"Improved ball physics... we never said anything about pitch physics though!!"
Screenshot 2021-09-07 134558.jpg
The AI in the first video only has one way of approaching the goal, pretty sure they always go up the same side as well. Normal crosses seem to be forbidden, even the human player seems to be resorting to short passes from every set play, no doubt looking for or having already found potential exploits.

Looks pretty normal to me if you have played PES the last few years. Players seem to have more weight and momentum, and it isn't 100 mph like FIFA.

It will improve constantly considering its now F2P game going forward. I'm not entirely sure why the player indicator ring is on by default, FIFA does the same thing with it's trainer HUD which you have to hide.

What is there to say? The quality of the cutscenes is irrelevant. The game is purely a mobile game and looks/plays no better from these videos than PES2020/21 on the iPhone. Why would anybody bother playing that on a console with all of the limitations? It's partly a shame they got two chimps to play against each other because you can tell very little about the gameplay from two people who look like they've never heard of football or how it's played. Drag any two random kids out of kindergarten and they'd play a better game than that footage.

Still, who among us isn't excited to pay $1.99 for every type of pass and to expand the tactics from:
- All out attack like we'll get beheaded at full time in front of our families if we don't score.
- I'll attack if I bloody feel like it.
- I can't be bothered, I'll react if something happens.
- We're all staying in our own half because attacking is for sissies and we're very fat.
- We've literally parked two double-decker buses in front of the goal (it's torn up the pitch but at least it's still 0-0.)

The nets are the least of the problems looking at some of the physics. I know the two morons playing the game don't exactly help with a detailed examination as they're making the worst decisions imaginable to pass/cross/shoot when facing the wrong way and kicking the ball anywhere but part of me is concerned that there is a genuine input lag because I'm still struggling to admit there might be any worse individuals to demo a game in the history of gaming.

Konami really don't have any intent on trying to maintain their old fanbase. This is meant for a new market of 10 year olds who will happily spend $30 of their parents money to buy the latest Nike boots and tattoos for their eFootball Messi.

Found myself (after a good search) downloading a fresh copy of PES6 yesterday evening. If anybody can honestly watch that eFootball video and say that gameplay (ignoring the two idiots playing it - says a lot Konami couldn't even be bothered to get somebody who knew how to play a football game, that's probably the level of moron you have testing it too) is better than PES6, I don't know what to say. I'd rather mod the living crap out of that and at least have solid gameplay than wait in monthly intervals to see if I can buy long passes for $4.99 or some other crap.

This will get 3/10 rating on IGN PS5 review ... unless KONAMI threatens family of guy reviewing it. I dont think they can even bribe reviewer.

I don't like IGN at all, but I don't think IGN will be bothered to review a mobile focused F2P game in the first place.

Surely something happened part way through development...the PS5 version looks like a PS3 game.

That Messi teaser to this has to be one of the biggest graphical downgrades I have ever seen.

The new leaked gameplay videos (that appear to be ps4 or ps5) look much better. Do we have confirmation that the 2nd defender pressure button is really gone ?

Positives:

* Continuous play looks nice

* Teams coming out before kickoff & after halftime looking good.

* CPU Ai showing some promising signs of using skill to beat a man

* Game Pace looks decent with weight & momentum to players

* Player models & kits look good

Negatives:

*Crowd looks awful

*Game looks a bit unresponsive (PES 14 vibes)

*Graphically poor although much better than NFG stability test

* Sound doesn't seem great

* Definitely not a next-gen looking football game

* Player awareness looks really bad

* Collisions look clunky
Yeah it looks very unresponsive. Animations though very good and id say better than Fifa 22.

Really hard to tell what its like though until release. Still think it will take them 3 years to get it really good.

Way to much bugs. The thing is i don't found the game graphically "ugly", i mean the models, lighting etc.
Even animations in their ensemble. Well it's just, that there's would looks better with shirts moving and... Details

But it's lifeless, WAY more too buggy, i can't imagine something added on that basis, things disappearing, collisions, ball floating....
It's globally looking weirdo at a very high japanese level, with the UI, colors and all related are awful with those shitty circles, bars of directions when you shoots etc.

I'm not astonished at all. Like i thinked, it's way too soon too be released, nothing seems optimised. It's like Kimura : "We will release it the 30!" a co-worker "But, there's still too much things, we can't in that state, it's impossible, first resolve the ..." (sort a kalash out of his jacket) "I said release that shit the 30! You know who's the fucking boss now?" "Okay... 😰"

Another one. This shows clearly, that the game sure has responsiveness issues. It’s like you are playing online with a really bad connection. The guys playing don’t help too since they clearly don’t know what they are doing.

The circles underneath players are a monstrosity what on earth are they about?

Player's movement is good with better inertia, momentum but responsiveness and awereness are suspect.
A lot of missplaced passes which is good.
But graphic looks bad

Graphics are the only things i don't think it looks bad. Not at all, sincerely, like i said there's missing details but all is fine. Not the issue at all to me.
But physics and the rest yes, it's a complete pre-beta shit. And those circle, the "life" in the game, no, it's ISS N64 we got here, it's looking so kitsch.
Am i the only one thinkin that way?

At least these videos continue one fine summertime PES tradition: the only players who get to play previews are terrible at the game. And the previews heavily favour multiplayer, which is the one factor that has DESTROYED football gaming and PES.

Why do players who know they're playing for an audience tend to run and run and run into traffic a lot? Is there some shame attached to passing the ball? Are they attempting tricks that aren't coming off?
