eFootball (All Platforms)

I hope and assume there's not a lot of people who buyed lootboxes regarding the game score. Or tried it.
But i'm maybe wrong, hoping not.
Konami is awfully silent about this. They put out a statement only which others put out when theres a glitch in the achievement system or some minor stuff.

No day1 patch, no hotfix nothing.

NO ONE is gonna play this to buy your lootboxes ..... idiots. I almost feel sorry for them.

Edit: you forgot what said the very reliable Renan Galvani
(He's a good guy btw, he posted here not so long. But he say too much fakes news just for some clicks in more)

I don't know if it is a common problem, but I downloaded (twice) the game and it doesn't start ! I get the small first time setup screen, but then nothing happens. Does anyone else have the same problem and managed to find a solution ?
Is your internet on ? The game need online connection to be opened.

Mr. Kimura stated that the intention of the cross-platform support was "to create a larger digital platform than ever before. He also said that the decision was necessary to capture the younger generation, who only play games on their smartphones, given the background of the increasing number of people who do not watch or own a TV.

In addition, he cited "changes in the market environment" where the growth of the F2P model was noticeable as a factor in the decision to go F2P, and said that it was essential to remove the price barrier and appeal to a wider range of players in order to establish a globally unified digital platform.

From now on, the "eFootball" series will be operated as a digital platform with regular updates, rather than new titles being released every year. As a form of "future game experience" that fits the soccer game/sports genre, Mr. Kimura said that the "eFootball" platform will not be limited to soccer games, but will also be a place for players to communicate with each other, an opportunity to exchange information, and an opportunity to experience and watch e-sports. We hope to expand the platform into a service similar to the metaverse," he said.

It has come to my conclusion that no matter how much feedback the community has given to them, they will never implement them. Why? Because they don't have enough talent to even achieve a truly innovative football game. They've been stuck trying to imitate FIFA since last gen instead of having their own identity, sure, there's a difference in gameplay but everything about the game still stuck in the PS2 era. The developers of PES are creatively bankrupt and a bunch of fuckn hacks. And this game pretty much exposed them.

If the build that Spoony and others played a few weeks ago was "ok", how come Konami didn't release the Windsor build for everyone else to play? They could have used that as a demo, and judging by the impressions from Spoony, pesuniverse, camaldinho and others, it wasn't that bad compared to this abomination. The reviews would be mixed, but not like they are today. If that was the better version of efootball, why aren't we playing that one?

How do you release a football game without weather effects? How do you release a football game without sharp kick? Need I remind all of you this is an official release of efootball. Not a demo.

And check this out: They scanned Arsenal's goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale's face in DP7 for PES 2021, but on efootball, they didn't. Arsenal are partnered with efootbal and they couldn't even be bothered to scan their first choice goalkeeper. He has that ugly default face you see in all PES titles where everyone looks the same.

They expect us to play 5 minute offline matches and 10 minute online matches all day everyday until next year February/March when other modes are released? Also, during the led up to launch, have you noticed they were very stingy when it came to releasing any gameplay footage?

They are gonna spend more time patching this broken game and less time refining modes like Master League that need a huge face lift. If they want my money for any efootball paid dlc, they gonna need to show that A: they have resolved all of the issues plaguing this game, and B: making ML the most in depth offline mode in history rivaling FM 21 and FIFA's Career mode.

Never in my wildest nightmares did I ever think I'd end up playing a football game that didnt have sharp kicks.

It just never occurred to me.

i am a masochist, i have 8+ hours of this pathetic excuse for football.
i can say that is good are the keepers, but only for a moment, after few great saves they goes full retard, amazing.
and what about penalties? for example, you select top left corner, but if goalkeeper dives on the right side ball goes like in the middle little to the left.

I don't think it's a talent issue, I genuinely don't think Konami, and especially ass-lick bullshitter "fuck y'all, I'm doing fine" Adam, give a flying fuck about anybody outside of their cashcow community of tweens on mobiles. They've proven every year that feedback goes straight to the trash can.

If this title turns out to be half-decent, it will be by accident or even the tweens are sick of their sub-par shit, not because they care about their older customers.

Adam has been awfully quiet since efootball's launch. He was very talkative prior to it's release.

Yeah, he was giving all that "let the product speak for itself" big one. If he had any dignity he'd fall on the sword because more than anybody else within Konami, he should know this community and the expectations but he sold his soul the moment the self-importance kicked in. If any of us had that job and assuming some clout (which given he was promoted, he must have some) we'd be getting 2 or 3 dozen people from this forum and getting them to test it every stage of the way to make sure it's on track. Real customer feedback from real customers, people who know and play soccer games.

The reason efootball is so bad is because the developer behind the fox engine (PES 2021 engine) Kojima Productions split with Konami and it therefore could not be recreated for PS5 etc due simply to lack of knowledge carrying Fox forward . Therefore it had to be done in unreal engine #efootball #pes2021 according to Japanese website :

Your seeing a cluster fook now for said reason!

I'm sorry, this really doesn't mean anything, as it's just baseless speculation. (NOT defending the game).
This website is a まとめサイト, which summarizes threads on an anonymous message board (so basically the equivalent of reddit/4-chan in Japan).
Not a reliable source by any means (again, the game is still a mess, not defending it).

They certainly lack talent. They've been using Fox for almost a decade now, an engine that is great and incredibly versatile that can hold up for years to come, and yet they can't even fully utilized it to its full potential. Don't even make me talk about the outdated game design, animations, UI, gameplay and game modes. Masterleague still is crap to this day. No innovation. I honestly think PES devs are incredibly mediocre.

Tried the game on Xbox series too and in cut scenes, i could have sworn the rendering didn't seem right on player models at times.

Still a pile of junk, not a fan of FIFA 22 either, too frantic and arcadey for me. And the player animations and movements are just fucking dumb

Game turns out to be fun (ignoring terrible AI, graphics and contact physics) on +1 speed and broadcast camera. Response times are way better, and dribbling is actually the one thing this game does really well (the way you control players with small movements of the stick and dash button). Granted, more arcadey, but at least it's fun.
+1 speed should be the default speed. The default speed is unplayable for me.

Anyone else noticed when sprinting, you release RT or R2 whatever it is, and the player continues sprinting for a good 3-4 yards ? That by design or just broken mechanics?

These feelings are ours, no one can ever take them away from us. No matter how eFootball is now, no matter how it was last year (and it was still a good game if you ask me, just a little soulless compared to the PES of the good old days, but maybe it's me who's wearing thoes damn rose-tinted glasses again), the things we lived during the golden age of PES will stay with us forever.

Right on, awesomely put bro. Rose tinted glasses or not, this is 100% right.

And you know what? It's not rose tinted nostalgia when you miss the heart and soul of what made PES fun, which is that it has its own flavor and character, standing apart from trends and doing its own thing. Maybe PES 2013 doesn't have the best graphics, but it has 10,000 times more personality and excitement than the current version.

It's all the fun and joy of it, anyway. I see very little of that now. At least PES 2021 has a humongous and passionate community to fall back on, which makes the game worthwhile.

How many sleepless nights during the PS2 era, playing PES 4 online with uni's coursemates till 5 AM, only to leave them, get ready, go to the station, commute by train and be at the uni at 8 AM ready to pick up a controller and play again, this time in person. 🤩

It's by design. The RT is now pressure sensitive with different running speeds dependent on how far you push the trigger. The continuation of sprinting is momentum but it's slightly OTT IMO, if you release it gradually & slow down the running speed the player will stop a bit faster.

Holding sprint down the whole way all the time in this game will seriously hamper control, dribbling & defensive positioning.

It's taken me a while to stop doing it from years of PES muscle memory. Same goes for right stick, dribbling is much more responsive with subtle movements & feathering of the RT.

It's actually pretty cool & realistic but needs work like everything else in this game. Some really nice ideas in here but very poorly implemented for the most part.

Game needs to be more responsive & fluid whilst trying to keep these mechanics. It's so janky looking at times & unresponsive. I feel like I'm playing a mixture PES 2011 & 2014 with all the worst parts of those games. Some of the animations are awful.

The story about key staff leaving after the development of the Fox Engine causing complications while transitioning on the PS4 reminds me so much of WWE 2K20.

How Yukes, the developer of the games for the entire series left in 2019 causing a new developer to create their own engine similar to the one Yukes made, In such a short time span at short notice without learning enough from the previous developer that it led to a broken buggy mess of a shambolic product that their publisher 2K kept quiet about and promoted anyway only for everybody to discover how unstable it was going to be just before launch.

At least eFootball doesn't cost £40+ (Unless you're a mark who payed for that pre-order bonus) and at least Konami drafted their disingenuous apology earlier than 2K did too.

2K only apologised months later, Only because they had to announce a reason why they weren't announcing 2K21 as usual the following April.

Well, I didn't follow the story because I'm not into WWE games, but... If I were a 2K rep, in a similar situatuion, I'd say something like...
"We're not releasing 2K21 according to the usual schedule. We truly wanted to take it to the next level with 2K20, but as you saw things didn't quite go as expected. So, we're holding back the game until we're truly ready to give you a great experience".

Too much Konami-ish? I think it's kinda honest but, on the other hand, doesn't expose the situation too much.
