eFootball (All Platforms)

Just went up against a tactical genius
Had a not so extreme opponent myself. Chicharito anchor man new meta. He lost 5-0. Anyway There's a decent barebones game somewhere in there. I've been playing for a bit, with only R.Carlos as my legend and 300k starting GP, and can hold myself pretty well in div4 atm. Legends are a problem, and there's an OBVIOUS boost to their abilities, especially with CFs inside the penalty box. You can pretty much see if he's gonna score or not, and 9/10 times he will, either with Forlan Romario or Inzaghi.

Despite that I'm having fun, ignoring the usual PES dumb moments which we're all used to for over a decade now. I'm just hoping they're gonna keep this player points progression system in ML, so i could mold them to my liking.

One other point, I'm ruthless when it comes to opponents being scumbags, i'm gonna pretty much go out of my way to be as assholish to them as possible, like running across the whole pitch when scoring and not skipping anything. The moment they start abusing kickoffs and stupid celebrations it's on. It's something of a therapy thing. It might be stupid but it's the best way you combat online gaming assholes. I always skip it and I'm not bothered if he genuinely wants to see the celebration, but you can just see when someones doing it on purpose.

PS curved shot still OP.

Really like this clip, and love some of the build-up play that leads to the goals (and the dribbling he's capable of doing, which I am absolutely not). Reminds me of why I keep trying the game again.

However, I'm also realising that the amount of goals going in per game is starting to climb fairly quickly, and the majority of shots on target are goals. Also, possession is always close to 50/50 in the games I've played and also in the games I've watched via Twitch etc., very rarely does a team dominate possession. I reckon that's due to the effectiveness of constant pressing.

Close to uninstalling it. The chief motivating factor is: it's an online-only game, and everyone online is a cunt.

I'd say 30% are c**ts

30% are just kids

and the rest are decent players who like us just want to sit down and chill.

If your half decent sadly you run into a lot of c**ts!

He's a legend. Knows the game inside out.

Shows even the best can go 3/4 goals down but legends never quit.

Also even f you as good as him you need a serious team to compete.

I'll be kind and say: a good number of the people on there play like cunts, rather than simply are outright cunts. A distinction without a difference when you're on there though.

I remember when I first joined a 1v1 league (ProEvoNetwork), prompted by the sweaty win-at-all-costs myClub crap. I'd had enough. And then in my friendly games before getting a league spot, a couple things were being pointed out to me by league members about what I was doing on-pitch – things I just hadn't considered as problematic before, because I had evolved how I played in the myClub environment.

I was never as twattish as these knobs who bumrush you when you're taking a goal kick, who go a goal up and pass along the back line, who do kick off glitch goals, etc. But still, it goes to show that you can pick up bad habits from that lot even if you consciously aim not to be a prick. So yes, there are plenty of people on there who aren't childish morons, but who nonetheless have picked up some rather annoying ways of playing and unreflectively keep doing it.

I query your percentage of kids playing though; almost all are playing FIFA if they're playing any football game.

Ok it was me who after going 2-0 up just passed the ball around.
Also did this other nasty thing.

Something I've felt playing since they unlocked MTX. I've had way more laggy games. I think lag punishes FUMA players a lot more than it used to. And also: the things about this game that we think of as improvements – increased dribbling responsiveness, sharp touches to go into space, better player weight and momentum, less on-rails feel – these things turn the game into an ungodly clusterfuck when you introduce lag into the mix.

Like, with PES in the last 5 or so years, there's often been ridiculous pile-ups and stuff like that. But this game takes it to a new level. Five players looking for a loose ball at their wits end as though it turned invisible (flashbacks to 0.9, no doubt). Delayed sharp touches taking the ball into danger zones for no reason. R1 pressing from the opponent turning the team into a field of swarming zombies, tripping up over your players and each other.

This game is turning into one of the worst online playing experiences I've had in a football game. It started off so promising as well.

And none of this is to mention the target-locking errors on FUMA, which themselves have me at the point of quitting.

Also did this other nasty thing.

  1. If you do do that sort of thing – faff around with the ball at the back exploiting the game mechanics that don't allow teams to properly recover the ball – have a word with yourself.
  2. The keeper AI there in that clip is horrendous. As it so often is in this game.

See I can associate with this. I used to very much enjoy rubbing it in, if I came across somebody being a scumbag and managed to get one over on them. But these days, I just think it's a really hollow victory. It just underscores how the whole enterprise lacks a sense of good sportsmanship. Leaves you wanting a shower.

I switched it off after coming up against some such scumbags earlier, put on Elden Ring instead. Almost instant relief, and a feeling that I wasn't playing a game designed to short-change me at every step either. Just makes me think: why bother with eFootball? Seriously, it's a vacuous mess.

That sentence is exactly what i said when i left online. I wasn't loosing, but just can have a normal experience on a 10 minutes match.
I, we could relate tons of example.
>Like you won 3-0 at the 20'.
And the guy start to make own goals after own goals, and as it's the one who scored that choose who push the button to pass the "cutscene" : so the guy let the cutscene from the start to the end at every goal. So you have to wait, and wait and wait.

Sometimes it works for them, the real winner quit the game as the other just want to play or got a work and don't have that much time to enjoy a bit the game per day. Etc.
That's the purpose of it.

Less worst scenario, doing sombrero and not playing anymore after loosing 3 or 4 to 0. And scoring own goal, doing funny things etc.
But there's no purpose, just that he lost and want to have fun in another way. Just don't want to quit, that's all. Personally i was doing like him and sometimes we got funny things. But it's not what i call playing and it's a lower cunt level but cunt as well to me.

Edit: so friendly online match with people you know or nothing.
I ain't against an Evo-web league or Cup if you do one and there's a DLC's with Friendlies, Divisions and others leagues mode.
But DreamTeam vs unknown guys, it's a no.

Finally had the time to spend a full day playing. No kick-off glitches, no exploits used, no strange formations: Just 4-3-3 and playing like IRL football with crosses, dribbling and passes. Whatever made the most sense. Compared to PES21 where you are forced to play a very certain way in defense (press + block pass ways) and a clear meta offense (ping pong through balls) to reach black badge, this is fresh air.

Now I will just spend my time creating a <24 year old youngsters team!

eFootball future is bright. I can see Konami improving on this solid base and create the best simulation in the coming 1-3 years.

Not talking about simulation as i hate the word for a footie game : but they need to cut the rope with Mobile fist.

Didn't followed if it wasn't already done, but just a PC/X and S/PS5 in the future would be good. Then PS4 if you select the "PS4" stuff, and the game would be "lowered" on everything if you encounter a PS4 player...

But i don't think it will happen. I imagine they will make a "cut" with Mobile, but i don't see a lower denominator than PS4 version.
Sad due to the pandemic, but big PC cards and Current (or next call it like you want) generation of console are far from being something that people own normallly, and it prolonged PS4 life. In South America they were playing PES PS2 until practically the end of the console, when we were playing Fifa and PES 2013 so...

We will get a PS4 core engine for a long time (or mostly forever) with Efootball. But in every case, except the presentation, i see a PS4 as the lowest denominator when i play it on PS5. I played some sports games on Mobile and it's P2.5 engine with PS3 +- graphisms. I don't see Efootball running on any Mobile which cost the price of a Laptop +...

@Mazen2020 i hope you're right, i see also a potential on it. I only hope the engine is easier to stretch than Fox regarding Ball physics. We got to wait for a long time before there was variation in shooting... But the shooting feeling, from FOX, even without variation is better. You feel the diff. between pushing the ball and kicking it.

And i don't see the animations for example of physics, except for the ball, lower than Fifa. UFL yes, it's seems clearly above all in term of "like a mobile game".

Pretty sure there are people out there like that, as obvious others say it too. Thankfully no such experience like that yet for me.

By the way i have made several changes:

1. Benched Puig and i use Gedson as a box to box. Guy is mental, literaly the player ID kicks in and he is covering the field automatically. I dont feel that he has such low abilities compared to my other midfielders as his style compensates.
2. Benched Adama and use Bojan on the right, he has quicker feet and does better runs, traps the ball better, passes better. Adama is a super sub now.
3. Now there is a place for Musiala on the left. I wasnt so sure about him after i signed him but he is tall, good with the ball and he is my only AMF that can actually score. And he fits as LWF too. He proved himself.
4. This is the next big thing along with Gedson. I dropped Umtiti and bought Jurriën Timber. Finally Zubeldia has another pacey, good with the ball pair. Amazing duo, and again Timber is not even so high rated yet....but he can be developed to lvl 37.

20220424041812_1.jpg

5. If needed this is my sub tactic with 5 at the back and with 2 on top subbing in Alvarez....who is quick as a flash, makes amazing runs into the holes.

20220424042651_1.jpg

Oh yes and i still got S. Roberto on the right, i dissliked him the most in the beginning, he was pretty much good at nothing but....it tournd out that he is the Garry Neville of this game.

Division 5 here.we.go

You got it the more you're up in Division and won... Not the case on lower divisions. They just quit and that's all. Well, i didn't carried that much about it when i encountered an opponent far too weak and he quitted ASAP to be honest lol

Edit: not related but i like your formations btw. I'm used to play with 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 (Milan 2007 style with one DMF, 2 CMF and 1 AMF)

Perhaps Rocket League hardened me, all this doesnt sound toxic to me by now :D
AAAAAND we dont even have text chat and voice chat ingame....

I know a big fish on Rocket league, i played with him on the same team through i wasn't "that" bad... No comment. I felt like i got 80 QI in less than him.
And felt like he would play better if i wasn't there.

That game is probably the best online game ever made in terms of possibilities.

Edit: i never watch tournament etc. but i looked on TV the semi final of an E-sport competition. It's another world.
I can found myself in MK or SF4 or 5, even FIFA or PES E-Sports matches, but not on that game. You seems way too far from their level.

All these bonuses are crazy. I really don't need them. No wonder everyone gets to special players so much sooner. What's the reward in that?

I decided to give myself a clause in which I cannot start purchasing new players until I'm at 50,000, and I cannot go under 50,000. Penalty of going over budget is releasing 1 standard player or two generated/default.

With those restrictions, I've also played on FUMA, Professional difficulty. Having a blast. The only thing I'm getting tired of is the same stadium and atmosphere, so it's not quite at back-to-back games yet.

There's something about the dribbling that's very reminiscent to me of the 8-way PS2 era movement. It's not 8-way movement of course but I think the extra player weight, momentum & deft touches left & right give it that old school feel I've longed for.

Jinking in & out of a tight situation with a good dribbler hasn't felt this good in a long long time. Stats really appear to be having a huge impact across the board which is also another reason I get those old school vibes from this game.

Now if only I could take this offline & play a master league....🤔

I wouldn't be opposed to an online only game if there were strict rules and consequences for players who break the rules. Some games have a system where if you do any funny shit during online play, you lose points, attributes, currency or something important to that matters to you in the game.

I play on ps4 standard and the game is terrible. The biggest problem, apart from stuttering, is that all the games seem to be played in slow motion. Delay too is terrible. 7 matches online just to try and all goals i get are because my players are not responsive. Opponent players 10 or more meters away are faster than my player doing a pass.
Played a game yesterday and scored 3 no fun goals first half. Second half i was a spectator cleaning balls from my area because my players couldn't move at all. It was like they had glue at their feet. Also second half it was impossible to make a tackle.
Once a week i give a try but this game is in a very bad state.

- Too easy to ping pong the ball through the midfield when using PA1-2 (the most assisted). You notice that so called "good" players use PA1
- No PA filters.
- No L2- manual modifier.
- You can't play day matches, change weather etc.

+ Dribbling feels rewarding, I don't know if it's placebo but using L1 + LS makes players like Insigne a real joy to handle.
+ Shooting is better than it has been in a long time.

I have played against you, and it was fun. You are a pretty nice player with a lot of variety in playstyle. Nice to see that people like you are able to get to Division 1 without any exploits used. Congratz

I've not even approached divisions yet, thinking I would clear the events first. Has anyone experienced better play (smoother connections, less cuntish behaviour) in the divisions mode compared to the events?

In myClub, the events were really off-putting because they disabled the filters for connection, team strength, and pass assist. Now, they've turned off filters for every mode, so I presumed it would be the same.

Incidentally, re connection quality: what is the point of having a system that displays connection quality pre-game, so you can decide to play or not, when it seemingly has no relation to connection performance?

I always get shown 5-bar opponents, whom I approve. But in game, they can be smooth and playable or sludgy and awful. How are they determining connection quality? What a rubbish system.
