eFootball (All Platforms)

If you look at it through the prism of profit, it maybe makes more sense. Can't win against strong teams? Can't filter teams to your strength level? Better put your own money into the game then and upgrade your team!

I think it's incredibly telling that they removed team strength filters even from their divisions/league mode for Dream Team. They had it in myChub. So I can assume they only removed it because they want to funnel people to spending real money ASAP.

"But it's FREE". Yeah, thanks for that. Aids is free as well.
Pardon me, but in my eyes, a game with so clear & separate powerscaling, combined with no rating filters, results strictly to Pay2win, or to be very kind, maybe freemium... I can't find proper words..

It's sad cause, it is still week 1...Too early for the camouflage to wore off...

Toss yo money, and buy your nukes, featured , inform, iconicmonent Lads ..

There is a criticism in here somewhere.

Does it turn on the idea that not spending on this game is somehow stingy? That we should be spending a bit on it, since, ya know, it's free!

If that's in any way part of the idea: get in the bin.
It was genuine.:EMB:
I would be more furious if 45 rated players could spank a legend team...because of momentum, scripting, etc.
Now its just the thing of higher rated players are "better" and easy to play with them. Which at least makes sense.
As for spending on the game i wouldnt rule it out to spend anything on it, especially when offline paid DLCs are out.
As for dream team, the only reason i dont want spend on it as i like the grind but i would be lying if wouldnt want some of those legends on my team. But its a raffle not a purchase. And also you can beat legend teams if the opponent is not so good or if he runs out of patience, with ugly play but its possible.

But what you are describing here is such a qualitatively poor experience. This is not why we got into games in the first place. It's so far out from an engaging, enjoyable, intriguing experience.

Pretty much the only enjoyment you can hope for in those circumstances is getting one over on someone who thinks they're a big deal and plays like a wanker. But it's such a short-lived feeling of "ha, justice", and you can't help but think you've demeaned yourself even having sat across from such people and taken them on in this fucked up arena.

The arena of play that Dream Team gives you is constituted by the worst of late-stage capitalism, individualism, and competition. That's what this cynical trash game will ultimately amount to in the long run too.

Not sure what you mean, you can turn that stuff off.
I mean if you play with a camera type far like on certain pitch/TV (which are... Far) at least having an arrow to guide where you make a pass is more than helpful, especially on PA0.
Without it, you can't be sure where you aimed the supposed wrong pass. It's pretty hard to judge where the cursor direction was when you've made a certain pass in a certain position with your eyes on TV and your thumb on the left analog, exactly (didn't read already the other answers, just answering that one)

... But it's ugly. And make it both very old school and Mobile in the same time. It make it feels like a game, i mean child game. Unfortunately.
If you play manual for randomness and surprise, remove it. If you play manual for really freedom... That's a big help.
From FIFA i can tell it's really helpfull in manual since they introduced it. I didn't carried that much as i was on FUMA, and wanted an help, and it was really helpfull and gives the freedom you want.

Don't think it's a way to train you for when you will play with it turning off (which i does, as i'm good with PA1). From my personal experience : i lost repair without it for passes, and i was worst after.
Edit: Well, not dribbling : for a worst reason i'm bad with that stuff for dribbling, i mean it's like visual pollution. The arrows is more usefull for passes. But pretty confusing for Dribbling and not needed for it.

I really can't believe you're saying that @gabe.paul.logan. Better teams should have an advantage for sure, with higher attributes meaning more accurate passes, or better ball control, or whatever it might be. But I'm certain it means worse responsiveness in your own players, and terrible first touches out of nowhere. If the game handicaps you like that, what's the point?

Just to say about stats : Responsiveness in Attack was guided by "Attack Prowess" and in defence by "Defence Prowess" in older versions.

But i suppose you play with superstars and @janguv is right about the "choice of gameplay" with all the assistance you got in defence.

I mean, that's the game with the more effective and various stuff you can do with the defence i never see. L2, R1, Circle, Square, Cross + double tap etc. based on the PS pad.
I was a bit wtf when i saw all of it in command. And the thing, is not only the number but all are effective (i'm repeating)

Now, i got no idea what to think if it's a gameplay choice, but for that situation... It's in a Offensive situation. I got no idea if you can trap the ball with L2 in that situation. If not, it's a simple bug, or a player unresponsive (low in Attack prowess in that case)

I just don't see the point in playing Dream Team any more with squads like this around in every division, and if you play the Real Team mode instead, all you can do is play one-off matches to earn GP for the Dream Team mode, right? Yawn.

I think you ignored something important gabe. Removing the team rating filters, just creates a mayhem. When it comes to similar abilities-skilled players, whoever has the biggest toys wins.

It's like they force people to buy the best. Before with filters in MC, there were people building 1*,2*,3* teams exclusively. Now it renders your little diamonds and wonderkids, or tool players useless in midgame and late game stage.

If there was the strength filter , i would agree 150% with you.

Would it matter tho? People who want to play that way still would go for the all star teams and you wouldnt be able to find opponent within your rank.
But we need lobbies surely and quick tournaments that could fill up quickly, perhaps those could be by rank range. .

Do we have a better database online to search for players?
If i go on pesmaster into advanced search, nothing happens.
Pesuniverse just keeps loading on the listing screen.

:PUKE:

On Steam it was searching forever under 4*. But on PS4, there were dedicated players for 1* and 2* only., IE i played a guy from Belgium 3 in a row, but matchmaking times were longer than minute.

But especially the last 2 PES games, there were a lot people that didn't like the game with 5* teams , just like people that play ML and confessed the same. And played mostly 3* or 4*, never 5* full of IMs and featured stacked rosters.

Of course there were exploits like whitebenching, but you could for sure avoid the Big Spenders.

I repeat, on consoles, for PC i know from friends, searching for matchmaking could last 5imutes spinning the wheel, and not finding a match in the end , for 1* & 2*.

I think thats out of scope here. On the first night i could play my friend online but only in quick matches in eFootball, i think we were the only one in the country playing this game the first night. However you cant match up someone in ranked games back to back, we had to wait at least 30 mins.

If you play with the italian commentary, i assure you that you will prefer to hear an old lady on his 80's praying rosary instead

Normally as it's more "international", there shouldn't be different version.

On US version you could choose French, English, Japanese. on Asia version you gotted Japanese (? ain't sure) Korean and Arabic, Chinese commentary in more.
And Jap version another package, don't remember what language you could get.

It would be cool to have all commentary available as it's a different format.
Arabic like on good old Rojadirecta or Japanese for me for WE vibes. They're motivated at least.

I think it's way too generous even when you start from scratch. Obviously this is an old Master League hand talking, but I want to grind away with the jobbers for a few games - earn and learn.

Instead, you can buy a 70+ starting XI straight off the bat. Gie's a challenge eh?

I don't feel it handicaps you. I can still dribble past their players, move the ball better and tackle them if they make mistakes. The only difference is it can feel like I am more rushed because they are simply faster. They also have better abilities so its hard to take the ball off them etc. But my players don't actively move slower or react slower. They just do in comparison the opponent.

Im pretty sure its not effecting "our" team. Have you considered the form arrows too next to the team style? It can have -+20 impact on the stats. And dont even mention you dont know the form of the opponent.

The reason im saying because i have beaten a couple of times stacked teams 4-0 too and my players felt responsive as they were in form and probably his not...plus he couldnt really play or wasnt patient enough. Its a combination imo. But havent seen "momentum"

But what is annoying really is that im not getting opponents from the same division im in but from any divisions. Not fair to anyone, but perhaps they were thinking about initially not having a huge player base.

That is an analysis Konami would be very happy with. I don't think that's the truth of the situation, though. They've made a game where you can very easily pay to win, and if you're up against a superstar team, you've got to pay up, or lose - so they won't really want you to be separated from those massively overpowered teams (I think @janguv has made this point).

It would seem to me - and I could be wrong on this because I don't play FUT, so I'm sure someone will correct me on this and I'll be thankful for the education - that it's even more pay-to-win than FUT is.

In other news...

I still want to play this game (and online, which would be a huge departure for me), but with two evenly-matched teams, to see if it could potentially be great.

So I tried to play a couple of times tonight in the "Real Teams" mode and both times, this is what happened. After 2-3 minutes of waiting for anyone to show up.

(This excludes the entire 2-minute pre-kick-off wait.)

I'll have to stick to offline.

I won two games tonight, but after the endingscreen it started to load. And then it said something about that the game didnt count bla bla.
But on the other hand all my losses did count 😁somehow konami made this game feels lifelike.
All your losses count. Still like it but i curse a lot when i play.

I mean my main thing still about this game is offline of course and the AI in it. Im still creaming my pants thinking only about having last year's ML with this AI and with any kind of gameplay mods and other kind of mods on PC.

As for online, sure that can be exploited like any online game, even a true esports game can be. (Btw im pretty sure the majority plays on assist level 1 and legends on top form). But what else there is to play offline now in efootball? Unfortunately not much.

As for the pay to win aspect...hm in some regards yes because of the match up online, it is unfair and push you towards putting money into it, but if we consider how do you acquire your players its just packs then. In FUT what you can do is packing Ronaldo twice lets say for real money, and put one up on the market to get gameplay coins from which you can buy players directly. So in that regard this is more cleaner as you can just release your packed players......YET. :D

Just got awarded a penalty....and im not exaggerating....my player and the ball was clearly(!!!!!!) outside the box, only the player at fault was inside! Is this a new rule? Or i just got away with a win bc of that? And it got me a promotion?

By the way about the player's Playing Styles....its just crazy in this game! I have played a bunch of the 2014-2021 PES games but never really felt if the AI uses those, it did not lets face it. But honestly never felt the difference between players in terms of those.
Now.... i got in the midfield both Puig and Gavi, small nimble creative playmakers, behind them Marc Roca anchoring as a new age future Busquets.
And playing lately stronger teams against opponents who now understand how to play the game, my midfield felt really weak. I could pass around the ball but there was hardly any defensive work or pressing. Please not that both those midfielders are 84 rated, pretty boosted by now. So i decided to buy a backup midfielder instead the old and cheap Fabregas. I got Gedson a box to box player.....and F my life i can feel on the field that he is a box to box!!!!
I play him instead of Puig and surely he is not so nimble but he is everywhere on the pitch! Attack, defence he is doing his thing what the team was missing!!! Elevated my midfield play to a whole another level and also he is decent at passing so can play out the ball from the defence. And he is 74 rated only!!! But i start him instead of Puig now.
God damn things like this in this game what is the old school PES spirit. Giving a chance to much lower rated player and he proves on the field that serves the tactic better than the higher rated one.

Few fundamental design flaws i'd like to mention (non fuma):

- Ball going to designated player and that designated player ONLY, even if another player is positionally suitable to receive the ball. Power bar and direction input is often ignored.

- Lack of responsive snappy control. Its most glaring when you take your first touch after receiving a pass, even if player is suitably positioned for said pass . Game ignores/lacks first time passing input which ruins the flow. There are several other occasions where your mind wants to play a certain way and the game just doesn't respond to it, its an age old fox engine era problem. If they incorporate responsiveness without ruining the speed and flow of the game, it would be an incredible achievement.

- Tackles from behind are sometimes clean and other times not. Its atrocious how you never know when it is going to be given as a foul. It should be like pes 5 and real life. It should be rare to be able to nick ball back from behind without conceding a foul.

After playing significant hours of Dreamteam online , i do agree i had some fun with it, especially beating players with legends. Overall, it feels closer to a finished product, there is fun to be had. Stats and stamina are more prominent than ever and its saving grace (and it has been for a while) is the dribbling. People praising RPG elements might find it fun at the start, but once you accumulate players with maxed out stats, those elements becomes redundant. Defensive positioning is rewarded with possession (although, i have seen ball deflected/megged back to opp player, occasionally). If they include intricate small touches to up the responsiveness, fix (obligatory) nets, its a solid 8/10 efootball game. This game is like a young but raw, footballing talent that has tremendous potential, its upto konami (which i doubt) to shape it up to its glory. I think i would play this over FIFA 22 any day of the week.
