but it's due to the dumbed down ball physics tempo variation, i feel like "always the same", and shooting (the most important for feeling to me with dribbling) is dead, with what explained the others about force transmission from feet to ball.

Instead of technology and improvements going forward, it is going backwards with football games. A few years ago we couldn't wait for September to get to play the new game, and now I'm playing the older games because what we have now is just a mockery. Even the competitor is bad as it goes. I really don't see in the near future that we will have a proper football game to enjoy. But as long as FUT and Dream Team "players" are happy, this will continue to be the amazing trend.

How i imagine the future : people and football fans will got enough of those football jokes, or fashion etc.
And will try to get Football and others games which suffers from the same stuffs (F2P, no content) some kind of "Enough. Back to the classic"
But not before years. Every good stuffs got a golden age and bad period, then a revolution from people;
here, devs with a real hearth and not a wallet instead, and all passionate about football who wants the "real things" back.

Or 2nd option, the bad scenario : it will simply be forgotten and die, VG will die too by auto-destruction replaced by "video casino games" which in gameplay doesn't matter at all (EF at least try so we're no here already, and there's others games : it's for them that i fear the worst). So playing will be even dumber than ever, stop the run about the power and evolutions game : it's too demanding. Fortunately we still got many devs who made tons of superb series, but it's all action-adventure-rpg, and even in VS game MK didn't ceided to F2P like Dead or Alive and SFV (a desguised F2P game... So uncomplete in Standard edition, cost 200 euros for having all on it)

Didn't saw that post it appeared hours after i posted : yes you're right on the big line, but engine is very important.
A game need of course good core engine (Fox is very good but complicated to program) but based on Football.

Looks at Fifa current state. Isn't supposed to be a "more powerful" engine than FIFA 14? I brought the PS4 version, it's running on the older core engine for physics with Ignite for animations transitions. And it's MILES ahead in terms of logic and footballistic philosophy for gaming than all the others which followed.
Miles ahead in natural. Because they have choosen to build the game as it is : the core engine is doing some job, but if you don't respect it, you will got bugs and issues.

It also works for gaming in general. Some games are technically very basic but artistically above all (Bloodborne as an example).
I see an engine for physics or animations and development like a pilot and a car.
If a random good pilot take a the best F1 model, and Max Verstappen or Hamilton take the worst one, the random averagely good will be late from 15 laps against Verstappen (i like him lol that's why i place Max, but not his team at all). Well gaming is not a run but it's just an image.

Now back on earth, an engine should be calibrated for the supposed game on every area, not the most powerful ever for every game : like an engine ONLY for football, evolutive and made for sequels and a 5-8 years duration maximum.

I'm also playing old game FTM and don't care at all about the new ones. But sometimes, i fucking want something new and a bit Next-gen.

But i agree and i'm "mmmhh, no" in the same time : i think to have everything doable on football, you need tons of algorithms and like you said a good dev to handle it. The most algorithms you will got, the most possible variation you will got in game. Now, i'm against "automatic animations" like Hypermotion is a big no : that's not the engine to handle it : it's the artistic part that should play, in part with the physical engine/linked to animations engine for less repetitiveness. But that's already the case in PES 2021 and Efootball... Animations aren't the problem.

The new ball physics is dumbed down and you can see the results : it's bad. And if there's something that shouldn't even be programmed but created as an entity (so ONLY the engine or the way it's programmed should matter for that part : the rest will follow) : it's the ball, center of everything, god of the pitch.

.... Well i talk as it should have been. But the evolution stopped as they found a new money-trap. I hope one day or them or another company will took the challenge as Foot Games are super hard to produce, and create what a Next-Gen football games should be.
But a football engine doesn't need to be super powerful like i said, just focused on importance. The rest is a philosophical approach about 90 minutes in 10-15 (hope 15) minutes to make it "action football". Not "Sim". There's no such thing in football game and i don't want to.

We need action, but also moment of decision to found an opening (well, it's still action but passive), everything to keep focused from the first to the last second like on PS2 era.

x1000 hope this happens. :TU:I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but hopefully there will be a "back to the classic" football movement (full of heart like you mention!) against F2P and no content, and we'll get back proper offline footballing classic experience.

Yes. It's the same in everything : remake game and movies (also HD/4K remaster), fashion, hairstyle, new sports cars too (based on older models) etc.

The biggest question is "how much we will wait?", i wouldn't say 1000% sure like you, it can disappear too. And we get all older... Don't want it to arrive when i will blow my 60th candles haha. It looks like the start of a new gen of gaming more than the end :(

Music also but it's difficult with streaming and sold... Since Emule lol, and more when the physical copy disappeared... But for it, it's kinda dead as the industry totally changed and everything since years got electronic vibes and rarely "instruments" but synthetics, and you have to make big research to found something authentic made by unknown group. Well i rarely listen more than 2 time music, but i listen OST from anime based on manga haha, japanese are kings of OST. But well, i must admit, music was more when i was youth. I'm far less interested by it now. Movies, and now Series since 2005 are a standard for all my life, same as gaming as i grown with : it's the same "art" for me.

I hope it won't be the same for gaming. But i don't think so. Golden era is forgotten during some years of "novelties", then people always came back to the roots.
They're now focusing on youth who grow with mobile as a standard for gaming, not console, that's why all the F2P and all. But i think youth will needs something different or what's the point to buy a console or playing on PC?

I have finally figured out how to dribble since the last update. It's even better now once you know how it's done. More fluid, faster and you can dribble like Messi in real life! After figuring this out, I think I actually like this version more than v1.0 now (I thought dribbling is dead in this new version and v1.0 was the best until now)

Konami fails big time not showing tutorials and videos when they change such crucial things.

One year later, and we still don't have the option to send a teammate to run into open spaces on the pitch like in past games. This is football 101, and it's not even available in the game.

I guess I might have said I'm planning to do a FIFA23 vs eFootball realism review. Uh yeah that's not going to happen. After watching several FIFA23 videos, I've refunded my preorder on Steam and I'm $75 richer now. Crap dribbling, turning, physics, everything. The only reason I was considering it was because it was next-gen on PC, but even that doesn't make it worthwhile.

Yeah, maybe that is the worst part of all! Old PES games, you can play them even now, any of old games, but with this live service, since one version gone. it's gone for ever and you will never play it again. v1.1.2 was one of the best, but now it's gone and the game plays, feels and looks like a $#T .
