I guess I will be saving points for a new manager then. Have just been laser-focused on filling the squad.

I cant remember tho that it should impact player ratings too. First thing i did is changing the manager, now i switched it back to the default one who has 50 for all tactics but ratings dont change. Im missing something here probably.
 
- The biggest issues are definitely responsiveness, keepers have problems at times rushing out and misread where the ball is causing some bizarre silly goals or instances.
I actually find it interesting you say that, I felt they are much brut at coming off their line at the first sniff of 1 on 1 danger this time.

I played 2021 yesterday & the keeper was glued to his god damn goal line during a 1v1 like he was scared of getting some kind of seperation anxiety from their goal, giving the striker all the time in the world to settle on his strategy regarding beating my keeper.

This I've found eFootball's keepers to gf a breath of fresh air.
 
The default Pass Assist setting of 2 is really awful. You can run to the touchline & try to kick the ball out of play and it will override & pass to the nearest player

The game feels much better on PA3 where this doesn't happen at all. This really should have been made the default although the actual passing speed on this setting could do with being a bit faster. It's painfully slow compared to PA2 at times.

I agree with klash on this, keepers are stuck on their lines still way too much. Also they concede very easily on the close side of the goal. Based on what efootball twitter stated, they got feedback before 1.0 that there is too much shooting error so they watered it down, it seems like it causing a balancing issue with the keepers
What I will say in this game's favour (though it applies to all PES games, in the midst of all their failings)...

When you see shots like this go in, they mean so much more than they do in "the other game".

Honestly i still dont like shooting in the new games, neither in efootball, mostly because what i mention above to Marlon.
Although the struggle and beauty in the build up compensates it heavily at the moment. There is more error in passing than in shooting. Which is weird to be honest.

The wording is very off on those ingame, i have tested it on Sunday in the training mode.

Level1 - Assisted power and assisted targeting. So no powerbar just either nearest target or a far target picked for you by the AI. You can chose targets based on direction. AI overrides the pass to your closest team mate if you direct it to an empty pocket of space.
Level2 - Manual power and assisted targeting. So you have powerbar for passing. You can chose targets based on direction. AI overrides the pass to your closest team mate if you direct it to an empty pocket of space.
Level3 - Manual power and assisted targeting So you have powerbar for passing. You can chose targets based on direction. AI WONT overrides the pass if you direct it to an empty pocket of space.
Level4 - full manual

Im on Level 3 to be honest, because i dont want the AI spamming passes into passing lanes all the time, sometimes i want to put the ball into an empty space and have a run at them. But other times i kick the ball just off field due to that reason by accident especially in panic mode.

Yeah I do struggle on PA3 at times with kicking the ball in completely the wrong direction. It's much more rewarding though. The game does feel a bit snappier on PA2 which I like but the over eager assistance kills it for me.

I do, however i agree there are some skaty animations especially when players position adjust to the ball, they got sucked onto it. Also when they are twisting and turning, sometimes there is skating too. But i think they just missing animations, as there are a lot of mouth watering new animations too for passing, trapping, interceptions, bodyfeints etc.
 
I suggest taking control of the keeper when your opponent is clear through. I have saved a couple of online through ball spammers that say. If you just use triangle and rush out your toast.

I gotta say I love having the ball with Insigne and just let go of sprint, stand still or walk and lure your opponent in and then fool him with a quick L-stick turn or twist. Very rewarding.

Hopefully Online divisions or just online vs will return because Dreamteam will be horrible in a week at most when most people have the same superstar teams.

Last night I played a guy with Beckenbauer, van Dijk, Neymar, Messi, Mbappe, Viera etc, etc. I lost 8-0. I do think he used PA1 or 2 but it didn't matter what I did. Like stated before, this could be a great mode if it would be balanced but I can't see it happening.

Same, and with it being cross-platform and having to be mobile friendly, I can't see ball physics or any other physics improving. Which is such a shame (let alone the lack of offline modes, and online being full of superstars already, leaving no mode I can invest myself in).

Every pass feels like it's a toe-poke. It bobbles along the pitch at the same speed from start to finish. It moves more like a remote-control BB8 than a football. But that's what an eSports-focus does; it replaces the variation of reality with a forced constant, so that no eSports player feels "cheated" by something unpredicted happening.

There's plenty of good but I really struggle to see past the bad, especially when it's ever-present... Just moving around with the ball feels weird, and kicking it even weirder - how do you get past that?

(Funny thing is, exact same issue with "the other game". Here we are in 2022 with two football games that make me go "URGH" from just picking up the controller and moving a player around... How has the last 20+ years of football games lead to this?)

Im on purpose trying to win now pens with Firmino. In 4-5 games he won us 2 already. Before i was trying it with Adama but he is not so nimble on the ball, he more like a freight train.

Exactly! It was the first think I noticed after the update.
Close control animations and microsteps to position are deleted in order to make the game more "responsive".
The game flows better, is a lot more organic, AI has some serious variety (thank God) , shooting is the best since a decade ago, but hell, those skating and gliding animations kill the feel for me.
As for the ball physics I am ok with them and error in controlling / trapping the ball is quite nice.
Also net physics and shitty net sound kills the feel of scoring.
There is very nice net physics/shape mod for Pes 21 and combined with the net sound mod , make Pes 21 nets quite decent.
I hope it can be applied to ef2022.
 
Why they decided to start a new season each 2 months ?

It means that in one year we will have 6 season ? isn't too much !

Hm indeed! My DMF just got a red so within an event and hopeso within the efootball league cards do matter.
Anyone has a feedback on yellow cards collected? Altough its difficulty kinda to collect 5 online with 3 matches only.
 
After playing an online game I went to the game plan only to find that one of my players was suspended for a red card that I didn't receive. WTF!
 
I've just spent a good hour or so on the training pitch with no opposition just practicing the dribbling & general movement. I don't think I've done this since the PS2 era, lots to learn with the new mechanics.

They really have nailed the intricate movement with the sticks & pressure sensitive dribbling. It's risk reward full sprinting with the ball now. So satisfying shifting your weight with sharp touch.

If they can get some really solid ball physics implemented in future updates then it could be really special. Right now the base of a great game is there, it's just lacking in certain areas (and modes!)
