If this game was built from the ground up then the devs must have built it standing on their heads because the game has gone in the opposite direction. TTB speculated that it's possible they released the wrong build but everything about this shambolic mess feels deliberate.

It’s a product still heavily in the early stages of development.There’s not a game out there that doesn’t look or have these same issues at such a raw stage.

Expecting perfect collisions,stable framerates and clean graphical fidelity from what is so clearly a alpha form high spec hardware is not how game development works.Brute force doesn’t make up for a lack of optimisation,nor do dev kits magically clean up issues with unfinished or early code.

Every pes or fifa would of looked and played like this at some stage.

Doesn’t change how dated the predetermined gameplay is,the physics or dated AI.But it will have a solid frame-rate,be optimised properly for every platform and will be a lot more polished eventually we hope.

I play PES 5 and 6 from time to time. They are both masterpiece games, but somehow they do not satisfy me anymore. Can't say if it's the old rosters, the graphics or the controls, but they just don't click with me like they used to.
With PES21 I play mostly Serie A League with rosters updated to current season and I really enjoy it. Did not try FIFA 22 because FIFA 21 was a big disappointment and can't believe they filled the gap in just 1 year...

But some people like it better., while you can compare in every area, PES is objectively righter. (just received the 22, so it will be time to really test. Surprised how fast, i ordered the game yesterday afternoon)

He’s not wrong regarding PES 2020/21 shooting physics. Any square shot as no flow or curve, it’s a straight rocket. And even the r2 shooting can be discuss if that physics looks right (sometimes it does, others don’t).

It was one of the biggest problems for me in the game in recent years. And that fact made the game a bit repetitive indeed.

Il say one thing it surprised me in the couple of matches I did on Efootball (Ps5 version), was that they addressed this. It’s far from perfect or satisfactory( nothing in that game is), but at least they gave some flow and curve to the ball on square shooting( there’s even a screen that pops mid game explaining the fact).

But the game is pure trash, it’s in a state that it should have been for developers eyes only. It’s not on a state that it should be considered an alpha build even, and even worst being shown to the public.

I would not be surprised to know that they only started developing this game in the beginning of this year. Playing the game it does look like it’s something that’s been developed for just a few months.

The issue for example in all Fifa : i can't feel the ball like in any PES even the baddest of all (efootball not took in consideration), shooting, passing, all.

I'm not saying he's blameless, I'm saying I find it absurd that Konami's official accounts react to no-one leaving him to take all the heat via a personal account.

I fell for it after reading the first line. It sounds very Konami-ish to be honest.
And I don't even exclude that they could release exactly this press release (this shows how much I trust them ATM).

We are yet to find the 8% on steam who enjoyed this game as it is. I would really love to see someone from konami to have the balls and comment on this situation we are at the moment. This is why they didn´t want any footage shown, or why we didn´t have anything better than what the trailers shown. Simply because there is NOTHING better to show. This is and Alpha release, and i have played alphas in better state than this is. I guess this must be even worse than CP2077. They should refund everyone that Blindly bought their Player pack, just for this mess to have even bigger proportions (because i think people who have bought that shit, deserve what they are getting for being blind fanboys, and should be obbliged to give Konami another 40€).

Like someone said, Microsoft could buy Koinami for 10M, and that would be a little to much for all the shit they did to their own IP´s

Straight Rocket was on PES 2016 especially.
I don't have issue since PES 2019 about shooting strong or weak they've added a lot of variety since PES 2015-16, more and more game after game to became what it is now. And it's more than acceptable.
I prefers even shooting from PES, i feel the shoot, the weight of the ball. In Fifa, there's curve yes but the ball if by far too small and i just don't FEEL the impact. It's like pushing the ball with strength more than shooting. Floating feeling too.
To me, it's completely wrong to say there's no variety on shoot on PES 2020-21. On the previous ones yes. Even on (one favorite here) PES 2017 there's no such variety.

There's much more variety in PES 2021 than in any older PES except perhaps the 2012, well 2013 shoot is floaty and you don't feel the impact.
But on old PES it doesn't seems people carried... Nostalgia perhaps. I read a lot of thing without any recoil about the "current" (well last years) PES : because it's a bit the Fox again and again year after year, and some are annoyed by it.
I understand, i was bored a lot by FIFA engine from 10 to 14. Only big change that i didn't liked : tactical defending (well, it was good before FIFA 15 in terms of effectiveness) I prefers a thousand times pressing. It's much more natural as a feeling, i was kind of defending IRL in the past. Pressing someone was totally natural, but contain him from a 1 meter distance and followed him... No. It's a "game" thing, not a "football" thing.

EDIT/ I noticed when someone play too much Fifa, he feel the PES ball as a bullet. When someone play too much PES, he feel Fifa ball as an helium baloon.
I played both in the same time practically (the 19) and i can say in fact, the best feeling of impact and ball physics overall is by far won by PES. Shooting curve in real isn't that pronounced neither, there's a bit of exageration in FIFA and a bit of "straightness" on PES. It's a matter of choice, but reality is between the two, but closer to PES to me.

Sorry again for the O.T., well i didn't started to talk about Fifa and the thread is practically dead as the game is in a total coma until a future update (if there's one at least "playable")

The fact we cannot select tactically how we want to defend sums up the sorry broken state this game is.

This honestly made me feel quite down yesterday. I think that was by far the worst, most soul sapping, disappointing football gaming session I have ever had :( even shit like adidas power soccer was fun. I've been playing this game since I was 7.

This was like discovering a family member is a heroin addict and has to have his arm amputated.

Ok so Konami sent a July code to Sony/Xbox to approve for 30th. Surely they could have released a day 1 patch to supersede this awful release? Is that beyond the realms of imagination? I mean I’ll stick with this because I can’t play FIFA and don’t have a pc for a modded pes 2021. Konami really are beyond belief.
