eFootball (All Platforms)

So now im playing online, there are some tougher opponents of course with the money teams. Had one match against someone who had Vieira and he was constantly bullying Puig and Gavi off the ball, so i decided that in the middle of the park i rather hold him up with Marc Roca and he did the job with his jockey against Vieria helping the team get the ball to the final third.

Are we really having a football game in 2022?

Well, this “game” made me spent quite some time in practice mode. Why is that I ask myself, when earlier version were so far off of what a football game should be like (Or what I think is a good football sim).
well, first i owe it to myself to check on new football games, even when the sport is something I let go more and more each week. It’s not my sport anymore…but that’s another topic.

Second, it really is the old days… the love for the series (I had)… that keeps me coming back and check if there is finally a sim to play.

what this build does to me, it’s bringing back old PES vibes (to a degree)… same time I’m asking myself, was the release of v9.xxx on purpose!? Humans work like that, and I’m sure company’s got the users brain down by now… I’m talking cheap dopamine outputs in focus! You get me.

anyway, when I get back from a lovely and sunny trip to several local pubs today (cheers for the beers big ears and thanks for outside seatings), I’ll be spending some more time in practice mode. There is something deep within me, that needs to test… to see… to feel! 🤷‍♂️

edit: I’m asking myself if it’s maybe just the return of hope (for a good sim)… like I felt it before. Damn… maybe it’s time to fully let go.

another topic: when I’m in my cockpit and racing other users online these days, I’m always reminded of how unfair football multiplayer was. i don’t get that with sim racing! Ok, I’m in a cozy and helpful community (with rookies and aliens and drivers of all skill levels) but it’s fair on the track! It’s up to my skills to make the podium, not some scripting or mechanic to ”keep up the flow”!

it would become a new thread if I’d dive deeper but I think you get me. Just saying.

Do you consider that the developement proccess of ML is in his early stage ?

Hard to tell as they may be well advanced into other development builds or just early in the process.
They can easily copy/paste the ML from pes 21 code, but I think they know people expect more content in it.

Changed my tactic into out wide playstyle as i got speedy wingers and llorente which is only good at heading. It also has good balance between attack and defense and very compact in the middle of the pitch.
I also bought a new manager that suit the team, training and other stuff (thanks to the tips from this community).
Went online for the 1st time after reading some testimonies here, scored 3 goals in 30th minutes and the opponent quit. 2nd game it was similar. The opponent just quit. I think they hate it when i play possession football

Makes me think that they were able to pull of to make a decent or not the best football game in the decade in 2 years....so what was going on from PES2014-2021? They changed staff? Or Fox Engine was that bad really for footy games? Or Kojima left unclear instructions on purpose how to use it properly? :LMAO:
I really dont get it for example that with eFootball they went full online and this game has the best on the pitch AI every in a footy game imo. So what was the issue in the past 10 years?

Thats quick match i bet? I had the same experience as there is no reward there to get. Go into Events/World Wide Tour. I beat someone 5-1 easily, but he had a really starting team indeed. Then i got beaton by a beast of a team 3-0 by someone who played well also, then i beat a another beast team 1-0....all with possession. They did not quit really because i guess they would lose the XP and the match reward too. But again its just 3 games so im just hoping its like that on the long run.

Konami, I get it, you want to get money off me and play your online modes but it ain’t gonna happen loves.

Just give me more than five minutes on an offline game ffs

Yes they were quick match. I'm scared to venture deeper online only to face superstar teams.

Well if you play possession against beast teams my advice is just to put the team tactic in Defence 1 from the start with the d-pad. So you could be able to pass around in the back looking for the opening to build up higher on the pitch.
Thats what i do and it can be considered annoying but what am i supposed to do if the opponent pressing me with MBappe and Neymar constantly? Well this, its football like in real life.

Even with my low rating, 0 superstar player, will I still be facing mbappe, ronaldo, romario and co.? I'm not familiar with the matchmaking system

It felt so good and naturally, when I used the dpad to get my mates higher or deeper. Let alone that double press for offside trap. 😍
haven’t done that for month and it plays a huge role on how this software is trapping me into practice mode.

ePractice 2022! 😂 I’m doing it like playing some Wii Sports demo! 😂👏

Lol i just did what you suggested. Managed to scrape a win against a quite strong opponent. He pass the ball crazy good and plays very high line just like barca.

Cant do anything except defending on 70th min after he brought in subs. My players were dead but i dont have any decent sub to brought in.

How is Llorente? Im considering collecting money for Giroud. I have Vela and Krkic as CF/SS, not a single tall guy, altough i rather play on the floor but when im struggling whipping in some crosses would be useful.
As for the bench, yes if you collect some money buy some really budget options/versions of your starting team. A defender, midfielder, winger perhaps. You have to really look around to find players with low price but some decent attributes but it worth it really and if they get playtime they will improve of course quicker if they are young.

Finally got in... I'm lovin it. Manual vs Assisted is muuuch more feasible - so much so that I win like 97% of the games I play vs assisted players. Actually found one dude playing FUMA too... played really nice. It's IMO, a much better game than PES21 Online. People that spam press get caught lacking easily, as the players with the ball are much more controllable.

A tip for ball control: press the Run button ever so slightly, your player will take delicate touches on the ball (if he is good for that)

So Gabe, you are actually playing that online dream team mode?!
i tried one match (for 20 ingame minutes) and then my opponent left…
how is online lag compared to offline? Is it any better than the decades before? @Chris Davies mentioned he had some fun online.…

edit: I’m so willing to try… one last time (not really)… but I will! 😂

I did not feel any latency yet. There is Quick Match which is a friendly and your players dont get XP from it. And there are Events mode where they do get XP. In there also you can play vs AI only too. Under that currently a Spanish teams only event is going. I mean the AI will use only spanish teams, you dont have to meet any criteria.
Its actually i think a nice incarnation of Master League Online. There is no pack opening or ball spinning, just earning currency and buying, developing the players and team style between the players and your coach.

To be honest he's not that great now. I bought him only because of personal feeling. I thought he was immense when he plays for spurs in ucl back in the day.

They have stated in a recent tweet that they are working on ML and other offline/coop content.
It only states ML, not cup or league mode, which I hope they'll implement back in the game
I stated this before, what's the point of having licenses then? It is not that those offline modes will get them less sales, in contrary, the game will be more popular by the offline fanbase

Is it possible to have more of a one player in starting eleven (for example two Cristiano Ronaldo in team). Not planning something like that, just curious, because I didn't play much online before efootball.

I'm asking because I did something unusual. I bought Dusan Tadic twice :). I know it sounds ridiculous but I didn't like how I develop him, and since I'm planning to play with him whole year, and have those GP's left, I thought why not. Never tried to put them both in starting eleven, had one in team and other in reserves. Later released old one. Does this mean I could end up playing against 3 Mbapes up front or something like that?

Having played quite a bit more, I'm really in two minds about it. Some things are bugging me no end:

- the target locking is the worst I've ever played in a game (I don't know if it's as bad on PA since I only play FUMA, but it's terrible for this). I mean: when you pass to an intended player, the auto-select switches to an option nowhere near the ball or the play in general. Kills moves in their tracks instantly.

- the player awareness for getting onto a ball is a really small circle around them (I don't mean the literal UI circle...) So unless you're holding match up and facing/approaching the ball, your players will often just ignore it even when it's close by. The same happens when receiving the ball in space (again, I only play FUMA, so maybe this happens less on PA where balls haven't gone into space for years).

- the online playing culture is already getting toxic and win-at-all-costs. That's a given with this sort of game, but depressing all the same.

- the sharp touch mechanic can be wonderful at times, but since you can pre-trigger it, whether or not you have the ball, it can result in some comically bad/stupid shit.

- players still run into each other a la the last several PES games. And that fucking animation where a player sticks his back leg out and kills a move is still in the game, for God knows what reason.

- the ball physics on ground passes are genuinely shocking. Newton would like a word. The grass provides literally no friction sometimes, it's like playing on ice.

Im noticing more and more positive opinions about the game. Some coming from people who, like myself, abandoned all hope long ago. There seems to be some glimpses of real potential now and depth that was missing for a very long time.
Just wanted to say that its nice to see all this. Really is. Im happy for ye.
I do hope that "the King" will come back at some point, even if he is now tired and derelict.
Now all your focus should be on providing proper feedback. Especially people who have some reach, like youtubers, or the lads from Pesuniverse.
There is a long way to go and the last thing you want now is for Konami to remove all the good things in favour of screaming "FUT" kids.
This game is not going away. They will build up on that base. You should make sure they are going in a right direction.
Otherwise you'll get:
PoliteUnrealisticBassethound-max-1mb.gif
- What do they want...?
- Dumbed down AI, my Lord... and more boots...

The gameplay definitely has its weaknesses. But I really like the leveling system I am playing each day at the moment getting players better in playstyle and stats.
