3 minutes into the first game and they run through the defence to score. Sigh.

I'm struggling to see the difference so far - admittedly the two "clips" are terrible quality and seconds long, but... Skating galore, defenders not working together, ball changing physics on the fly to guarantee passes are successful (the Twitter clip a few posts ago, there's a defender who's having to deal with a cross, but rather than clear it, he makes a perfect volleyed pass to a teammate who controls it impossibly well and is immediately moving away - so it looks like it's still just counter-counter-counter, no midfield).

Certainly not seeing the benefit (or even the difference) of the 100x more Hypermotion data or whatever that line was. (Yet.)

But anyone expecting EASFC to move closer to a football fan's interests, rather than a gamer's interests (i.e. make it as easy to play and quick to make me feel like a superstar God, and I'll keep giving you FUT money), is mad.

Gaming has changed and we have nowhere to go. Back to my first point - when I played a new PES, the excitement was always "how long is it going to take me to figure out how to score in this one", because defensive AI was always tweaked.

Now, the development focus seems to be "gamers will get angry and dump the game if they don't score easily - and we NEED them to be hooked into our product to keep the money rolling in".

I really don't think there will be a football-based game that looks or feels more like football than it does a hockey/Fortnite game, ever again.

This is the reason why fifa and pes ended up here --- and being like they are.

50% of todays young people are idiots by any metrics. And 90% of fifa players are. Who ever buy those coins is an idiot, not for me --- but by any standard of calling someone an idiot.

I dont see we are doing favours to anybody by rejecting the facts.

But i don’t think it’s coming.

I'm still doubting if it will be released as a gamecam or a replay cam. Probably replay cam, because it has the HyperMotion™ overlays.
I get dizzy while playing with the 3rd person pro camera, imagine in POV lol

A return to the past

If you remember, in 2022, I gave an explanation about Deep Learning technology and talked about recording and capturing players' movements from a soccer game camera, and I said that FIFA's technical department has been working on this technology for years. Like in FC 24 they finally managed to reach this technology. In the previous two versions, as I mentioned, Deep Learning technology was used, but the game was recorded by the sensors in an 11 vs. 11 match, and the technical department had not yet been able to do the same from a match recorded from a camera view. Play a match and finally in FC 24 they were able to use this technology and in a way it can be said that the FIFA development team is making better and more complete use of this technology year by year.

The form of capturing animations through the camera without the need for sensors on the players' bodies

As I mentioned, in HyperMotion Volumetric, the animations are captured through a camera without the need for sensors on the players' bodies (watch the two videos above and below, you will understand the story nicely), that is, Volumetric capture from cameras for uploading a 360-degree perspective. It uses a movement or a series of movements and when the uploaded data is analyzed by a specialized computer it will provide a 3D digital representation of the person as they appear on the camera.

What is a frame in animation?

A frame is a single image in a series of images. One second of video is usually made up of 24 or 30 frames per second, abbreviated as FPS. Animation is created by extracting consecutive frames. When subsequent frames have evaluated them, they are checked for re-viewing and all frames are displayed throughout the animation.

You can think of animations as frames that are displayed at close intervals for a long time in a row. When an image with pixels is displayed on the screen, the frame is used in context. Making pixels from each frame can be an "integrated operation in the animation process".

Types of frames in animation

Also, the strange thing is that this hypermotion technology was designed for a simulator gameplay along with responsive animations, but after a while, the development team complained about the slow and realistic animations of FIFA 22 "Ultimate Mode Gamers". that the animations are slow and unresponsive, and the development team gradually came with updates and designed the foot-to-ball animations section in a competitive way (feedback priority for the development team is the gamers of the ultimate section, especially the casual gamer) and the point is that the production team saw that the animations were designed from a realistic basis in order to make their work easier and to design highly responsive animations. Slipping or skating problems appeared in FIFA and many To speed up the response time of the animations, this story continued in FIFA 23.

Hypermotion is exactly like a Mercedes-Benz engine that is mounted on the body of an old and worn-out car, and you have to consider what will happen to the designed car and in which direction the output will be drawn.

So are you suggesting that because it's a video game it can't be realistic?

It's so annoying when people like you make out we are insecure for just wanting some sanity.

People want immersion with the biggest sport in the world, it's not alot to ask.
To be fair, as much as I'm frustrated from a gameplay standpoint (i.e. women players having exaggerated attributes so that they can be interchanged with the men with no discernible difference)...

...I get it, and I don't really blame them.

I can't say I care about anything Ultimate Team is, or does. If EA were honest enough to say it's a card-collecting mode aimed at kids, I'd say great, female representation and role models are fucking important, so go for it.

FUT is a toy, and we wouldn't rant that a toy Jeep's wheels were the wrong size. Who cares.

The problem is, it's not SUPPOSED to be for kids. It has microtransactions and gambling elements. So let's be honest, while EA will say it's uplifting, I would argue it's morally bankrupt.

EA will never admit that FUT is aimed at kids - so why treat us like kids? But, fine. It's FUT. Who cares.

To design the whole game with this damn ethos though (playable/appealing to children above all) - and most frustratingly of all, make players in all positions the same anyway, regardless of their attributes (i.e. I can consistently run box-to-box and score with any player, perform incredible tackles with any player etc. no matter their ability)...

That's where we are. The line between "accessibility" and "zero thought or input required, zero sense of accomplishment" was erased years ago.
 
Just think if EA had a different focus, on gameplay and immersion instead of what we got yesterday’s event could’ve be a showcase of incredible technology. I mean, just think what Career Mode could be now. Sigh. And I know some people don’t care about presentation and non-gameplay immersion, but just think how they could make the matches feel so alive and in tune with how your career is going. Like proper features, not gimmicks you would get sick of and skip.
 
asking for realism in fut is a lost battle. like ea just released a Peter Cech striker card and he has 99 shooting and dribblings stats and is now one of the best strikers in that mode. wont be long until there a spiderman and ironman card and such.

thankfully other modes have realistic squads
 
What I don't understand is, why the screenshots on the official website shows us a much better graphic quality than the ones from the trailer?
So which pictures shows us the truth?
