Just look at this gameplay video. (Sorry for the image quality and only half of the FC 24 gameplay video has been leaked.)

I said it before, I'll say it again. The foot-to-ball animations are designed exactly like a "competitive online" game. That is, the laws of physics, the realistic animations, the rotation of the players' bodies similar to reality are all designed based on a competitive online game with the fastest possible response time!
It's really embarrassing. Does that mean that even if the foot to ball animations are designed in an arcade style, casual gamers won't play FC anymore? What kind of ridiculous and shameful way of thinking is this?
This problem of skating and slipping of the animations of the foot to the ball is the Achilles heel of the game and has seriously affected the overall body of the game. Does it mean that it is difficult for the development team to even design a foot-to-ball animation like the 6th generation PES era and even the 7th generation FIFA? It means that even our expectations have decreased so much in this matter and we are satisfied with them!
These foot to ball animations are designed for those who have no understanding of football. The animation design in this game is really fluctuating. The quality of the foot-to-ball animations is bad, now you add the problem of skating and slipping to it!
That is, even if we assume that the foot-to-ball animations are intentionally designed in a competitive way, can't a better quality be designed? Does this mean that foot-to-ball animations must have foot-planting and skate problems because the fast response time of the game is somehow bypassed?
It is really shameful.
Totally agree. We went back 20 years. I remember this was a very common issue in FIFA 03/04/05. The ball was always tied to the players and was very difficult to take the ball away, but it was somehow understandable, because was part of the evolution process of physics and graphic engines.
Nowadays, I understand this is made on purpose. If there's more dribbling, there are less changes of possession or situations where the ball is on dispute, and thus, it ease the online matches coding. It's easier to calculate situations where a player has the ball, than calculate situations where both teams are disputing the ball (much more prone to bugs and netcode errors).
If there was something great about PES 3-6, is the ball being one "entity" completely separated from players. The physics were great, it feel alive...allowing both teams to dispute the ball.
Besides that, no matter how millions of HyperMotion™ movements were added. Since FIFA 22, I keep seeing a ton of weird movements that break all the physics rules.
Players passing and dribbling with movements that look like passes with back heel, but made with the side of the boots.
In real football, players usually do passes to teammates that are in front of them, or in their POV at least
In last FIFAs, I see passes to the red crosses points, that would be impossible in real life without using a back heel. Completely unrealistic, it totally kills the mood.
