eFootball (All Platforms)

Right. The one thing I can cling onto for this shitshow is apparently this disgraced a code we have for efootball on launch is far older than what TMK, Spooky and cam played at Windsor. Apparently that's already much superior and far less bugs.

Why this code didn't come on day one is a disgrace. Who on earth though what was there on release was good ENOUGH????

Maybe they wanted to give us a taste of what this model looks like with a quick patch coming soon lol. Man I don't know, I'm clutching at straws. This company is baffling.

There seems to be a lot of short cut scenes before every set piece that are not always easy to skip by pressing start or X/A, specially on corners.

I've also noticed that when the opposition has a corner kick on the lower side of the screen, it will sometimes not zoom out to show the person taking it (it remains zoomed in on the penalty box).

I'm still getting used to the gameplay, but I think that when you defend by holding X/A and occasionally tapping square/X to tackle it's pretty hard to get a free kick called against you. I feel like like I keep clipping the AI's players and taking the ball, but no foul is never called.

The gameplay is interesting (my opinion can still change here, wide confidence intervals, although I don't think I'll like it as much as PES21), but there's a lot of stuff missing. Maybe give us a real training mode so we can learn all the new stuff?

I think the game is still months, if not a year, away from being completed.

i just wonder that maybe despite the fact they don't want to do yearly releases, the contractual obligations with partner clubs is that they have to do yearly releases! hence why we will have efootball 'seasons' and this is technically efootball 2022 etc

Tried it again with the unlocked cpk. 15-20 minute matches are not that bad and can be used as a baseline for further progress. Professional difficulty didn't seem buggy to me. Pretty balanced for someone who's not used to the mechanics. Even broke through the defence with a through ball.
However, physical defending is way too overpowering, much worse than holding A in the previous games, which resulted in fouls sometimes.
New fake shot/cross mechanic with RB is less error prone.

AI is terrible and I don't think it's possible to fix it with mods.

Back to 2021, God bless.

You can literally just hold the physical defending button and it turns players into homing missiles. The whole unique selling point of this game (i.e. "manual defending") is redundant. The technical incompetence doesn't surprise me and is more or less what I expected, but the fact the balance of the core mecanics that were the main focus of development are so abysmal has meant that even I've been shocked at the state of this release. Don't put your hopes into this "Windsor build" either, if you look at the more grounded reviews most of these issues were there. I don't think it's salvagable and expect they will pull the plug on this or make it mobile only within 1 year max. Personally I'm looking forward to that day since it's well past time that this game was put out of its misery and we can all finally get closure.

We are yet to find the 8% on steam who enjoyed this game as it is. I would really love to see someone from konami to have the balls and comment on this situation we are at the moment. This is why they didn´t want any footage shown, or why we didn´t have anything better than what the trailers shown. Simply because there is NOTHING better to show. This is and Alpha release, and i have played alphas in better state than this is. I guess this must be even worse than CP2077. They should refund everyone that Blindly bought their Player pack, just for this mess to have even bigger proportions (because i think people who have bought that shit, deserve what they are getting for being blind fanboys, and should be obbliged to give Konami another 40€).

Like someone said, Microsoft could buy Koinami for 10M, and that would be a little to much for all the shit they did to their own IP´s

Why Microsoft? Why not Sony? They already have a studio that focuses on a sport game. They can use MLB's engine for PES. Just look at how realistic looking this game is compared to PES games and the commentary and presentation are far superior.

Professional difficulty is the most realistic mode in all PES games. I realised it when I was too tired of AI cheats in PES19 on Superstar and changed it to professional. SUDDENLY I discovered that this difficulty is amazing in terms of pacing and AI behaviour.

They could have published this apology right after the Reveal Trailer...

The only positive thing about this disaster is the fact that it is not directly related to the PES brand and Winning Eleven. The two can at least rest in peace.

Yeah I disagree. I think that once people get a hang of the dribbling L2 won't be anywhere near as overpowered.
This release is pretty dire, but the dribbling is one thing that I'll defend.

Just because I only have Xbox series X and not PlayStation 5 😂😂.
Jokes apart I guess Microsoft has a lot more money to buy a company like Konami, even though Sony has it too, but I’m not Sure either of them want to klash with EA, so I guess it will never going to happen, unfortunately.

I don’t care about graphics at all, if the gameplay is really good, fun , and have a perfect balance between SIM and Arcade like PS2 times. If gameplaywise a game is good the Presentation part it’s the easiest to do if companies want (our community is the best proof of that and they don’t receive anything for it and do it in their free time) , even more in this F2P model, where they can add content whenever they want .

The new celebration prompts are a cool idea. I just did one called 'right back at you're where my player copied Ronaldo's celebration lol.

There is some truth to that I suppose, it's a bit harsh to judge the balance before people actually know the controls and the meta is established. But that leads into the other way in which they massively dropped the ball, which was not launching the game with an in-depth up front tutorial and training ground for people to practice the new mechanics, not to mention 5 minute games offline. Completely changing the controls people have been used to for so many years and just throwing it out there with nothing more than some randomised tips that show up during the match, it's completely unheard of in this day and age. Look at what Football Manager does, every time they add a new feature, even if it's just a new information screen, it usually comes with a step by step tutorial for what it does and how it benefits you as the player. If they'd taken these common sense and entirely predictable in advance measures then it might at least have been a 20% positive rather than a <8% positive.

Think he was referring to the impressions of the Windsor playtesters specifically. A lot of which were very positive. But of course they would be...

Amazing that he knew in advance the impressions would be positive as well.

on that note check out the series of tweets from the guy at NGB that reviewed it not so favourably.

poor fella got a lot of hate from the reddit and spoony goons by the seems of things

What I don’t understand is, why market it as a finished product with just game modes to add when that clearly isn’t the case? This is clearly a demo.
What they should have said is something along the lines of efootball is now free to play. The 30th of September release will be an alpha/beta build which will be automatically be updated in November or whenever and will not reflect the final product.
Well I hope this build doesn’t reflect the final product

Pes 2008 was as bad as this eshit when it came out. It took 3 years before they came up with a good game (pes 2011). Since Seabass was demoted the game has gone downhill and konami as a company changed its focus completely, financially they are doing pretty miserably my guess the company will be sold to a big player sooner than later.
The one thing they should do though is to remaster old pes games,l will gladly pay full price for a remastered pes 3-6, 5 being my fav

You're crazy if you do.

Judge what they do, not what they say.

Remember what they said two years ago. Then look at what they have done. And that's only one example.

Anyone remember their survey in November last year? Blink and you missed it - it was open for two weeks and they posted about it only once, on Twitter.

Given the questions asked, it's clear they junked an entire survey (and vision for the game). Forgive me in having little faith in questionnaires less than a year down the line!

Completely agree. They've botched this launch and I don't know if they'll be able to recover. It's a shame because I think they've given us some of the most innovative mechanics in PES for a long time.

Well, how do you improve quality, when you have not first imported quality in it?

Hell no.
Last thing I want is another console exclusive game.

Don't want either MS or Sony to buy the IP.
