eFootball (All Platforms)

Feel about it however you want. Im pissed about what ive seen thus far as well. But remember you've only played the beta (of who knows what version) of efootball, predominantly as an online tester.. And the footage youve/we've seen is probably the 'full version' of a working title, not the final release, or itd be out already. Be as angry as want - about the current state and what you think the future will hold.

I strongly believe in having a positive outlook on everything mate. Someone put it well with, a door closes & another is opened. I feel though that a culture is developing where criticism is met with " oh you're just mad at everything ", & there are toxic communities like this for sure. But your perception has to come into play here too.

How many times has a company changed its tune after harsh feedback? They didn't even mention master league until the backlash started.
World of Warcraft just announced their biggest patch or whatever full of features that people have been telling them to include for months. All of a sudden Final Fantasy 14 is kicking their arse all over town & they release a mega patch. (I watch Asmongold is how I know this lol I don't play it )

Each to their own, I respect the wait & see approach. But I'm not "angry" or negative. I'm an experienced realist.

EDIT : @aussiepesfan ok bet .. you wont be playing this efootball in 1 year. Loser sends a slab of Draught via auspost

So Gamescom has come and gone and there's been no real gameplay shown or release date announced.
We were informed of some new features, but many were qualified with "available in a future update".
I had thought/hoped that Konami were keeping things quiet for commercial reasons, and were going to wow us all at Gamescom!

Previously we only had an unclear roadmap with vague details of unmamed modes with unclear dates.

For me, this all points to the game being nowhere near ready at the moment, and the fact that there's now no pressure of an annual release date
probably means we'll get a bare-bones game for the immediate future.

I don't have a problem with this per se, but the whole situation has been badly handled from a customer relations point of view.
People have suggested that development was changed mid-course, and that seems highly likely. There could be some justification for that,
Covid, UE5 delayed? to give just a couple of examples.

A good game could well emerge from all this in time, but Konami really need to under-promise,over-deliver(rather than the reverse) and regain the trust of their fans.

In short, is the reason for the lack of detail due to poor communication or to a lack of a product anywhere near ready to release?

Or in this one where the keeper jumped so high that almost touched the crossbar with his head... but in the end, nice slam-dunk :APPLAUD:

That lob and gk 3 meter dive animation have been in PES since about 2011, literally one of the worst animations they've had and kept, and it survived until efootball now...lmao.

Do i think ill be playing efootball in a year's time?? hahah good question.. I have no idea, but i certainly hope so. Not if its the unfinished mess seen in the trailers. In that case ill certainly be happy playing a modded pes2021 season update for the rest of the year :) Btw, i havent even bought myself a ps5 yet, based on so many unknowns surrounding efootball. But again, I still think efootball (for ps5/xbox series x and pc atleast) will be much better than how people are judging the poor trailer. Id certainly bet on that.

Being overly negative or overly positive about a final product that hasn't even been released is equally bad.
I reckon that to be a realist, at this stage, is probably not to expect too much (based on the crappy clearly unfinished crap in the trailers), but also waiting to see and play the real finished product before making constructive criticism. And if its bad, yeah we should all make noise.

Who knows, based on the trailer, we could get several delays on the final release as it certainly appears Konami are not close to a finished product - otherwise we would have seen some actual gamplay player vs cpu footage. Anyone know when we could expect this?? That'd be a decent thing to judge.

How is it possible for it to get worse and worse with each new announcement/reveal? All jokes aside, it feels like Konami don't give a single flying fuck about games anymore. This new trailer, which some people thought would show off some orgasmic next gen graphics, looks like it was made by a bored intern. This is genuinely horrible, not even memeing rn. I'm in awe at how bad it looks.

You say that if it's bad, we should make noise... I don't think so. I've already given up on Konami. They won't listen to the community, or at least not too much. They obviously know what their online and offline community are looking for, and they are going to do something that barely satisfies them.

I tell you something, Konami are not fools, they know what they are doing. They won't make a BAD game. They are not that fools. They will make a mediocre game, will take money and feedback back from their community and try to solve the maximum number of complains with the minimum number of effort. So what I expect? A 3 year mediocre game fusion of Fox engine PES mobile playability (a little bit more complex, maybe) with kindoff UE rendering. With several updates slowly changing the gameplay (since is a game as service and they already did as game as product) hopefully, but not assured, for better. And not much more. Early life being mediocre almost bad, and late life being mediocre but almost ok with hopefully some ocassional sparkles of being a decent game.

And then exactly the same with a fully UE engine game. And maybe in 6 or 7, or more years, we get to get another great PES or eFootball or whatever, if the IP survives the Odyssey of two mediocre F2P mediocre game, and depending a lot on the market situation.

Normalizing the mediocre gameplay, not bad but uninspiring, will be the normal thing to do these days.

We got plenty of time to sit and observe the chaos of what Konami is doing. At least bring me some popcorn 🍿🍿🍿🍿.

Yeah I noticed that. @Mikhail asked if there's a PES 5 2021 patch so I might check out that thread because I'm in love with PES 5 again.
I've search for it too, long ago. It seems that it's for PES 6 only. But there's some good patches for PES 6 though. They decrease drastically the stats of players so, gameplay is slower.

Admittedly I had to drop the speed for PES 5 to 0.95 using the Kitserver speeder. It was a bit too fast for me.

Indie studios with a few people developer team already are using UE5. The most recent example is Black Myth: Wukong game.
And that game looked nothing but stunning! Gfx and gp wise!
Not saying UE5 is needed for a great user experience... UE4 should do the trick when programming and creating in a good way and having a vision in mind. The latter is kinda super important! ;)

By making the game pseudo-free, Konami is URGING their players base to spend a few bucks in trying Fifa 22. It's such a no-brainer to spend money in just one game, that game being Fifa 22... you're not even forcing undecided players to decide on one game or another. That's why there's no attempt to seduce anyone: it's clearly (mistakenly) the law of the lesser effort.
They will lose hundreds of players.

Making the game "pseudo-free" gains them millions of players.
