eFootball (All Platforms)

I showed you a video. Up to you to actually watch it. Or you can continue to nitpick everytime there is an animation that doesn't quite fit every scenario. I guess you struggled to play the old games aswell because of that.
I watched your video and commented on it directly. Up to you to actually read that. I can't understand it for you though.

Two other people also pointed out the issues with your examples and how inapplicable it was to what I was showcasing in my example.

But you can keep up with the special pleading, moving the goalposts, etc.

They commented on the sliding. I've already mentioned that it's all animations. But that scenario is fine. If it happened everytime then yes it's an issue but it hasn't happened to me once and I doubt it's happened to many here so then it's a one off. The same as any freak Real life situation.

Look at the video the poster left on the last page where the ball hits the keepers head and goes in. If that happened one time a million in the game you'd be complaining that it means the game is broken.

So the problem isn't the scenario at all because it happens. The problem is efootball doesn't have enough animations to fully interpret everything that happens but the scenarios are perfectly normal. The animations for the old games were never perfect but it's the scenarios that recreate real life that is the point. For example for the longest time PES games had terrible crossing animations but you didn't get pissed off or say its broken everytime you made a cross. In that area efootball has made big strides there's way and more realistic ones but just there they haven't been able to add a better one. It isn't an issue it's just it needs more animations to represent the scenario it recreated which is a real scenario.
No, not at all. The problem is the narrative we build up here, and that i spent the afternoon, typing thousands of words and scratching my memory, searching for an identical video that i did not find never, except for a video of women?? football, which is still 50% similar, cause the slider/crosser, is a pass reciever from angle and not the dribller.

While i could just take an afternoon siesta, instead .... :(

As for the older PES games, and "nostalgia Googles" accusations.. At least in my edge i was clear. This animation is annoying, should not happen so often, but it doesn't happen only in eFootball. It happened in many older PES games, since the PS2 era, PES 6 for sure and some even older, can't recall tge version, and again in latter PES.

Also happened in the most recent PES, 2020 and 2021-more often.

But as i said 2 times already, it shouldn't happen so often and so precisely, cause it is UNREALISTIC... Neither in eFutsebol, nor in any PES.

End of story for me...

They commented on the sliding, so did I. That was the point of my original comment, which you just skipped past in showing your counter examples.

Incidentally, your (new) defence of animations being the issue is absurd. It is not the case that the game is valiantly trying to represent a realistic scenario but simply lacks the animations to pull it off. It is already representing a realistic scenario in having the slide cross/shot in the game in the first place. What happens here is that a game mechanic which is sometimes used in real football, in quite different scenarios, is leveraged to achieve something the game wants as an output in most scenarios: shots on goal (read their patch notes, they even talk about that). To do so, it utilises frankly crap ball physics, and gives player weight and positioning no significance. Likewise, the defender being under pressure, having no personal space to pull it off, the ball getting away from him at the touchline: none of this plays a part in the outcome because the design principles here are to prioritise shots on goal.

To not see this as bizarrely unrealistic and a failure of simulation is one thing; to see it as actually a purposeful attempt at realism, only compromised by too few animations, is head in the clouds stuff.

Look at the bobble and pace on the ball in she pulls off – nothing like a powerful clean ball hurtling towards the target.

Likewise with this goal, where he's in a much better position and has enough space to adapt as he falls to land the shot on target. He has to drive it into the ground and it's not the paciest shot:

So is complaining about a one off goal that is a freak situation. As I said you can spend the day watching real life football videos that don't make sense but they are one offs. Like the video you posted.

How does sharp kick work?I am playing on FUMA and it seems in Videos its R2 + shoot button but R2 is for controlled shoots
R1 is for controlled now. So R2 is indeed the trigger for it. But it's a bit glitched in terms of the power bar colour changing on manual. The animation wind-up is the tell instead.

For passing? I get the colour bar change for shooting, but not for passing and crossing. However, given the speed of the pass/cross and the time taken to hit it, I've assumed it's working.

I posted it purely as an example of the general bollocks in this game. Of which there's a Stunning amount.

You've become far more preoccupied with it than I have. I'd rather not have had to discount your claims that it happens "a bunch" in "top flight football", but you're the one who made those false claims. And then moved the goalposts when it became clear they were false.

I don't think what happens in the video is a "one off" sort of thing: the fact is that the ball goes on target at a good pace and trajectory despite the frankly crap position, the defender pressure, and the impossible angle. If that doesn't show you what the underlying design principles are as concerns the attacking philosophy of this game, then I don't know what will.

I'll point it out again: they even wrote in their patch notes about how they buffed the shooting to be more on target. You'll find plenty of other examples of BS shots that shouldn't hit the target doing so.

I'm in div1 now and got a div9 opponent. What a joke of matchmaking

We were trying to play a match like that with a friend for 25 minutes at least. Search is nearby between Div9 and Div4, never happened as he still got an opponent way quicker being in Div9 of course.

So Div9 and Div1 is a weird one. Were you searching for nearby location?

I don't know, i don't touch matchmaking options. Kinda gave up for now since in div1 i thought i would be getting only div1 players, but it's getting boring playing lower divisions constantly. I got to div1 underservedly too, since the number of div 2-3 players ive faced trough all games is around 5. Can i even get demoted?

Yeah for passing it just doesn't change colour at all (fine with that myself). For shooting it's bugged a bit. Seems to be more likely to change colour when in/around the box.

BTW congratulations for doing a stunning-sharp-kick-cross mate (animations for it available every 2 months) didn't any trophy appeared?

Joke aside, it's obvious after the first try that the game is at the same state as PES 2014 between the Beta and the Demo : It was playable. Just playable. Bugs still here and there, more than a released game should have.

That's all matter for them ATM i think : make it playable and "enjoyable", restoring the totally f****d basis.
Everything is "just correct" and "without taking too much risk" in case of having bug. Kinda like PES 2015 but less pronounced. PES 2015 was cool in terms of feeling, but it was a big f*** to 2014. Efootball 1.0.0 has kept most of the things, and completely changed the Defense system...

But just rectified a bit the ball physics, as it's probably the most game changing thing regarding physics, the hardest to program as it's linked with players physics and animations.

Now, it's how they will handle it, and i got hard to thrust them / even if the effort vs 9.1 is like a "revamp" from what i see, at least to me.

They have to fight with the engine too. But the focus to me is clear (AI included, like Klash said with Wing Back. One simple example of something very easy to program as it's just instructions + stats, is Wing-Back in 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 in motion)

Enjoyed the game again today. Decided to stay offline and boost my squad players playing the Spanish League offline Tour in legend. Legend is weird, its easier than Superstar because the AI are over to top aggressive but the cheating is evil as you expect. Cheese tackling to 300%, fouling, responsiveness failing you when you need to score, the lot. I just want the maximum points for every win or draw. I'm conviced they have worked much more on superstar and legend is only ready in pure video game challenge form.

I do have to say its incredible just how important player roles are and tactic style level. Pato is terrible but out of my three other strikers in El Nesryi, Vela & Mateta, but he suits how I play best im the number 9 role. Very promising to see this represented by the tactic levels each players have.

I got Deschamps and I want to properly dive into defensive and counter attacking this week, offline mostly, i really have no desire to play defensive online, i want to enjoy my football. Online in general on this game starts to throw bad habits in since I can't setup a 15 minute or something proper match. Everything is all just 10 minute quick casual games.

15 minutes is the minimum for any baseline of realsitic consistency. 10 minutes is just too short.

My vram is 8gb now...is that the problem??idk or maybe my graphic card is too old🤷‍♂️😁
8 GB is enough for this game, but maybe the VRam Chips are dying.
If you get more and more Texture Glitches and in other Games too than that could be the reason. Can happen with old Cards.
