But the link @Ameppe sent, it still shows eFootball PES for me:

KONAMI ANNOUNCES NEYMAR JR. AS NEWEST AMBASSADOR FOR THE eFootball PES SERIES

So it's not like they are dropping the PES name, they definitely won't, why will they call it 'PES' in the teaser, but suddenly change their mind over the next year and change the name of the series?
Good point. I guess we'll find out soon enough! (Well, not soon enough. Let's find out now. :D)

maybe the times right for a new challenger to step up and take on ea and konami
I think we're so far past that time (especially with every license being eaten up by EA at this point) that we'll never get a serious football game made by anyone else ever again. There's no money in it, unless you're selling licensed player cards to kids in your game.

All the news refer to Pes as efootball (efootball Pro, efootball Open). I am really worried the game will simply be called efootball. Terrible terrible name if you ask me.
That's talking about the Online tournaments they have, related to MyClub, it's not about the game itself

Remember Kenny Dalglish Player Manager on the Amiga? They could reboot that series. David Moyes Soccer Action for the PS5 and Series X!

This. Some people seem to moan about this at Konami but frankly I've always found the huge monopoly EA have been allowed to have in this area to be hugely distasteful.

so all we need to do is, finding a person who's not into more money making (because he or she got enough already) but likes to "push something" and get this new project started!
there must be at least one person in this world, being a football (video game fan) and being ready to put some millions down, who could sponsor such a fan loved project!
if you hear me, sultan of whatever, king or queen from wherever, rich kid or adult... we (the community) are ready to work hard for that dream!

edit: opening an account on some website to get attention and funding started sure aint easy. but if there was a base team, programmers, artists, tech guys, volunteers... this really could draw attention for some sponsoring. im not talking about regular crowd funding but getting the attention of some rich people who are ready to invest in something that would make thousands of users happy and the sponsors name unforgettable (by the community)! just daydreaming here! ;)

edit: if i go to Dubai one day, i will only wear one shirt for the whole vacation: "the pitch could be ours - make a dream come true (call 555 - WINNINGELEVEN"

Working for the fan
They bring out their mods for love

I say we've got to hold on to what we've got
It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We've got each other, and that's a lot for love
We'll give it a shot

I could totally see Konami just going ftp/cross platform with PES, sod everything called ML, etc. They probably intended to push PES to the next level like they said, but then some guys from the numbers department did some calculations and said that instead of spending a lot of money and getting a little more back, they could spent very little and still get a profit. But let's wait and see.

eFootball is IMO better than Pro Evolution Soccer or Winning Eleven... All names are cheesy, but at least one has the name of the sport in it.
