Talking seriously, I only played offline modes (mostly League, ML was too scripted lately) and so to me PES is dead. Won't buy a paid DLC when offline modes are just an afterthought on a crappy online game.

But with a Raodmap and Zero Content? Looks like Early Access. So maybe they skipped the Plans for a Next Gen Version in the Year and Konami is broke.

What is with mobile Licences? I know that Konami had the Bundesliga Licences for Mobile Games.

For the record, I do not believe there ever was this super-duper next-gen version that they shelved to focus on a mobile port. They said it themselves in the IGN interview that this vision was set out 2 years ago. The Messi teaser was likely a maxed out render with static lighting created for that specific scene, and what you get after the necessary downgrade to make it run on consoles as well as the apparently shoddy global lighting solutions and lack of ambient occlusion is what you see in the trailer. The Messi model in the new trailer most likely is the one from the teaser, this is fairly clear if you pause at 1:03, but once transported into the game they seem to bear little relation due to lighting, texture quality etc. It's also no surprise that the close up Messi teaser is all they ever showed, it was smoke and mirrors from the beginning, if they had shown even a glimpse of the game itself the illusion would have been broken. The community tricked itself into thinking something incredible was coming when there was never any hard evidence for it (i.e. anything more than the odd tweet about photorealism).

It makes no difference to the end result but I do wonder if Konami devs were actually making a next generation version of PES and that's why we saw the Messi thing they released a while back, however the Konami bigwigs decided they couldn't justify the cost (maybe Covid played a part also) and canned it during the development stage and asked them to make this glorified mobile game instead.

Is anyone realistically waiting around for that? If they dangle the ML carrot in-front of us and anyone bites, given that the AI is now made for online play, I'll be sad to see it. If you like myClub, and you care more about fun than football, you might like eFootball. If you don't, you won't.

I just hope that I can have the same offline modes like previous PES, that's all
Gameplaywise let's assume the game will be the same as last year with tweaks
I've seen the trailer 5x already, it simply looks like PES 2021 season update to me, graphically and motionwise

I think this could confirm (I suppose) rumors that Konami is not doing well and that another company could acquire it and would be one of their last plays.

This move suggests that they don't mind sacrifice hardcore fan base in order to create a game that generates profits through microtransactions: If their bet works they will continue to release these types of games, if it doesn't work it wouldn't matter since it would means a fatal blow for Konami.

Either way is a lose-lose for hardcore fans we saw the glory of our beloved WE / PES born and achieve.
