eFootball (All Platforms)

Speaking about the online dream team experience, I've encountered lots of users with their teams including their benches armed full of legends combined with the best 5 star players in them. In comparison mine feels like a team of homeless, and I did all those logins and got those extra veteran bonuses from PES 2021, coz Konami are nice and generous. Did I miss something? I mean I know the "coins shop button" is there and active now, but jeez I wasn't thinking that people are getting so fast invested and emotional to smash it and upgrade in just few clicks their teams with la crème de la crème...

The authentic dream team derby experience in defense is all about who can get faster the ball by sprinting and pressing at the same time the tackling button, and after that who can spam the pass assist button faster to score the same top corner banger and get some more rewards as virtual currency. The outcome is simple, the looser will invest in more crypto for a more pleasant and better virtual competitive chance (advantage in frames and faster during the match).

The question is, next year will get a brand new eFootball 2023, with lesser content and even more cards? You bet it !!! :TU:

In div3 now, and I'm wondering what's the point of this game when FIFA is there for a quick arcade footy fix. Just had a 6-6 game with every shot being a goal on both sides. At least before, pes fans could've been smug about their game being the realistic one, but now it's not even that. Anyway at least dribbling is fun.

Nothing realistic in slamming into opposing players without fouls, 90min sprinting, ping pong passes trough the middle and every player being Busquets interceptions wise

Well i wonder if you played FIFA at all. FIFA22 is NOTHING like this game. :D

Some differences from the top of my head:
- Dribbling
- Stats matter
- AI plays off the ball
- Defence and attack are balanced
- Controlled shooting is not broken
- You can develop your players
- Tactics work actually
- There are fouls

As for you results my highest scoreline was 3-3 i guess....many matches end with 1-1, 1-0. Or sometimes one beat the other 3 or 4-0.
The 6-6 results imply not a whole lot of defending was put into that match :D Only run and gun which is a tool if you have the starting eleven for that. Which hey if you are a Fifa player, you might enjoy, so thats a good thing right?

I had a lot of low scoring games at the start, which was encouraging. Now a shot on target is more often than not a goal, and I put that down to buying one of the strikers in the Players of the Week thing (as has everyone else).

It's nice that attributes matter (I value that) but at this point, I think it's fair to say the engine has the depth of a mobile game (which it is) and that your input doesn't matter anywhere near as much as the player you're using (which suits the pay-to-win format). It's no wonder manual players are finding the game is broken for them when you consider the assists needed for mobile play.

Not worth comparing to the other game, which had promise at launch, but now has nothing of actual football left in it other than the licenses.

To be honest, dribling and movement in this game is another level compared to FIFA 22.

Just give me me offline, goal nets, and make shots less powerful and take my money please. (Goalkeepers being human, and not super-human would be huge plus also)

One thing really annoys me. Sometimes pass assist level 3 doesnt lock on the player even your aim is ok and its a ball to nowhere. Ok 50% could by my input is off but i saw cases when it felt off even if the input felt right.

Getting my oar in before we get told off and instructed to get back on topic...

The online-centric ethea of the two games are comparable, but on the pitch is vastly different. The way the players move in eFootball would make an ardent FUT player throw their can of Monster across the room.

PES has always had high scoring matches. Especially if both opponents are flying at 100 mph. I don't play that way so my matches are never high scoring both sides.

It's not a new feature and I'm not near skilled/quick enough to use it but have you guys tried the pass through feint to get around the target locking issues? I think it's (release L stick + L1 + R stick in the direction the ball is travelling) right before trapping.

You think this is bad - play manual.

Tried it once 4-5 years ago...honestly passing something i could somewhat manage playing against Beginner difficulty or Regular but most of my shots were throw ins. So i made a difficult decision to give up there. I wouldnt even DARE to play manual vs assisted. So true to that there could be a filter for assist levels surely. Just Any/Similar like in Fifa at least.

But i did my best on that already, almost forgot it.

@janguv do you game on the PC or console?

I only meant that if you think target locking issues are bad when playing assisted, try turning them off. It happens literally every game, several times a game. Completely kills moves. So you pass to a nearby player and the auto select switches to the furthest away guy on the pitch. Despite your very minimal power input.

Frankly, it's shocking. It's BY FAR the worst for this in any PES I've ever played. Like, Konami ought to be ashamed of it. If more people played manual, this would be regarded as a faulty product.

Anyone else find it so frustrating that over the years each game from sensi, fm, pes and FIFA all have elements to make the most amazing experience if they would just share and work together! Example being that the AI when playing against CPU on efootball has so much going for it. But everything else about it is worse than pes. Does my head in that in 25 years of football games they never get it right

So after my nightmare with it last night, I played more today (I know: fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice...)

I decided against playing the events, since I just came up vs toxic (and laggy) opponent one after the other. Tried out divisions.

First attempt: get to kick off, it freezes, boots the game, shows "unforeseen circumstances" error, then tells me it was my fault and I lost. (Note: never lost connection the entire time; it's plugged in by Ethernet cable and PSN stayed live.) Clearly a bunch of bollocks!

Then played about 6 or so games, can't remember exactly. One of them was a toxic bumhole, passing it around at the back after going a goal up, celebrating for as long as he could, etc. I really think you have to lack all shame in doing that not only with a team of stacked legends but also doing it vs someone who is manual (while you are using probably default or above assist level). What would his mother think?

Anyway, outside of that, the games were decent connection wise and I won them. Up into Division 6. The main thing to note for me was just how bad some people are at this game  A few opponents just storming the pitch with the CB every chance they got.

As I go up the divisions, I presume it'll get sweatier and full of exploits though. Not looking forward to that. Will likely quit at that point.

Also, here is a passage of play. Look at this, and the myriad problems with it, and then tell me bEsT gAmEpLaY eVeR:

How is that anything other than a half-baked game?

I had a belter yesterday: a tombola player selection into the outstretched backheel touch. Double whammy of turd.

You can see this a lot watching streamers. They tend to use assisted player switching (which should not be the default, Konami!) and just rush the attacker with the ball. It gets even worse when both teams play Quick Counter and all the players are condensed to 33% of the pitch...

Had to laugh at the truth in bold

Agree its fine attributes matter and they really show nicely, Just brought and levelled up Soumare whos the perfect Anchor man for my style of play alongside legend Vieira. So much more effective than William Carvalho for me. The issue right now is that there's no way dream team will be anything resembling realism with the way we can level up players. Having a match here Beckenbauer was catching me as if he had the pace of Mbappe made me realize Dream Team whatever happens to the gameplay will evolve into some alien like football with ridiculously overpowered players if it isn't already with squads stronger than 2500+. I don't think I will find that fun, just winning for winning sake.

I miss offline so I'm just about back on PES 2021 but I'm a little shocked how the movement and dribbling evolution in efootball makes PES 2021 look a little dated already. All that 2 speed movement I mentioned heavily before now sticks out massively like a sore thumb![/b]

I know, had a few too many goals like this happen. The game needs work with the responsiveness, missed so many goals when I using semi assisted switching and it refuses to switch to the unmarked man in the box for a free header. Very frustrating. Along with two blatant fouls in that passage of play not given, yet the softest of fouls get given a penalty????

I've been experimenting with Roberto Carlos in midfield because he has perfect stats for a box to box MF. But Playing Style is REALLY important, so hes sat there doing nothing majority of the time because he has no relevant role. Think I'm gonna revert to Wirtz there. Also Anchor Man with Deep Line instruction basically gives you 3 at the back in attack which is really useful and adds that extra security that's needed with 4atb formations. I geniuenly think he's my most influental player (Kamara). Tried a few games without him and there was an obvious hole between my 2 CBs.

Curved shot is borderline OP and all my wingers has Curl/Finishing maxed out and it's unsavable. Robben would be proud of my Le Cut In Man tactic.

Also another thing i noticed and it's a really big problem is attacking AI from your teammates. Every time i cut in it's a 50/50 chance my teammate will block my shot. It really happens a lot and it's extremely frustrating. Like they lack code to move from player shots.

eFootball future is bright. I can see Konami improving on this solid base and create the best mobile simulation in the coming 1-3 years

*fixed
100% agree.
As for now im pretty dissapointed with this Game. Gameplay is ok, but the Content is horrible. The missing Mod support is also a No-Go.
Im note sure if eFootball will survive the next 3 Years on any Plattform besides Mobile.

Sad as it is, I reckon they'll capture enough whales in Dream Team for the console version to be profitable in the medium term.

I don't know if it is just me, but defenders and goalkeepers AI are pretty poor.
I've played entire matches with my opponent just spamming through balls and there was nothing much I could do, because every single time my defense was completely opening up letting his strikers free to rush towards my goal, in addition to that my goalkeeper is often just wandering across the area and god only knows what he is trying to do. In my opinion this is just all over the place. I don't know if this has to do with the tactics or something else, but it's pretty annoying
